Downhome Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com Coupon Code: SUMMERSALE You can get Chappelle Show for $11.91, Simpsons Season Four for $23.91, and tons of other (what I'd call at least) great deals. I would have put this in the DVD deals thread, but I figured this one is too good to just simply post in the bottom of that thread, that some don't even read about. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
PsychoDriver Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Cool, thanks for the heads up. I love these sales...
Nevermortal Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Bah. I wish there was another way to pay besides Credit Card.
Guest nugget Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Thank you!!!! I can stock up on some tv sets!! Where'd you hear about this sale and do you know how long it will last?
Downhome Posted June 18, 2004 Author Report Posted June 18, 2004 I read about it at DVDTalk, and it ends on 6/25. I also believe that you can only use the code ONCE, so make sure you get everything you want. I'm going to wait untill Tuesday to do it, so I can get Reno 911 for possibly $13 or so, depending if they price match the BestBuy price.
Anakin Flair Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Does this mean you'll FINALLY get me my DVD's? I love pulling this out of the ether every so often...
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Heh. Hopefully this doesn't end like the one last week that wasn't supposed to be released. Regardless, cash is too tight to be spending anything, so this sale does nothing for me, unfortunately.
Hank Kingsley Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 So, how fast is the shipping, usually?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I read about it at DVDTalk, and it ends on 6/25. I also believe that you can only use the code ONCE, so make sure you get everything you want. I'm going to wait untill Tuesday to do it, so I can get Reno 911 for possibly $13 or so, depending if they price match the BestBuy price. "DeepDiscountDVD.com will not apply a price match and a DeepDiscountDVD.com coupon on the same order. " Oh, and Im going to get the Simpsons Season 4 for $23. You didn't even mention the fact that its free shipping.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Even the free shipping is fast. I've bought from there four or five times and always used free shipping. I never waited more than a week for the package to arrive, so it's solid shipping and service.
Downhome Posted June 18, 2004 Author Report Posted June 18, 2004 There are more also, and you can use each code once. Here are all of the active codes. DVDTALK SUMMERSALE DEEPDISCOUNT USATODAY KLSX PRICESEARCH
Guest slacklet Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Remember that "50 Horror Movie Classics Megapack" someone brought up here a few months back? Apparently the same company is releasing new titles this week. One that caught my eye was the "100 Classic Cartoons Megapack". Now I know some of you wrote-off the Horror set because the DVD's came in cardboard sleeves as opposed to a better form of packaging. But for archival purposes, these sets aren't bad at all. The runtime for the "100 Classic Cartoons Megapack" is 2778 Minutes. That's over 46 hours of cartoons on 12 discs. The video quality probably isn't anything to write home about, but for an animation buff like me that's a pretty sweet deal. I'm going to wait until it's released Tuesday to get the 20% off. Click here for other Megapack selections available at DeepDiscountDVD
Hank Kingsley Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Sweet. I just got the Mystic River 3-disc special edition, Butch/Sundance, and the Usual Suspects for $42.95. Thanks for this, Downhome.
notJames Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I just ordered a bunch of DVDs for $130, but unfortunately, Simpsons Season 4 and Trainspotting SE were out of stock. Oh well, for those prices, I'll wait a little longer for them. Thanks for the tip!
Nevermortal Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I believe that the sale ended....I tried to do it today with my new debit card and it wouldn't take any of the discount codes.
Downhome Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yep, it's over, been over for a while now. I ended up getting a few great deals though, so I'm happy. They more than likely wont have another sale like this untill Christmas, as they did this past year.
Nevermortal Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Meh. I guess I'll be happy with the already good savings there. Site is really fucking slow though.
Jobber of the Week Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 They are really horrible at following through and sending stuff you buy to you. Good luck.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 They are really horrible at following through and sending stuff you buy to you. Good luck. Now that's odd. Bruiser mentioned earlier that even the free shipping didn't last that long. Perhaps you experienced an anomaly? Every business has a hiccup every now and then.
Hank Kingsley Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I ordered during the sale, and the DVDs got to me within 4-5 days with free shipping.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 They are really horrible at following through and sending stuff you buy to you. Good luck. Was the item in stock? I tried ordering stuff and it wasn't til my order was placed that I realized it was out of stock and I ended up cancelling the order.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I officially love this site. ARMY OF DARKNESS in 1.85 aspect ratio is five bucks or so cheaper than the full frame version. AWESOME.
Downhome Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 They ship very fast to me also, I've never had to wait over a week for an item.
Guest Askewniverse Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Is 1.85:1 the original aspect ratio for Army of Darkness? I have the Boomstick Edition, which has an aspect ratio of 1.66:1.
Guest SP-1 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Not a clue. I'd like to find out which one is correct and buy it.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I live in Michigan, so maybe that has something to do with the fast delivery. Regardless, I've never had to wait more than a week on anything that was already in-stock. Even some items that weren't in stock got shipped within a week of my order.
