Slickster Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Leading off is IMO one of the BEST WWE shirts EVER made: Perfect for non-WWE fans too, like the 'EVIL' shirt was. The joke works on 2 levels, so I might actually buy this one. Plus, there's a faint 'Word Life' logo beneath the writing, so it's got the retro appeal too. We have a winner. For the ladies there's this new Trish T-shirt: Again, WWE has made a shirt that doesn't scream 'I AM A WWE FAN STONECOLDSTONECOLD' and looks good too. Now, onto the less-than-stellar Judgment Day T-shirt: You gotta love the big rectangular front graphic that makes it look like a Cafepress knockoff. And I'd say something about how the 3 matches on the back were the ONLY matches going into the last week before the show, but never mind. Next up is the Deadman's new ballcap: It looks...okay...if you ignore the fact that classic Undertaker and red don't go together. If this were blue or purple it would make sense, but it looks like they had the 'flames' template made up and they changed the front from a 'Deadman Inc.'logo to the cros-er, 'symbol.' Next up, Lita's visor cap. I was unaware that Lita was so popular she merited her own cap. That, and the trucker-style sides and the piss-yellow front sink this one in my book. This Cena visor makes up for the above two, though: The piping on the brim + the use of the 'shiny' WWE logo make this one a winner in my book. I'd buy it, but I'm cheap.
tekcop Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I really like the Cena shirt. Nothing else looks wearable, though.
Slickster Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 Now, here's the bargain bin: This Goldust mask is $0.98, which is a bargain seeing as how it was 8 FRIGGIN' BUCKS 4 months ago. I mean geez, talk about a markup. Oh, and it's still expensive at 98 cents. Was I the only one who forgot all about these? I guess that Zach didn't have enough $ to buy all of these to sell at his indy shows (for the next decade), so WWE's clearing 'em out at $5 a pop. Worthless unless your initials are ZG- in that case, buy 10! Or don't. I'm not going to make you or anything. At $5, these make the PERFECT late Mother's Day gift. $5 for a badass hat with no WWE logos? GOLD, Jerry, GOLD! The moral of the story here is: if you go to a WM, wait a year until the $45 jersey is $10. Then, you've got your souvenirs. I'm a frigging genius, like Lanny Poffo before he got arrested. Tevye: We must move on. Go home, Golde. Golde: But what about Brock? Tevye: BROCK IS DEAD TO US! We have other WWE Superstars at home. Go. *Golde reluctantly leaves, weeping* Anyway, this $40 sweatshirt is down to $20, so get it if you like refreshing your browser. Endorsed by Eugene! It's $3, down from $10. Reenact the hilarity today! Preferably with a British friend. It's funnier if they have no idea what WWE is, too; then they'll make the same expressions Regal did. What the fuck is that? It says that's the Rock, but it looks like a malfunction to me. There's a REASON why this one is a $5 Shopzone exclusive (but it was once $15!). That's my report. Thoughts?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Someone give this man his own column on the site. Entertaining for the crap...and thats all that is important.
JoeDirt Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Wow. There's a lot of crap there I wouldn't want. I dunno, I've never been into buying wrestling t-shirts or hats or anything. But if I had to have anything, I suppose the Cena shirt would be best. Oh, and the Divas thong...er...um... EDIT: Who in the HELL would buy a Zach Gowan t-shirt?
Slickster Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 Thanks, Man (of 1004 Modes), glad you liked it. *appeals to crowd for support*
JoeDirt Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Thanks, Man (of 1004 Modes), glad you liked it. *appeals to crowd for support* Yeah, this was cool. Nice job.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 EDIT: Who in the HELL would buy a Zach Gowan t-shirt? I would damn it! Of course, if it was $1 that is. I've only bought FOUR WWE clothes EVER. A Hulk STILL Rules T-Shirt, Hulkamania bandana, Class of 3:16 (Austin Shirt), and the generic Austin 3:16 shirt.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Again, WWE has made a shirt that doesn't scream 'I AM A WWE FAN STONECOLDSTONECOLD' Complaining about how shirts make you look like a wrestling fan while at the same time giving props to the "retro" WW logo makes you look like either a hypocrite, or a 'tard.
The Tino Standard Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 When and why was Lanny Poffo arrested?!
Mecha Mummy Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I have bought one WWE shirt in my life; the Matt Hardy Era of Mattitude shirt since my name is Mat. I considered getting the Cheat 2 Win shirt, though, and if I could ever get a chance to buy the "EVIL" shirt I would do so immediately. Anyways, the Cena shirt is good. And I might get that Jersey since I was at XIX. But I'd probably look like a dork in a jersey, so...
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 The Rock figure looks like Randy Orton.
Guest Quik Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 "When and why was Lanny Poffo arrested?! " August 15, 1987. Somewhere in Chicago, Lanny Poffo was arrested for soliciting a prostitute at roughly 3:30 in the morning. When brought to the station, he was informed that the prostitute was a male in drag who had tested positive for the HIV virus after a previous arrest. Looks like Lanny wasn't that much of a genius.
Lil' Bitch Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I like how they're selling the PPV event T-Shirts. Clever concept with the Cena shirt, but I'll miss out on getting that one.
TheFranchise Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 The Rock figure looks like Randy Orton. Don't start that again..
Slickster Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 Again, WWE has made a shirt that doesn't scream 'I AM A WWE FAN STONECOLDSTONECOLD' Complaining about how shirts make you look like a wrestling fan while at the same time giving props to the "retro" WW logo makes you look like either a hypocrite, or a 'tard. Hey, some people might like the fact it's got a 'Word Life' WWE logo; others might like the fact that it's not *too* conspicuous and makes the shirt still suitable for non-WWE fans. Everybody wins!
King Cucaracha Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I can't be the only one who finds the Cena army shirt to be incredibly tacky. I understand the joke and everything...it just looks...tacky. The only thing remotely interesting me is the old Taker hat. And the Cena visor, strictly for shows only.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Who would have ever thought Rene Dupree's image would be on a WWE shirt?
Lord of The Curry Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 The Cena shirt is cute but for God's sake, camo?! Nobody wears camo anymore. It would've looked better if it had just been white lettering on a black shirt. The camo design kinda ruins it for me.
Anakin Flair Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 If I get any money, I'd love to get the WM 19 jersey.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 (edited) Yes I can. Edited May 15, 2004 by Anglesault
ChrisMWaters Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Yes I can. Anglesault...you're getting more boring than the Bashams with that.
Si82 Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 More from the bargin bin: Another crappy action figure. Lest we forget...or at least try to. That all time classic.
TheFranchise Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 More from the bargin bin: That all time classic. All the advertising Lawler does too! ...
Guest Deviant Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 The review of the HHH water bottle was hilarious. Cena's shirt is an awesome concept, one of the better things WWE marketing has put together in a while what with the double meaning and all. But of course, I wouldn't be caught dead in camo... or Cena merchandise.
Guest Adrian 3:16 Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 The Cena shirt is cute but for God's sake, camo?! Nobody wears camo anymore.
