Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 I don't know why, but I was thinking earlier today about actors with superb voice acting skills. For example, Brad Pitt's Mickey the pikey from Snatch sounded pretty convincing to me (What I could understand of it at least). Also good is Michael Caine in Second-hand Lions. Depp's Cap'n Jack sounds pretty good to me, as well. Of course, there are also the flat-out horrible attempts at accents and the like. I can't think of any examples of these off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone can. Huzzah for trying to sound like you're from somewhere else!

For worst, how about Kevin Costner trying to do an English Accent in Robin Hood.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Mark Hamil in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Well, he was pretty much channelling the Joker and the Trickster, so it wasn't a stretch by any means for him. But that leads me to say James Earl Jones in the Star Wars Trilogy. And kudos to anyone who has to do those Twin Peaks-type scenes where you need to speak backwards so that they can play the tape backwards and have you sounding really fucked up speaking "normal". For worst, how about Kevin Costner trying to do an English Accent in Robin Hood. The thing was that Costner KNEW that he couldn't do one so he didn't even bother trying. So, worst accent, probably not. Worst acting, well, that's a different story. He was probably the worst Robin Hood ever, and that includes that Disney fox Robin and Rocket Robin Hood... I know, and I wanted to use him as the Joker for one of my choices, but apparently I can't use animation stuff, so I used the next closest thing.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 David Boreanaz has a god-awful Irish accent anytime you see flashbacks on "Angel" James Marsters & Alexis Denisof have great British accents though, considering they're both American. It's weird hearing them talk normally.

Alexis Denisof is American?! If I remember correctly, he is an American, who was either raised in or went to school in England. His normal voice is...really wierd sounding. And it takes getting used to hearing Marsters talk without the British accent, it's taht convincing. I thought Boreanez did a good Irish accent, though I've never heard a real Irishman speak, so I wouldn't know for sure.
