Jeff Foxworthy......

Recommended Posts

I just caught the guy on Comedy central a second ago. Now I've been watching and listening to Jeff Foxworthy since I was a little kid......and the guy has got to be one of the funniest men I've ever heard.

Anyone else a fan?

The thing I wonder is this.....do his jokes transcend to everyone? Or do only southerners and people in the midwest really understand what he's saying?

Anyways......who's a fan?

I love his act and I've listened to most of his Albums...The entire redneck blue collar group are good acts.

He's smarter then people realize and doesn't need to resort to using profanity and "SHOCK" to make you laugh like some people do...

He uses subtle and true jokes about life...while other acts talk fast and bitch about the world and flaunt their ego.

I do not like Redneck humor.

You just gotta understand it! Unless it offends you because it hits to close to home......

Funny thing is.......I've never lived in a trailer park, matter of fact I've never lived in anything but a big house. However my brother was kicked out of the house one time. He had nowhere else to go so he moved in with his trash mother(he's my stepbrother)......in a trailer park. Oh the jokes that I made and the fun I had with that one.......

Foxworthy humor is as entertaining as Chris Rock humor of "White people do this and Black people do this" just replace redneck where needed.

Its good for maybe 15 minutes then it just gets repeative and boring.

I once again disagree with you.

This Larry the Cable Guy is pretty funny to. He's not as funny as Foxworthy though. Although I like the whole Blue Collar Comedy group. Especially where they're all sitting around doing the "Here's your sign!" jokes.

"You gonna buy those pants?"

"No I was going to steal them! Just showing them to you first!"

I thought that Blue Collar tour was great, and Foxworthy is good, although I really don't like his "you might be a redneck" jokes...

That's kinda funny, because that's about the only thing of his that stands out for me. Aside from that though, I just can't get into him. No denying that he's popular though.

Where are you from? I think you have to grow up in an area that's stereotyped for having rednecks.

I know growing up here I've been like "I don't know any rednecks......." and then I hear Foxworthy and I'm like "By gawd! They're everywhere!"

Jeff Foxworthy is a comedian I'd like to trap beneath a lawn mower. His redneck schtick is a one-trick pony, and aside from that his standup is totally unremarkable to me.

He's legitimately extremely intelligent (he's a grad of Georgia Tech, if memory serves --- and that school is damned tough to get in). He's pretty good as far as stand-ups go.

I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, moved to Sappy Valley for a few years (rednecks there), moved to Middletown Ohio (redneck palace) for a few years, and now I'm back in Southwestern PA.

I knew some rednecks, but it veered more toward white trash than redneck-dom...

I guess my thing with Foxworthy is that I just don't relate to most of his comedy so it's hard for me to find humor in it...pretty much black comedians are the only ones that make me laugh and most of them suck anymore (I'm looking at YOU Jamie Foxx), Dave Chappelle being the funniest IMO...the exception to my particular case would be George Carlin, THAT man was gold!

Jeff Foxworthy is a joke as far as standup goes... a Billy Ray Cyrus, one hit wonder... foxworthy mania was a fad... and redneck humor is about as low as fart humor...

Still... he's more entertaining than Rodney Carrington, whom I consider one of the most annoying human beings on the face of the planet

Redneck jokes and Foxworthy are like smashing stuff with a hammer and Gallagher--it's what they're famous for, but people who never saw one of their acts think it is the only thing they do.

He's rather funny.

His redneck jokes aren't even 10% of his act anymore. He's more of a family comic, his tour is still cleaning up when he is on tour and he's easily becoming like the Bill Cosby family comic (well before Bill went bye bye mentally).

I like him, he's nice when I need a chuckle without the cursing and just want to relax.

Some comics are family comics, Foxworthy wisely grabbed onto that crowd and that crowd will make you more than enough money.

I like Ron White.

"Hey, if one of the engines of the plane go out, how far will the other one take us?"

"All the way to the scene of the crash."

Yeah, I thought Ron White stole the show on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

Ron White is pretty god damn funny.

Now I know the act is that he's drunk....but is he really drunk? Like on stage is he really drinking a glass of whiskey or not?

LOVED that line. He was unbelievably funny in that movie.

And it was the first time I'd ever HEARD of him. He was the best there.

Yeah, aside from Bill Engval (sp?), Ron White was far and away the funniest thing on the Blue Collar tour thing. Esp. the part at the end with the four of them out there.

"I got arrested for drunk in public"

"That seems to be a pattern, Ron"

"If you knew morse code you'd already know that"

No. Im pretty sure he's usually hammered.

He's like that uncle we all have that is just more fun drunk.

I have like four Foxworthy cds, several cassettes, 2 Bill Engvall CDs, the Blue Collar Comedy tour DVD, and I'm looking at the Larry the Cable guy CD, and the Ron White Cd.

Foxworthy is great.

I like his stories about his children.

Like when his daughter made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with ritz crackers, and chewed up peanuts and raisins..
