Squirm is so bad that it made the MST3K episode featuring it hard to watch.

North is one of those movies where it's hard to pinpoint just one reason why it's so bad. It's not that the acting is the worst of all time, or the writing, or the directing. It's just that all of them are pretty damn bad, and they somehow combine into a worthless movie that's even worse than the sum of its parts.

Why the hell are so many people naming movies from the last 10 years as the "worst ever"? bps, I don't understand why you hate Ransom so much, but shit, at least they kept the camera lens correctly focused during that movie, which is a claim that Manos and various other old B flicks can't make. Anyone who thinks that a movie that came out recently is the worst film EVER desperately needs to watch more MST3K.

well, in the case of North, it's mostly the writing. The same guy did the short story it was based on (I think), and the short story is just so unbelievably bad...the directing and acting and all that could be top notch and North would still be in the bottom 10.

and Ditto on the MST3K part

Thing is, when a film hits a level of badness --- its craptosity MAKES it more enjoyable. You can enjoy "Battlefield Earth" or "Spice World" for the unending, unmitigated, unredeemable train wreck that they are. You can almost sense that everybody involved is quite certain that it sucks. Heck, "Manos" and Ed Wood's stuff is SO HORRIBLE that one derives amusement from the ineptitude.

NOW, with "Ghost and the Darkness" , they TRULY felt it was a great movie and any campy amusement from its craptacularness is impossible to feel.

However, "Catalina Caper" or the German "Hamlet" probably are the worst ever --- as MST3K couldn't make them amusing.

He isn't the only person that will deem a movie "worst movie ever" just because they personally disliked it. It's something that pisses me off a great deal and I see it far too often.

I have seen many many movies in my lifetime.

There are only 4 that contained not one moment of entertainment whatsoever throughout the entire picture.

I named those 4.

I don't know how something can be worse than 0 entertaiment value.

I also don't know what's wrong with that system.

yeah, but North is a movie that's soooooooooo bad that it transcends "so bad it's funny" and is in "so bad it's BAD" territory

I totally disagree with you there. I found Squirm to be one of the better animal horror movies of the period, for a few reasons. I liked the setting. I found the decidedly unheroic hero to be fun in a stupid sort of way. The sheriff was cool. And the MST3K version is one of my two or three favorite episodes of that. "Mr. Beardsley" became a personal catchphrase.

Really...wow

Outside of a few highlights, such as Mr. Beardsley, it was easily one of my least favorite MST episodes.

It was probably partially because I had seen and enjoyed the movie before. That always makes them funnier. For the record, my favorite one is Final Justice. Then there's a few others hanging around my second favorite... but Squirm's in there somewhere.

Jaws The Revenge.

We've already had a topic about it a few months back, discussing how horrible it was.

Poor Acting.

Shitty Writing.

Horrible F-X.

If I may borrow a quote from A MikeSC, here's what Michael Caine, the only star seen anywhere near the movie, had to say.

"I have not seen Jaws: The Revenge, but by all accounts, it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific"

Now thats shitty.

At least some people, like Michael Caine, are honest when confronted with a lesser film they took part in.

Red Zone Cuba, when it's bad by Francis Coleman's standards you know it's an awful movie.

That's Coleman Francis. And every movie he ever made was bad. That's why they all wound up on MST3K.

Pootie Tang is funnier than hell and fuck everyone who says it isn't.

The worst movies of all time are:

1. The Cars that Ate Paris.

2. It's Alive

3. Night of a Thousand Cats

4. The Legend of The Chupacabra

I dare you to name another funny instance outside of Silent song and daddy tang..

Froggy smuggles some dirt in for Dirty Dee in prison.

Trucky's inner monologue prefaces everything he says with exactly what he's going to say.

The Crazy bitch in the club drinking milk out of a bowl.

Pootie rubbing pie on himself while the fat bitch goes ape.

To me it was a lot worse. At least you could laugh at the randomness of Skydivers with the Scotsman and the giant amazone-type woman.

You're totally ignoring the saucer of milk. That part's brilliant.

I thought Skydivers was a worse movie than Red Zone Cuba. I could actually find myself watching Red Zone Cuba without the aid of MST3K if it were ever on in the middle of the night or something.

Troll 2 is a favorite among bad movie watchers. Who could forget the kid pissing on the lunch to prevent people from eating it?

Feardotcom and Dead Alive used to be on the list

I can't believe I missed this.

Dead Alive is so NOT one of the worst films of all time - it's one of the better zombie flicks made in the past 15 years.

NOTHING that Peter Jackson has done is bad. Some of it may be mediocre (Frighteners), but none of it's bad.

Or the grandad telling him he had them frozen for 1 minute and 10 minutes of real time on screen passing.

Or the fact that the movie was about Goblins and not Trolls.

Or the Popcorn.

YOU know what I mean.

Well...just saw Soul Plane, and I can definitely say it is no where near being considered for worst movie ever. Isn't the best but it isn't that bad either. It's a bit stereotypical, as depicted in the commercials..but it was made by black people so can't really be that stereotypical can it? :/ There's some great comedy in it...along with being mixed in with kind of a love story, so to the ones earlier in the thread saying it could be a candidate, it should definitely be scratched off that list.
