I concur. I lost all respect for this tourney when Delita Hyral lost to an Earthbound character. Earthbound brings the suck, people.

But my favorite hero and my favorite villain are still here and probably will win, so I think it turned out pretty good.

I can't believe Terra won. How the fuck did she beat Tir is what I'm still wondering. I mean, he fucking TROUNCED his competition till that match up, and he didn't beat slouches either.

 

If I wanted to call shenanigans, that's THE match up I would like to.

I think Delita lost to Zeal, which isn't much better.

 

Luca Blight is the sickest badass in RPG history. He's not my favourite character, but he is certainly the evilest. People complained about Kahran Ramsus not being a real villain, then what the hell do you call Magus?

Actually, Magus nor Kahran really become heroes either. They are basically tweeners that played more evil than good and really only resort to good to get what they want in the end.

 

Magus is really evil, because he was willing to try summoning Lavos earlier than 1999 a.d. and didn't care about the consequences of his actions. He just wished to battle Lavos to hopefully avenge or gain his sister back. Honestly, for all we know, he could summoned Lavos early enough and Lavos would've totalled the world.

 

And of course, if it wasn't because of budgeting problems with Kahran, he might've been a full fledged hero. We'll never know for certain.

Can you really compare Magus to Luca Blight when it comes to evilness? Luca Blight slaughtered entire populations in brutal ways out of pure hatred, and has no problem offing guys on his own side either, including his own family members. Yuber looks downright sane compared to this guy.

 

Not only is he more evil than Magus, he is more of a threat too. Magus gets beat by a talking frog. Luca gets taken down by the entire Dunan Army after he is betrayed by his own people, and it still takes 4 fights spread over about an hour gametime, all the while he is being pelted by archers, and he still only loses after a cheap trick by Shu which allows them to find him again after he had already escaped.

I agree that they are villains, but I get annoyed when people complain about Ramsus not being a real villain because he wasn't completely evil, while saying diddly-squat about Kain and Magus. All three are pretty much in the same category. You can add Jowy Blight to the group too.

 

I don't have a problem with it. Jowy & Ramsus are my two favourite RPG characters. I just find it very hypocritical to not vote for Ramsus because you use evilness as your basis, and then go ahead and vote for the other guys.

Eh the villians final is perfectly fine, both characters are strong and either would make a good winner. The problem is just with the heroes final. Just the last couple rounds you had the wrong people going over. The final eight were looking good, then you just had stupid upsets like Terra over Tyr. Oh well.

I only played Suikoden II because I was bored and wanted a new RPG to play. I went to Blockbuster and it was under their 7-Day Rental label and I happened to have an EGM-Squared with it in, so I rented it. I bought it soon after, and spent the rest of the year trying to track down the first one until they re-released it in the fall. It is not something that got alot of hype, so I could see it slipping through the cracks. It almost did with me.

Well my God, I felt the guy got shafted out of being the lead villian of Suik 2. I mean, come on. He would've been better than Kefka or Sephiroth!

 

But no... Konami has to go out an whack him off because he's too evil. I mean, think about it. It takes that many people to kill off, how hardcore evil can you be? Only person who might be more evil is Galgarion (if you can figure out who this guy is, congrats!).

 

I've only voted Kain for so long because I really think that he's one of the more well thought out (but underutilized) heroes of the FF continunium. I'm just fucking amazed he managed to get to the Finals.

 

I am impressed with Terra being here because for all the moaning a lot of people made about her making it to the Semi-Finals, she did fairly well. Even if I think it is bullshit she waltz over fucking Tir, when Tir had done that to all of his opponents and a few of those opponents weren't easy knock offs. Then again, it is funny in an ironic sort of way that this happened.
