Marty Janetty was baptised at the Athletes International Ministries conference this weekend, an event attended by both Shawn Michaels and Sting. Some highlights of the interview, available in full at VOW: - Marty was getting ready to kill himself, when a phonecall came from Shawn Michaels, who claims to have been trying to call him for around two years. Shawn invited him to the conference, and Marty credits that call for saving his life. - Sting was also at the event, and said he's had talks -- that are now on hold -- with Vince to come to WWE. - Shawn started thinking about Marty and other topics at Curt Henning's funeral. One video package and everyone will know whats what, and then lets not forget about J.R. explaining it until hes red in the face, and if the fued is about jealously then you know there past would come up more then once. Actually, just look at the picture: The guy looks like a fucking zombie. IS he that much older than Shawn? You gotta wonder if they will consider the inevitable Rockers/Hardyz showdown... Don't get me wrong...I dont' want a permant return of the rockers...Just an One night only type deal where Shawn has his back against the wall and needs a partner to face Orton and Batistia...He, while in the back in a prayer stance hears a knock and a voice that says "Here I am" and Shawn smiles as they go to commercial and Shawn's music plays but he doesn't come out but the old familar rocker music pumps through and Shawn and Marty come running out like crazy with the crowd likely popping and Orton will oversell the reaction. Shawn and Marty win and they kinda seperate as partners but say "close" and Marty does heat duty with the richards and Venis's of the land. They were quite successful, the team thats starts with the word new failing rule only applys when its a new version of a old tag team, New Rockers, New Blackjacks, New Midnight Express. Also if a team ends with a number like 2000, Tekno Team 2000, or LOD 2000, yup sadly even the greatest tag team of all time flopped when 2000 was added to the end of the name....Giving a tag team a name that starts with New & ends 2000 is just a death warrent....So yes I am waiting for The New Edge & Christian 2000. WHY is attire so important to wrestling fans? I remember reading dozens of posts of ticked off fans after SummerSlam 2002 because Shawn Michaels wasn't wearing his broken heart tights. And then angry fans because Undertaker didn't wear purple gloves or a purple tie at WrestleMania XX. So the most important thing about a wrestler's comeback-- is his attire? Why does this matter so much? Is it because you remember the wrestler through his attire, not his wrestling? Is it because you can remember your favourite moments through picturing the attire (Shawn wearing those ugly white heart pants at WMXII)?
