Pick up the hardcover of the first story arc of Superman/Batman by Loeb and Mcguiness. Fun story and a cheap hardcover to make your shelf look fuller.

It seems you're using an oxymoron here. "Cheap" and "hardcover" don't really seem to go hand in hand. Is it really that cheap, since it collects about 6-7 issues only? If it is then I might consider picking it up, even if I usually stay away from all Superman stuff.

It collects the first six issue story arc and it's $20 suggested, but you can get it on Amazon for $14.

Watchmen

The Dark Knight Returns

Kingdom Come

Ronin (Frank Miller does Samurai Jack years before Cartoon Network)

Sandman, Book 1

League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Vol. 1

Battle Royale, Vol 1.

Dark Phoenix Saga

X-Tinction Agenda (Yeah, I know - ain't it crazy?)

And, finally, a hardcover version of Welcome Back, Frank, which covers that whole plotline, a special "dentistry" issue, and The Punisher Kills The Marvel Universe. Depending on where you shop, you may be able to get this at a HUGE bargain (I snagged mine for $15).

Watchmen

Dark Knight Returns

Batman: Long Halloween

Arkham Asylum

Concrete

Sin City

Hellblazer (the one's used for the upcoming movie)

Ronin

Kingdom Come (not bad, not too impressed though. Is Marvels better?)

Need to get my hands on:

Other Alan Moore works (From Hell, V for Vendetta...maybe Killing Joke also)

Batman: Hush

Marvels

Sandman (want to find what all the hype's all about)

Preacher (same reason as above)

Any good Punisher GN/TPB titles to recommend? Is there a Suicide Run TPB?

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds by Hayao Miyazaki is a classic. I think they're releasing an unflopped version, so look for that, if not, get the perfect collection editioins. Also, Azumanga Daioh by Kiyohiko Azuma is very good(the first volume's translation in shaky, but about halfway through a better translated took over and everything is right with the world, with Yukai teaching English, not Spanish and all) and Excel Saga by Koshi Rikdo is also very good. Oh, and Dragonball(not necessarily DBZ, which came afterward) and Sandland are both nice Akira Toriyama works. Sandland comes in one volume, it's a short manga. You might also like GTO aka Great Teacher Onizuka. I'm not sure who wrote it though.

Is western a dirty word for you?

No, I'm a huge Marvel mark, but I don't know it well enough outside of a few collections like a few Essentials and Death of Gwen Stacy(which I did like quite a bit). Those and cartoons are primarily how I know my superheroes.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Y: The Last Man. Actually, anything by Brian K. Vaughn is worth checking out, Mystique and Runaways rule too.

For mangas, I have these in my collection:

Dragonball (from the arrival of Goku's brother onwards)

Slam Dunk (the whole stuff)

3x3 Eyes

Crayon Shin Chan (I'm serious...I enjoyed it for some reason)

Doraemon (please don't make fun of me)

Also have read certain volumes of Rurouni Kenshin, GTO (wacky!), Ah! My Goddess, Love Hina...that's it, I think. A friend of my heavily pimped Azumanga Daioh and Excel Saga (manga or anime form) to me...wonder if I would like it.

If you have a soul, you'll like the Azu anime(ie I can almost guarantee you will). The manga, especially with the roughness of the first half of the first volume, is something you may want to thumb through before you pick up. Excel Saga is more quirky, and the experienc with the anime will be greatly helped if you are familiar with a good amount of anime(although the ADVid Notes help). Do not pick up Puni Puni Poemi if you didn't like the last episode of Excel Saga, though, because the concept is very similar(ie a lot of sexual humor). The manga seems to be less concerned with parody but its not your run of the mill manga by any stretch of the imagination.

X-Tinction Agenda (Yeah, I know - ain't it crazy?)

Hey, I like that one, too! My favorite X-crossover ever, with one of the most kick-ass fights in X-Men vs Cameron Hodge.

I just picked up Welcome Back, Frank on Monday. Very good story writen by Garth Ennis. A shot in arm for The Punisher series, and I liked it very much. It's pretty much the whole movie, and I'll give it a A-. I'm heading back to Borders Saturday to pick up the rest of them, there like 10 Dollars a Peice. The one I'm looking for is the Wolverine one where he shoot's him in the groin, drops a bomb on him, and runs him over with a Steamroller. I'm thinking of picking up some Batman one's later. Any good one's that I should up?

Kingdom Come (not bad, not too impressed though. Is Marvels better?)

yes. Marvels is better and is highly recommended.

If you like Spiderman, track down 229-230 (Spidey vs. Juggernaut) not sure if it's collected in a TPB and

Spiderman vs. Venom (which collects Spidey 300, and 315-317 which was an *awesome* introduction to a really cool rogue.) Unfortunately, they tampered with the Venom character, but he's in all his glory here.

I *highly* recommend Daredevil: Born Again

Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn, Emerald Dawn II and Emerald Knights

X-Men: Days of Future Past

(watchmen and dark knight returns go without saying)

If you want to collect some Classic X Stories all at once get the Wizard Masterpice Edition. It had Dark Phoenix, Days of Future Past, Proteus, Deamon (A kitty pride solo story) and I Magneto. I loved it and it gave me a greater appreciation for the X Men.

Nice haul. With a lot of the discounts on GN's from amazon, it doesn't pay to buy the original issues.
