The One And Only Great American Bore Thread

Recommended Posts

Well OBVIOUSLY the Undertaker feared for his life from Bearer and was forced to defend himself!

YOU ALL SAW IT! It was self defense! Bearer was ummm he was ummm about to burst and kill us all! Yeah, that's it. See, if the Undertaker didn't kill him then we'd all be dead right now. Taker is a hero! It had to be this way, he was sorry but it was either Bearer or the World.

Now excuse me, I'm going into the corner to cry.

"Dear WWE Fan Services,

I hereby demand a refund for the amount I paid for your latest SmackDown! brand pay-per-view, "The Great American Bash". Not even the title of the program could deliver.

First, the show did not deliver in terms of quality, therefore, it does not deserve the prefix "The", making this "Great American Bash". Not "The Great American Bash", because "the" should be reserved for other things. Like "the" alcohol I had to consume to get through this.

Next, the show which I paid my hard-earned money for, certainly wasn't "great". This leaves it as "American Bash".

Furthermore, seeing as how you have degraded the title "American", I would kindly ask that in future years, this event be held in Serbia.

And lastly, the only bashing that went on here was my head smacking against the wall, trying to comprehend why John Layfield won the WWE's (former) top title.

So, after taking away the show's main title, what do you have left? Nothing. WHICH IS WHAT THIS SHOW WAS WORTH, YOU SICK BASTARDS

DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE

:firing: :firing: :firing: :firing:

Sincerely,

I cannot explain it, I hear everyone rave about it and tried watching it. I just cannot get into it, I do enjoy the workrate its just that nothing really draws me into it. I will probably get ripped on for this, but I have a hard time getting into something when it is in front of 500-1000 fans in a local gym. ECW was my favorite promotion and I realize they ran in small venues, it just seemed to me like they were a major promotion, even if they were not. I loved the raws in the manhattan center, also a small venue, but once again it still appeared as if the WWF was a major promotion, which they were.

I see ROH as just a small indy with no real shot of getting a lot bigger. Hopefully I am wrong.

One question. Is this one of those

EVIL HEEL AUTHORITY FIGURE SCREWS THE FACE BY...FOLLOWING THE RULES!

Like when Bisch "screwed" HBK in December, when HBK pinned himself? Did Bradshaw *really* win the match?

Ok..... I think I need to explain something to you guys....

Your reaction to JBL winning.... was what they wanted. They knew everyone expected Eddie Guerrero to come out the champion. They knew the fans... the smarks and marks alike would either a. shit on Bradshaw or b. go nuts and bomb the WWE with hate mail. This was the reaction they desired. This is why they did it. So if everyone would calm down... and show them that no one cares.... then the WWE will realize that they didn't get the desired reaction. But hey, I can't speak for WWE...

Carry on.

Well since they do the exact opposite, how about this

Dear WWE,

I am shocked at the brillance in the offices of Titan Towers! To give a man as deserving as John Bradshaw Layfield the World title is a stroke of genius and whoever made the decision deserves a raise. I would like to give that person a hearty handshake.

Congrats and kudos,

Now I feel like I should shower for a few days.

I personally think that is stupid.

Are you a wrestling fan or a Entertainment fan?

If you are a wrestling fan, the location should mean dick...

and it's not meant to be a big promotion...it was created for RF to have good wrestling content to sell...

ROH has certaintly delivered time and time again on that promise...while the pretty wwe gives us Bradshaw/Cena/Kezno/Moredeaci as top line performers.

I want good wrestling, but I also want good storylines to help sell the matches. I will not deny ROH has good matches, I just cannot get into the product, sorry. To me it would be like watching two high school kids wrestling at the local gym in a match equivalent to a flair/steamboat classic, the match may be good but to me it is just not the same.

Thats the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard in my life. PERIOD.

CM PUNK vs Samoa Joe or Danielson Vs Styles is nothing remotely close to "high school kids" and that is easily the dumbest statement of all time, and it's people like you who prove how WWE has ruined wrestling.

I THINK he's pointing out how a lot of the Indy workers look very...bland. Look at AmDrag. Someone tell him to get a tan...of any kind. He's white as a ghost. You can't market that look, and in WWE, skill doesn't matter.

'll give you that Am.Drag is "bland" looking...but if Billy Gunn is the anti-bland looking...

I'll stick with bland.

Who cares if you can't market that? If by watching a great classic match like almost anything Danielson does, and you can only think "gee he needs a tan"...you should just watch weight lifting instead of Wrestling because then you are just missing the point. The basic and bottom line is this, if the asthetics of the match are so important to you why are you even watching wrestling? aren't you the one who couldn't get into the flair/windham match on the dvd because it was too dark? What kind of fan are you when the pretty lights and the "look" of the worker is important over the great wrestling content? A wwe puppet.

Personally, I don't need an announcer killing my ability to get into a match by TELLING ME "THIS is how you do a head lock!" or "THIS is pro wrestling!" or "This is no sorry ass Sports Entertainment!"... god what douches.

PRIDE, on the other hand, has very good announcers and is more professional looking than not only ROH, but the WWE as well.

News about the PPV:

Great American Bash Booking Mix-Up

It seems as the though the storyline notes used to book tonight's "Great American Bash" pay-per-view were not, in fact, storyline notes. They were actually pages from a journal that Bruce Prichard writes all of his dreams down in.

Fortunately the audience was spared having the top babyface show up to school to take a test he hadn't studied for, while being naked the entire time.

Plans are for the entire PPV, as well as the last year of storylines, to be undone with Thursday's show opening with Undertaker (as a biker) waking up and finding Paul Bearer in his shower.

It had also been confirmed that, despite the use of cowbell at the GAB PPV, Christopher Walken is not working for WWE at this time.

Okay, not really... :D

This is pro wrestling (where we all no sell and can't tell a story).

My favourite was Red/Jay Brisco, the commentators pimping it as a technical classic.

Or after some pointless chain wrestling "We've just seen a clinic" (yeah in pointless crap)

Relax, man. By now you should know that "they look like kids in a gym!" is a standard defense mechanism for people who don't like indy wrestling.

This is pro wrestling (where we all no sell and can't tell a story).

I can't stand the ROH announcers either....but you say that as if ROH wrestlers can't possibly sell or tell a story. Which simply isn't true.

True, I always forget about Danielson, London and Spanky. Danielson especially, kick him in the leg once and you get a limp, that's what I like to see in a match.

Besides a lot of them being pretty young and wrestling in a lot of gyms, making the statement pretty true. Should we hallucinate up some 30 year olds wrestling in the Superdome or something?

True, that is consistent with WWE logic. Take the dumbest most ridiculous route possible, one that will obviously be hated and ridiculed, then marvel at the huge negative reaction it gets. Use this reaction to justify the move and show how it proves that it was a good move that will improve business. [wwe logic] because any publicity and/or reaction is good publicity and/or reaction [/wwe logic]

And when ratings tank directly following the move, just blame it on the economy etc.

No, it's more like ratings spiking for one week to see what direction it's taking, then sustaining the rating if it looks good, or diving if it looks poor.
