Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I just look into a PPV as positive as possible...unless it out-right looks horrible like Judgment Day, and even then I was giving several under-card matches a chance. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 I think it makes the message clear that when the PPV bombs, we all know who will be blamed.

Well, I like Conway and think the match'll be decent. Just...not *** decent.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Kane of course. Every time he has a PPV Title Match, he's emediately shfited down the card jobbing to Test or someone else who sucks.
Aero 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Maybe it's just me, but I'd say that double-duty means that Benoit-Kane goes on last, and not HIAC. Just like Judgment Day 2002, it'll go HIAC, then the Women's Title or Eugene-Coach, then Benoit-Kane. And of course, the opening match is Benoit & Edge vs. La Rez. I don't mind having two Benoit matches, because they both have the potential to be good. I thought last weeks Tag Title match was fairly entertaining. I would order the show, but my PPV box is broken.

Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted June 8, 2004 I'm starting to think 1 of the 2 Benoit matches will be a quick screwjob type thing. Possibly the title match since there has been no significant build to it at all. Maybe the Kane/Lita storyline continues in some way. I definitely think the HIAC will be last. Not only is it logistically tough, but all their promotion has been around that angle.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 8, 2004 The ONLY Kane will win the title if it's another one day or a week long reign. Benoit/Edge is the current Main Event for Vengeance, but that could change, but I doubt that. They are already teasing it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 8, 2004 I still think that HIAC will head line...it kind HAS to. 18 months of hype should go over a quickie meaningless 2 week angle with no purpose. Le Lez Vs Edge/Benoit will likely jerk the card and I'm convinced Le Rez will work over Benoit knee or more intelligently his neck for about 15 minutes and Edge does the Owen act and they lose the match and Edge snaps for good and hits the edgeucution on benoit's already fragile neck. Then...After the next 6 matches and during the show...they show medical staff tending to Benoit's neck...Edge leaves as todd grisnam tries to get a word with him and edge cuts a screw benoit promo... Bischoff tries to take the title from Benoit as he lays on the table and Benoit snaps it back...Bischoff says if he doesn't come out there...not only will he lose the match but will forfeit the title on the SPOT and wouldn't get a rematch. Kane finds Lita...whom somehow won the Woman's title and grins and breathes and all that jazz and talks about how they will each share a belt and Matt attacks but Kane thwarts him off as Lita tends to him... Kane goes out...taunts Benoit and claims the title is his and asks the ref to count to 10...and benoit...naturally arrives as the ref starts to say 10. Benoit pulls a bret and wins after 20 minutes of goodness. Benoit limps out...STANDING O... 25 minute HIAC Video Package...then HIAC. HHH and HBK open their own Red Cross blood bank. HHH goes over... Shows goes off Air...HHH taunts the crowd...Benoit comes out...crossfaces HHH.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted June 8, 2004 I don't see any way Kane wins the belt. If there had been a huge build up to this, maybe, but as it stands, I go on record as guaranteeing BEnoit leaves with the belt.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 HIAC should only go on last if the title is on the line, IMO. HBK / HHH can do it in between the show like Austin / HHH did at NWO, granted that wasn't a HIAC match, but it had A LOT of hype around it along with them having "bitter hatred" for each other. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted June 8, 2004 It's also not going to be held in bizzaro world so I can't see a La Res, WWE style tag match which won't be anything other than slow, partly so as not to burn out Benoit and not being held in Quebec going ***. Benoit does not burn out.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Conway and Grenier have yet to produce a good televised match, IMO. The match in Canada was awful against Benoit/Edge.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 I don't see Lita doing a run out. and the way its sounding like in the vingettes is that shes slowly no longer being afraid of him as she is like shes more irritated sooner or later she could probably turn heel with him. I would order the show, but my PPV box is broken. Remember in 2001, Benoit did Double Duty as well when he was Jericho mystery partner AND had a kick ass long match with Angle. He didnt need to go 1st and last, and he wont have to be in all that much in this years Tag match, so I still stand with HIAC going last.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 9, 2004 and then he went 15 minutes in a classic the night after that and threw his body around the day after that... No wonder he fucked his neck up two weeks later...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Well Benoit wrestling in a TLC match the day after Bad Blood is HIGHLY unlikely. He's working with Kane, who is never been known to hurt his opponents, and of course, La Resistance member Sylvain Grenier who nearly killed Spike last year. But I don't see Benoit getting hurt for wrestling two matches in one night. Rememeber the nasty suplex onto the table at WM XX? Now that looked like it would be seriously painful. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 9, 2004 I didn't say that he was going to hurt again...I was just adding to RRSH's thread where he mentioned that Benoit's "2" matches in one night also factored two grueling matches right after that. I really doubt any worker in the modern era(wwe attitude era) has worked three days straight with *THAT* type of run
Guest INXS Report post Posted June 9, 2004 You know, that's a good perspective. If the PPV bombs it will prove Benoit as not being a drawing champion in the sense that Benoit is the champ going in to the PPV. It should not be overlooked however that he was put into an instafued with Kane and that the HIAC match is the main selling point.

I was more scared when Benoit was in te turnbuckle upside down and put his foot up to counter HHH irishwhipping Michaels into him. So much could possably go wrong there as far as injury goes for Benoit. Scary spot. But it was the superkick Benoit took that probably won bump of the night honours. I was surprised to see Benoit's head remain on after that.
