JoeDirt Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I knew it! After he guaranteed victory I knew they'd do a DQ finish. Wow.
Guest Choken One Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 So...Eddy has to pull a Shawn to make this match worthwhile?
iliketurtles Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Just in CASE you ordered the show...WWE made sure that you were screwed over from a clean finish in the main event. Sucks to be LA fans...Unforgiven 2002 ME...bad finish. JD 2004...Bad finish.
Guest Black Lightning Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Ugh, I don't think this fued is over Good call.
Slickster Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Mark it down: Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL in a Cage Match at the Great American Bash on 6/27 in Norfolk, VA.
Repo Man jr Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 How did he win by DQ? JBL brought in the belt but Eddie got it and used it... hes killing JBL with a chair at the moment btw
Only The Strong Survive Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Just thank God that Bradshaw didn't leave with the belt.
Michrome Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Keller gave it **1/4. That means it was HORRIBLE.
JoeDirt Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Meltzer: "Guerrero bled as bad as you'll ever see. It was like a Mexico main event with Perro Aguayo. Finish saw Bradshaw bring the belt in, but Guerrero got it and used it and ref Brian Hebner DQ'd Guerrero. Several more belt shots after the match. A few ref bumps. Very good main event. Bradshaw juiced after the match was over from the belt and chair shots. Atmosphere after the match was great."
Guest ian. Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Anybody got pics of the blood? I kinda wanna see how bad it is...
Michrome Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Meltz thinks every main event is "great" in wwe, i wanna see it now though.
Repo Man jr Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I thought it was a pretty good match. The rest of the show was like an average smackdown though.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Knew Bradshaw would win by DQ. BTW, Bradshaw's longest match ever would technically be from the 2003 Survivor Series, if I'm not mistaken.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Keller gave it **1/4. That means it was HORRIBLE. Meltzer said it was very good and I agree. It was a great brawl
The Mandarin Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Well, congrats to Bradshaw for the good stuff that is being said about him and his match tonight. It's just too bad there was nothing good about his work before (or SmackDown for that matter), so maybe I could have ordered the damn pay-per-view. No regrets at all. I'll save my money for the WrestleMania DVD. They're still getting my money, so it's not a loss.
JoeDirt Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 It was a much better finish than the Taker/Lesnar DQ in 2002 in LA. Lots of blood, no wrestling. But that's okay because of the story I suppose, where neither guy would really be interested in wrestling. Eddie took a few big bumps and bled like hell to get Bradshaw and the feud over. Can't give Eddie enough credit.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Holy shit - Eddy bled like an absolute motherfucker in that main event. On that match, things were great for what we had towards the end there. But the DQ was absolute bullshit, and was probably only to let JBD keep some credibility - but at least Eddy retained and got that payback. At least the DQ was more fitting than at Unforgiven '02. But it should be interesting to see what he has to say this week on SmackDown!. Overall, the show was as expected, if not a tiny bit better. Not as bad as some had expected, but still nowhere near great. Congratulations to both JBD and Eddy Guerrero.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Kinda sad that a ppv entitled "JUDGMENT DAY" would end in an anticlimatic DQ finish.

Overall, the show was as expected, if not a tiny bit better. Not as bad as some had expected, but still nowhere near great. Yeah, it was pretty much what I expected. I'm glad the main event was a bit better than I thought it would be. I predicted a DQ finish a long time ago. The rest of the card was completely forgettable and the WWE didn't do anything to make anything else on the card memorable whatsoever.
Downhome Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I LOVED the main event. In my opinion, it was one of the best brawls in years, it was just perfect. The story was told perfectly, Eddie looked like a god (especially with the blood just dripping off of him while standing on the top turnbuckle while hitting his chest before the Frog Splash), and the near falls were just great. Unlike most, I loved the ending also. It was just so fitting for not only the feud, but for the story that was being told in the ring. And talk about the blood. Eddie bled like a madman, it was just unreal. I didn't think he was going to be able to continue. Bradshaw being busted open at the end was a great touch as well, and both men took their bumps like champs. I actually thought Bradshaw was going to win not once, but a few times. I care about Bradshaw now, I WANT to see the blowoff match in this feud now. I want to see Eddie just go psycho on Bradshaw after this match. I can't remember the last time I loved a brawl type match as much as I enjoyed this one. It was just fun all the way through to me, from the start of the match to the post match happenings. Wow.
JoeDirt Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I'd watch the match again, but you can't until noon eastern time tomorrow. Shitty!

The reason that I didn't put the rest of the card down was because I'm still glad that the main event turned out ok. The undercard wasn't offensive. It wasn't great, but it wasn't offensive, so that's something.
Silence Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Judgment Day wasn't bad, but the main-event was the only match that really stood out.

We can have Rikishi vs. Fertig as the main event, and you would still love it.
Downhome Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 After adding everything up, I'd say it was perfectly average. I didn't really hate anything, which is always a good thing.
Downhome Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 We can have Rikishi vs. Fertig as the main event, and you would still love it. Not hardly. I'm simply not allowing blind hate to get in the way of what was a great brawl main event that told a hell of a story.
JoeDirt Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 After adding everything up, I'd say it was perfectly average. I didn't really hate anything, which is always a good thing. I hated Torrie/Dawn and Jackie/Chavo, but at least the Guerreros were entertaining. It was pretty much a boring or "eh" show aside from the last minute of Cena/Dupree, Taker's entrance, and the main event. Oh, and the finish to the opening match was fun, too.
