Guest Cheech Report post Posted May 24, 2004 Has anyone seen the show Trailor Park Boys? Its getting pretty big in Canada, but hasn't caught on in the states yet, but some people do get it. I'm not sure of the time/channel, but if you can find out, watch it. One of (if not the) funniest shows ever.

Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2004 I'm going to make sure to get the DVDs before I move to the States, so that I can show the people I meet just how great Canadian culture can be. I'm also going to try and convince people that TPB represents everyday life in Canada.

treble 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2004 My brothers are obsessed with this show, but I never seem to watch it. One of them bought the Season 3 DVDs, so maybe I'll watch some of them, from what I've seen I've liked.

Brent: I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the cleaning form idea -- but, ya know, Lacey co-owns the bathrooms and she hates change. Lacey: Ah, do whatever you want -- I don't care. Brent: Hmm, seems to contradict the last thing I just said.

Not a Tom Green fan? Simple, stupid humour of his brand is hilarious. I can honestly say that I am a HUGE fan of both Tom Green AND SCTV. Now with that being said, I can say that without a shadow of a doubt in my mind and with no hesitation that Trailor Park Boys is a far better show then the both of them easily, and I have only seen about 7 episodes! Bubbles is Canada newest pop icon, and with good reason

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 It's hands down the funniest show on TV right now, Canadian or not. This is the first Canadian show in a long time to get the exposure it's getting and it's all well deserved. I try and pick a favorite character but there's too many. It might be Lahey. Such a damn drunk.

Such a damn drunk. Bubbles is easily the greatest character ever created. I gotta give props to Corey and Trevor...I feel bad for how they get treated. Poor guys. But they are duuuuumb. As Ricky says "I've seen Cats and Dogs smarter than Corey and Trevor."
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 I enjoy how in this season, Corey and Trevor have gone from being Ricky's bitches to Sarah's bitches. I think the show is among the best on TV, but I'm biased - the show is filmed in my hometown, and as a result, I've met Ricky, Julian and Bubbles twice. Oddly enough, both times we were celebrating a friend's birthday (same guy both times) but were in two different bars. Of course, "met" is a stretch - the first time I merely made a drunken ass of myself, the second I decided they already had enough drunken asses bothering them. I also met Corey one night - he's a wrestling fan, and we happened to be in the same bar watching Summerslam. We had a chat about how fucking annoying it was that the feed was cut for the first match, so we missed Rey Jr. It's always interesting to be watching the show and thinking "hey, I know where that is" too. So...what would you people say is your favourite episode? I think mine is either "The Delusions of Officer Jim Lahey" or "What in the Fuck Happened to Our Trailer Park?" Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 I've got a few faves, it's really really hard to pick just one...... "Who's the microphone assasain?" - J-Roc getting caught - Bubbles rapping - Corey and Trevor rapping ("We've been rockin' the park for a while now") - Lahey's double-barrell shit machine gun analogy and Randy's reaction to it. "I've met dogs and cats smarter then Corey and Trevor" - More C and T hilarity - Ricky shooting himself in the foot while high - J-Roc's crib - Rickys reaction to all the dudes hanging out at J-Rocs - The eventual hookup w/ the two "ladies" "The Delusions of Officer Jim Lahey" - "I'm getting drunk today Randy. Big time." - Kojack got a wig on! - "I am the law. Go get the chains and orange gag balls." - The road hockey game
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 This thing is constantly talked about. I always hear about it, but never had the time to sit down in front of showcase or whatever to watch it. Canada loves it. Is it pretty much Fubar: The TV Series?
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 Yes, only they're not metalheads. They just all live in a trailer park. It's done in the same fake documentary style, only better - I think one of the best scenes ever on the show was where this gunfight broke out, you hear someone scream "HOLY FUCK, I'M FUCKING SHOT!" and when the camera pans over, the boom mike operator is laying on the ground. Fuck is that funny. Bubbles was playing Magnum PI with those Bible-totting fuckers. Ricky was in school still trying to get his grade 10. Randy put on a shirt. Corey and Trevor FINALLY got proprs from their heroes. I still like the Microphonhe Assasin the best though, I think. I have seen all of the episodes, so I have trouble rememberinign which is which. But this one stands out. Mostly because of Bubbles rapping.
art_vandelay 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 How many of you guys have seen the TPB movie? I don't think it's been released on VHS or DVD, but Showcase airs it from time to time. It was essentially the pilot for the tv show. There are a few differences. Ricky and Julian are pet assassins (exactly what it sounds like: people pay them to shoot dogs and cats), there's no Bubbles (although I think Mike Smith was the sound guy in the movie), and the movie is shot in black and white. The tv series loosely begins where the movie ends off. Oh, and as previously mentioned, do check out Fubar. I can't get enough of that film.
