Undertaker vs. Booker T went to a no-decision after the match was interrupted by Paul Heyman and the Dudley Boyz. Heyman told Taker he was one week to make a decision. He can either join the Dudley Boyz and Heyman in their stable and get back Paul Bareer or he will never see his urn or Paul again. After the cameras stopped, JBL came out and cut a promo on Canada and Taker. He attacked Taker followed by Dupree, Dudley Boyz and Booker T (who was still at ringside). Cena and Guerrero made the save which led to Booker T getting Chokeslamed to end the night. It was a so-so Smackdown.
Mole Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Looks like I'll be watching....ummm...what's on ABC?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Miss Jackie actually beat the Crown Princess of Bikini Contests, Torrie?
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Rudo Tip: If you've stopped watching Smackdown - there is nothing here to bring you back. If you continue to watch Smackdown, then... well... this won't stop you.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 SD will do a 3.5 rating because all the desperate 13 year old boys will watch to see the chicks in bikinis. Sadly, I can imagine that happening. Just read some of the stuff people say here. They act like the WWE Divas are >>>>>>>> Porn.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Smackdown is the suck. Glad to see Taker not put Booker T over. Booker's been on a winning streak lately (that is, everybody who faces him wins) so this will stop Booker's ego from swelling. While HHH and HBK aren't my favorite wrestlers, at least they are heading in the right direction with HitC. How wimpy does SD lok when it's two main rivals have to settle the score in what basicly is a strap match?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 How pathetic is SD for having Bradhsaw booked as a SERIOUS threat to the World Title? I know Holly got a shot, but he was squashed in 6 minutes on PPV and sent back to jobber-ville.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I went to see Smackdown live tonight, and the bloody Divas segment nearly put me into a coma.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I went to see Smackdown live tonight, and the bloody Divas segment nearly put me into a coma. I hope by that you mean it was boring and a waste of time...
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I hope by that you mean it was boring and a waste of time... Yes, boring and a waste of time would be an accurate description. On top of that, we had to listen to Jamie Noble's horrifying voice for the whole segment. That is punishment enough. Noble sounds like he's been castrated.
cbacon Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Shame. Toronto usually gets really good shows no matter how bad the product.
geniusMoment Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I do not get why even 13 year olds would care about the bikini contest. WWE has no balls, the women will be wearing more than they usually wrestle in, especially on network television. Bikini's just do not cut it, you can turn on television and see women in thongs or less on at least one channel virtually any time of the day.
Guest OraleHolmes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 No RVD on this show. I guess the rumors about him being in the dog house are true. (He's been late to a few shows)
Lil' Bitch Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 How pathetic is SD for having Bradhsaw booked as a SERIOUS threat to the World Title? I know Holly got a shot, but he was squashed in 6 minutes on PPV and sent back to jobber-ville. I'm hoping they'll do the same with Bradshaw as the GAB buyrates won't be any better. Charlie / Rico Vs. Kyo Dai looks to be good and that is it.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 No RVD on this show. I guess the rumors about him being in the dog house are true. (He's been late to a few shows) Yeah, that RVD deserves a World Title run for being such a company man. [/sarcasm]
King Cucaracha Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 OMG WORST SMAKCDOWN EVA~! It wouldn't be a spoiler thread without it. Chavo Classic (SR) w/ Chavo Guerrero (JR) d. Funaki via Pinfall after JR knocked Funaki off the top rope and Classic got the pin. Anyone else get worried and think this was, you know...Good 'Ole JR. Classic vs. JR at The Bash. BAH GAWD, WHAT A SEPTIGENARIAN SLOBBAKNOCKA~!
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Whose cornflakes did Rene Dupree piss in to go from US Title contender and stand-in main eventer to jobbing to a guy who just a few weeks ago lost to JBL, and getting pushed aside for a guy who was just Taker fodder? Not that I'm a huge fan of his or anything, but I didn't expect WWE Management to grow tired of him so quickly. I mean, he has a dog! And a French dance! Charisma! Main event talent! All that good stuff! I love the placement of the two tag team matches. Titles what? Forget that, got to put over G-H-B! It's done by two veteran STUDS you know. Won't even start on the Bullrope match. I thought it was a joke.
Art Sandusky Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Whew, no Undertaker victory over Booker T, but no Booker win either... I guess it's the best I could have hoped for.
haVoc Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Did anyone go to this show? Was Dupree the crowd favorite in the match against Rey?
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Rey over Dupree so Jindrak can look strong by beating Rey at the PPV. Wow, bad show, but I'll still be watching/taping. Jamie Knoble = ratings. Great job w/ Book on SD. They could have built him up to have a run w/ Eddie through the summer, where Book would be a credible challenger ( ::gasp:: ). Instead they opt to massage Taker's ego, leaving Book dead in the water for a lame feud w/ Cena.
Guest Goodear Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 The one overshadowing problem with this show and pretty much every Smackdown since Big Show tossed Angle off the stage is that nothing freaking happens. There is no character or feud development on a weekly basis that is required for the momentum of a show to work off of. Take the Rico and Haas team for instance, what exactly has changed for them since they got together and won the tag team titles? Exactly nada. They could have run all manner of threads through that story but instead we just have Rico kissing guys and Charlie hitting the German for a month strait. Honestly, is Charlie cool with the partnership now? Is he only sticking around because of the title belts? Does he really wanna bang Jackie? When you don't have great characters (and Smackdown really doesn't) you need to make your actual plots worth watching and that is simply not happening.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Did anyone go to this show? Was Dupree the crowd favorite in the match against Rey? Rey Rey was very much the crowd favourite. He had the solid support of the crowd, but Dupree did get a nice reaction when he came out with Fifi.
Lord of The Curry Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Did anyone go to this show? Was Dupree the crowd favorite in the match against Rey? Rey was still the crowd favorite, though Dupree did a surprisingly big pop. Our section was marking out for THE DANCE and there were some scattered "Fifi" chants going on. Question: Dupree, Conway, Grenier. All heels. All French. Yet Dupree carries the French flag whereas Grenier and Conway rock the Quebec flag. What's the deal w/ that?
Guest Trivia247 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Did anyone go to this show? Was Dupree the crowd favorite in the match against Rey? Question: Dupree, Conway, Grenier. All heels. All French. Yet Dupree carries the French flag whereas Grenier and Conway rock the Quebec flag. What's the deal w/ that? Rene didn't get the memo from Conway and Grenier too represent Quebec the lil sister of Paris. Raw to smackdown mail is so slow.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 They just decided to stay with Dupree hailing from France, while changing Le Res to hailing from Quebec. I don't recall any reason, it just happened.
Lord of The Curry Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Continuity: Don't look for it in the WWE.
Guest Goodear Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Oh yeah, because when I look at the large gapping problems with the WWE, the first thing that comes to mind is that La Res changed flags but Rene Dupree didn't. Good thing we have nitpicking crap like that to worry about... continuity can suck it, make the damn shows fun to watch again is the first damn priority.
