I've decided to watch it now that they've gotten past the reality show crap.

Didn't like any of the sets-- until Alonzo's. What was I missing? That was hilarious.

I'll tune in next week.

EDIT: I called them "sketches"? They were sets, not sketches. I must have had a mild stroke.

Welcome to the show.

Just so you know, LCS 3 is all comedy showdowns...

You were missing ANT being a bitch and Corey nearly killing him for making racist comments. Todd Glass acting the fool in the house to annoy everybody. Gary go on back-to-back showdowns and winning. And the Roast of Jay London.

All right. From favorite to least favorite...

Alonzo

Jay

Kathleen

Gary

John

Tammy

Now, if you're wondering why John is so low, it's because I have seen this EXACT SAME ROUTINE before on his Comedy Central Special, and while it was rather funny then, it's not like routines like Carlin's Seven Words You Can't Say on Television where it's still funny after the first time you hear it.

Alonzo, meanwhile, fucking KILLED. I have no doubt in my mind that he is definitely the best on the show, and if he loses I have a feeling it will be because during the reality show portion he didn't really get to do much other than be funny whilst both John and Gary were portrayed sympathetically (and I have nothing against either man, I think they're both funny, but the same thing happened with Dat Phan and look what happened), and perhaps Jay was too to some extent. But, shit, Alonzo is just awesome and I really, really hope he comes out on top.

Sorry to disagree here guys, but I don't think 'Zo connected enough with the TV audience, and Kathleen I think, looked very nervous. I pick the 1st 3 of the night...

Jay

John

Gary

It's true.

I did two each for John, Kathleen, and Alonzo.

Imagine that final.

All I know is that it'll be funny. Actually any combination of 3 of the 6 that doesn't include Tammy would be funny...

Especially if they get to do longer sets. I'm hoping each of the three finalists gets at least a ten-minute set.

Incidentally, can you imagine what a thirty-minute Jay London special on Comedy Central would be like? I really don't think his material translates well to that kind of format.

I think he'd have to tone down the self-depreciation, but then he'd come off as more of a Steven Wright clone. But you're right - 22 minutes of "Thank you's" and "This is death" would get old around 4 minutes in...

Tammy still sucks. Todd Glass was still robbed...twice.

That was Alonzo's best set and probably got him in the final three with Kathleen and either John or Gary.

Jay London is still a wildcard in the game. His last set wasn't that strong but it got him in the finals, people just like him.

Speaking of violence...

I'm sicilian and not all sicilians are in the mafia, some are in the witness protection program...[/Tammy's only joke]

Now, that's not true. She's got lots of jokes. It's just that most of them aren't funny...

There we go...

I'm expecting something big out of Gary tonight for some reason...

Gary's set was pretty sub-par. It sounded like something he ripped off from Seinfeld, especially the bit about milk.

Alonzo is a lock, and I think anyone else (except for Gary) has a shot. This will be a pretty close vote.

Got that right. For reasons that I can't fathom, the two guys at RNO loved Tammy's set. which gives me the fear that she might possibly make the finals.

There's no one at RNO with any credibility anyway. Check out the guy they got to write The Amazing Race recap for this week. Hell, check out the one from last week too. I could've written a better review than those guys...when I was in the SIXTH GRADE.

He was good for a while, then he degenerated with the "Sentimental Favourites" crap, which really clouds his opinions. But, I need something to tide me over until the TWoP recap comes out.

The two guys doing LCS aren't bad, but their opinions of the comics really clash with mine. The site owner and Sting7 are also good recappers. All the other regular contributors are horrid.

What bugged me about last week's recap was how they said Colin was the best racer, while Christie was the worst racer because she couldn't do the caviar very well. First of all, I wouldn't have been able to eat caviar very well with Creepy Intense Colin hovering over me either. Second, she might want to check out exactly what's in the caviar before passing judgment.

But, there I go, hijacking the LCS thread...

I know who you're talking about - that's Betsy, who is probably the worst columist that they have. I've learned to avoid any article that she writes. Mike and Dale seem like the only two people on the site that care about LCS. I like their tag team style, but like I said before, I just disagree with their opinions of who was best.
