Few things.

 

1. "Nicca you iz banned" is most definitely a SNKT thing, not a WDI thing, and I find it extremely retarded.  Just ban someone, don't make a show out of it.

 

2. WDI's IP tools are down and have been for some time.  If/when they start working again I'll run some checks.

 

3. On a personal note, I can't imagine that Beau was/is Gheyme, but, then again, Gheyme is...an odd fellow.  So who knows.

 

4. Now, this is important.  For those decrying -iB-'s banning...you had five days of warning and no one said a word.  If this bothers you so much, why didn't you speak up when it might have actually helped?

I'm not sure what was so uptight about this anyway, but then again you've never been one to need a reason to play that card.

 

Josho -- I see the point, it's just that the tone of the threads (and more specifically, the titles) seems almost celebratory. I dunno, I'm not a fan. I figure if someone is banned, a simple announcement in a thread leading to the ban is enough. I guess in -iB-'s case, though, with the countdown, some sort of statement was necessary.

I wouldn't say surly. I just don't agree with the way TSM's going and don't care to engage in meaningless "flame wars" with the standard band of Hardcore Discussion All Stars about it. I'd rather just pop in, voice my disagreement, and be done. I've always had a weakness for responding to an obvious bait, though. It's something I've been trying to stop.

Of course its all a big joke. My using the term All Stars was meant to denote how much of a joke "power" on an internet message board is. Not quite a WOOOSH since I should have made that clearer.

 

At the end of the day I'm just not very fond of the way TSM is going. The "leadership" seems to be focused on banning what they term to be "stupid people" instead of focusing on some of the trolls who seem to always find their way around the rules and get away with it. But then alot of times those people are buddies with someone else or find some unique way to cling on to the board so nothing ever comes of it.

A joke as in funny though. You're apparently saddened by it, which I find saddening. The funny/sad thing is that I don't know if the All Stars are in on the joke. They very well could be. And by The All Stars I mean Banky.

 

But no... I do find it somewhat difficult to get involved in these sort of things, because when it comes down to it, I really just don't care one way or the other. I can't judge aspects good or bad, it's just an id. A simmering pot of everything and nothing, to which I gain nor lose anything. Thought, being or existance have no meaning, and I can no more rationalize anything than I could justify a cloud.

 

Like, you know you never hear about government cheese anymore? A few years ago it was a common subject for jokes and the like, anything remotely related to poverty had to have government cheese involved somehow. Now, government cheese only has relevance to the people that eat it.

 

I don't know what that had to do with anything. But it's there. And that's what TSM is to me. Government cheese.

Understandable. I find myself caught in that strange place of . . . remembering the fun I used to have here unwinding or while I was working on other projects. While it's a minor thing, when I'm online and there's nothing else going on I do enjoy TSM and the conversations here. Or at least, I did. I think it's not so much that TSM is important enough to sadden me, but rather it's that there are people in my daily life that sadden me for various reasons and I think the textual world of TSM and the problems I see here are like a very base stereotype of alot of those hypocritical and fake things in the people around me that have me in a reflective mood. That was an atrocious run-on sentence, but I think I made a clear point there.

 

At the end of the day I'm indifferent as to the fate of the board. But it was kinda fun insofar as the small purpose it served. Just kinda sucks seeing it turn into what its turning into. It's been happening for a while though. Favorites have been played and its simply the way things are and the way they're going to be. And that's fine. I'll just stick to Movies/TV and OAOAST with the occasional CE and Comics/Literature appearances until I'm either banned for some ludicrous reason or another or I finally get bored with it totally and stop posting.
