Guest JacK Report post Posted May 6, 2004 I know it's a spiffy dangerous chemical of some sort, but what does the wrestling move stand for? Was it just named after the chemical, or is it like the RKO and there's actually something behind it?

Cran Da Maniac 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 There's really no meaning behind it, IIRC. It was probably taken from the pesticide tho

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 heres where my age comes in, I remember it was the old WWF Wednesday night wrestling show (I believe Prime time Wrestling but don't quote me) where they interviewed Jake roberts in like 86-87 and he had big tanks full of Snakes and it was asked of him what does DDT mean? And as someone stated here Jake said it simply means the End

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Did anyone kick out of Jakes DDT? (Other than the Taker WM squash) Nope. The DDT back then meant DEATH (and since UT is dead, iot won't hurt). For example watch This Tuesday in Texas. Savage sells it like he's been shot...several times. Now, it's probably the weakest move ever and hasn't pinned anyone in years. IWD 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Dicholo-diphenyl trichloroethane. Exactly. It's a type of snake venom (Jake The Snake.)
Guest Jimbo Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Dicholo-diphenyl trichloroethane. Okay, now you're just making up words
Guest The Masked Avenger Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Dicholo-diphenyl trichloroethane isn't a snake venom, it's a pesticide. Jake has been heard to come up with different explanations from time to time, but the one I've heard the most is that he took it from said pesticide (which was a very hot news item back then, due to all the ill effects that were just starting to show). As far as I know, that's where he got the name, but as others have pointed out, he was often quoted on saying that it simply meant "The End". -TMA

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Now, it's probably the weakest move ever and hasn't pinned anyone in years. Rock pinned Jericho with a DDT back when Jericho was champ. And HHH and I think Lance Storm have both pinned Rob Van Dam with one. If I were to get into wrestling as a wrestler, I'd try becoming a master of all variations of the DDT. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 6, 2004 HHH DDT'ed RVD on the STEEL ENTRANCE RAMP. But OK, that counts. I meant regular ol' DDT's in the ring. The other two I don't even remember. Also, regular DDT's only. I know Gangrel pinned people with that implant DDT, as well as other variations like the Edge-e-cution (edge's of course).

Guest JMA Report post Posted May 7, 2004 Did anyone kick out of Jakes DDT? (Other than the Taker WM squash) I recently re-watched the Jake-Taker match and I've got to say that it wasn't as bad as I remembered it. It wasn't good by any means, but I recall it being much worse. Taker did somewhat sell the second DDT. You'll notice that Jake spends some time stalling after hitting it. It certainly wasn't as big a no-sell as Warrior STANDING RIGHT UP after the Pedigree.

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2004 Couple more...LOL: Over-the-Shoulder Powerslam Hold (like British Bulldog) into DDT Canadian Back Rack into Inverted DDT Fisherman's DDT Catapult DDT - slingshot over the ropes and into the ring, catching the guy in a DDT You can also do a Suicida and apron version of this, if they're standing at ringside or on the apron (in the latter, you'd DDT their head onto the apron; Frankie Kazarian used this in a PWG match, and I'm sure others have as well.). Shooting Star DDT (M-Dogg 20 had done it, and calls it the Death Star DDT) Back Springboard DDT- Charge under a guy's lariat, jump onto one of the ropes, leap backwards, and catch him in a DDT or an Inverted DDT, depending on whether or not he turns around. Hang the guys legs over the ropes and do a DDT or Inverted DDT. AJ Styles' Quebrada Inverted DDT Ya, there are a lot of versions, to say the least, LOL. Dace59 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Brainbuster DDT = Sheer Drop DDT. Fishermans DDT is a Fishermans Buster and so not a DDT. And Style's Springboard Moonsault Inverted DDT is so bad. You can hit it in one smooth motion, makes it look so much better.
