Aero Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I remember watching WWF on and off in 1992. This was the first show that I actually was aware of as a little kid, and I still remember watching it live. I did tape it, but I lost the tape years ago. Awesome stuff, Deon.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Warrior's pop in that first match is fucking INSANE.
Slayer Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Thanks DD I love the ending to the HBK-BB match, an excellent heel win that wasn't quite clean, but not so stupidly cliche as something like a weapon shot.
Guest Choken One Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 i miss the days when everyone had their own logo.
tbondrage99 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man as a team? Even I cant remember that. It also seems quite odd that Papa Shongo got a title shot.
Guest ian. Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I love you. Edited to add: I think why Shango got a title shot was becaue Bret was billed as a fighting champion, he'd take on any and all comers...meaning he'd beat a bunch of no names in a short amount of time.
Slayer Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man as a team? Even I cant remember that. It was very short lived It went from just after Summerslam '92 when Warrior helped out Savage after Flair regained the belt, and lasted for a month and a half before Warrior pulled his second notable disappearing act
Guest MikeSC Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 These are different because A LOT of people --- myself included --- got NO audio for the show when it was aired. -=Mike
cawthon777 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 It also seems quite odd that Papa Shongo got a title shot. Not really. This was before Shango started doing jobs to Jim Duggan. He just got done working a program with Warrior and was regularly facing Taker at house shows. Prior to Summer Slam 92, Shango put a "curse" on Bret which some saw as the reason why Bret lost the IC in London. Oh, and btw, Papa Shango ... best ... 90s gimmick ... ever.
edotherocket Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Awesome post Deon. I think Benoit should do the 'Fighting Champion' thing and defend his title against someone new each week on RAW. Well, maybe its more that I want to see him defend the title against someone other than Triple H, Shawn or Rhyno. ...or A-Train for that matter. He's had more than enough matches with him too.
eiker_ir Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 i miss the days when everyone had their own logo. i miss that too, and those tag team ones like Warrior/Macho are pretty awesome too
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Double D is truly a god among me. We want NWA footage though. Or me. Either way it's all good.
Drury37 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Oh I can just feel the nostalga. This awesome!!! Thanks.
Papacita Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Deon....I've been trying to get a copy of this show for the longest time! MUCH thanks for posting this.
Slayer Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 If DD really wanted to rock, he'd put up the Al Bundy promo of this SNME Hearing Al mention Papa Shango in a world title defense has to be one of the greatest things ever

Drury37 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I think DD should just toss a couple of matches in a post like a compilation and see how that works. He is really the man. Is the Funeral Palor segment at the end of the post match interview with Bret Hart or anything? Thanks.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Thanks for the post! The I-C Title match was brialliant.
Guest Fook Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Thanks a lot Deon. I've never seen the HBK/Bulldog title switch before.
Drury37 Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I think this one is really cool because I haven't seen either of three matches in like 11 and a half years so this just seems really cool to me. Thanks.

Tawren Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Thanks Rico. I love the IC title match, one of my favorites from a really stacked year.

Theoretically he could put "Thanks." in his sig, thus saving him the need to type "Thanks." in every post, thereby saving an efficient six keystrokes per post, which would add up Not that he would do it, but still
