Ted the Poster Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 Well, at least in the article it was noted that THQ is just "testing the waters" of online play this year and it will be a major focus next year. I still wish the wrestlers actually walked instead of shuffling around like old men. The Undertaker can't really be helped in that aspect though.
Aero Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Well, only a single match and Bra & Panties of all gimmick matches is disappointing for online, but I don't mind it too much. IGN also has RVD, Rico, and Batista up now. RVD at least has his "One of a Kind" theme this time, but oddly, Batista comes out to Evolution instead of his own. It was in HCTP, for sure. Licensing issues, perhaps?

Anyway, I could've sworn it was said a few months ago by THQ that they had gotten all the rights and were using all of the wrestler's themes.

Keep in mind as well that if Batista used his own theme, no one would use the Evolution music at all in the game. That's just a guess... maybe it is an issue (it could be production music). They could have set it up so that Evolution would use it when any two of them had a tag match.

Anyway, I think that the ring entrances are coming out much better than last year's. Guys like Garrison Cade and Chuck Palumbo actually show some sort of character in this year's game like posing and such. Last year, I remember Sean O'Haire's entrance was about 20 seconds long and all he did was walk to the ring and stand there inside.

Judging from the screenshots, there is no JBL limo in his entrance, thus killing 75% of the character off right there. UYI

UYI Not really...if you watch the entrance it is DEAD ON...and IMO...it might just be a little better then if they had had him come out in a limo. It's perfect...and it actually looks like him. And the tag title thing is not a rumor, it was confirmed a while ago only the 'main titles' will be active in season. But..that doesn't really bother me, because I always hated them in HCTP anyways...for one, I never really went for them, and when I wasn't...it always ended up in the hands of Flair and HHH or like HBK and Kevin Nash..and it just annoyed me, because they were just 'there'.

Maybe that means less tag matches in story mode.
Aero Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I think JBL's entrance is basically perfect. The limo would have been great to have, but I'm not overly disappointed. Dupree's entrance is up, also. Just like JBL's limo, it would've been great if he came down with Fifi, but he doesn't. At least he has his robe, though. The Tag Titles not being in doesn't bother me. In Season in HCTP, they always just stayed with TWGTT, who fought Los Guerreros in a gimmick match at EVERY PPV, anyway. Unless you're being someone in an established team in Season, like Charlie Haas or Hawk, the titles usually only came into play when Jerry Lawler tries to team you with your arch rival, bringing on such hijinx as one partner eating all the pizza. Besides, if the tag belts are that important, you can probably create them easily in the Create-A-Belt feature. They'll only be defended in PPV Mode, though.

If you can break submissions this year, I imagine I'll hate regular tag matches too (I hate them in Day of Reckoning.. which I've now grown to hate.. thanks iron man match with Triple H!).

True enough. I rarely went for them, either, and when they did end up in the hands of two randomly paired main eventers, it just annoyed the crap out of me as well.
