37, eh?

I wonder how much longer Benoit will continue with the WWE...

Considering how long wrestlers usually go before retiring, I'd say 20 more years, unless he drops dead.

It's obvious Benoit is getting old and is past his prime so he should job the title to a member of the younger generation like Triple H.

I agree.

And if not Triple H, what about the new guy on Smackdown?

I think his name is The Undertaker.......

Eh, Bret Hart was 37 in 1992-1993.

Benoit has at least 4-5 great years ahead of him, if Hart is any indication.

Oh, and don't forget, Flair didn't reach his prime until age 41 in his series with Steamboat, so you never know...

Yeah, but Bret and Flair didn't screw up their necks, did they?

Benoit will always be great, but his prime ended in 1997 or so.

Eddie is, or will be, 36. He was born in 1968. If you looked closely on SD, you could see some gray creeping into his facial hair.

You look that closely?

Chris Benoit at 37, is still one of the best North American wrestlers around, but his prime was ages ago. Still a great wrestler and one of the best ever IMO.

My God, Benoit is 37. Give the belt to HHH

No no, wrong.

See wrestlers reach their prime when they turn 33, after that it goes away.

Can someone link to the original "prime" thread? I don't think I've ever had the pleasure to properly read it.

HHH - 33

Undertaker - 42

Rikishi - 37

Booker T - 38

Not sure on Booker, but I'm 100% sure on the others.

That can't be right, in the wrestling with shadows documentary, Bret tells a woman that he just turned 40. No way was he 37 in 1992.

I'd say Benoit has maybe 5 years left as a real wrestler unless something bad happens. But at 37 he is still god, past his prime or not.

And Bret was 35 when he won his first WWF Championship in 1992.

For someone way past his prime, Bret Hart pretty much carried WWE on his back during the dark days of 1993-1996 in the work-rate department.

I'm surprised Flair can still go, considering his "career ending" broken back from 1975. 30 years of taking bumps HAS to do some damage to something that was severely damaged already.

HHH is nearing 35.

Rico is 41!

Bret wasn't past his prime from 1993-1997. It was the peak of his career.
