razazteca Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Considering that Jake was one of the three people who went around the usual promotional tours to hype up the movie I think it is fair to say that the hollywood execs are attempting to make him a upper midcard star. Just look at the usual gossip shows like ET, Extra, or the cable channels. All I see is this week at the premier of (insert movie) Jake and his love of the moment Kristen Durst were seen being photographed by the paparazzi at the redcarpet. And there has been several rumors about Jake taking the lead role in some soon to be major blockbuster franchises featuring superheroes. So the Jake mega-push has begun. Even though I do not like it I cannot overlook the obvious..........the studios want Jake to be a huge star. I am pointing it out now because I fear that Jake will take one of the big roles and it will bomb. I don't want to see a big franchise cutoff at the legs because they tried to push Jake too soon.
Yuna_Firerose Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 The only reason I watched this was, in all honesty, to see Johnny Depp win 'Best Male Award'. Call me a fangirl if you wish but..it's something I'm already totally aware of The psycho-hospital 'intros' between each category were beyond creepy and totally made no sense. In other, sorta-related news, I shall mourn the loss of Depp's blonde hair by buying Secret Window. ....Hey, it makes sense if you read it cross-eyed. Or something like that. 'Spray painted popcorn...?' - Johnny Depp

I'll admit the blond hair was indeed a good look for Depp. I barely recognized him when I first saw him in the commercials. Anyone like to give a summary of what won what? I know MTV's awards mean jack squat, but I'm curious anyway.

Uh..not much else went on besides that. Some lame intro with Ms. Lohan where she danced and stuff, other than not, pretty uneventful.
bobobrazil1984 Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Usually the MTV awards have some fun moments (the Gollum swearing up a storm being my favorite in recent memory), but this show was so dreadfully dull I couldn't watch it all.

If I wanted to do all that work, I wouldn't have asked! *sees main page* THE HORROR!!!...*scrolls to the awards site* Bah, lame flash crap to make me unnecessarily click extra times. I don't care that much.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 I liked seeing D-12 dress up as Guns N' Roses, especially seeing seeing Eminem dressed up as Axl Rose. G n' F'n Roses for life!
Scroby Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 So Paris Hilton was running around interviewing huh....yeah I'm glad I missed it.
