Anyone up for Fantasy Football?

Recommended Posts

For everyone in the non-yahoo keeper league, remember that you have you activate your rosters sometime today, otherwise you'll have no starters going into week one.

I'm way ahead of you on that one.

I activated my rosters after we drafted.

Is everyone else cool with him joining?

I don't mind him joining. I hope he stays.

I just didn't know you could join the league after the draft.

I'll take the Travis Henry Memorial Fantasy Team if he's really not going to be in the league anymore.

Actually, looking at the dates, it seems like we should give you NoCalMike's team. Can you PM me and I'll change the password/team name/etc for you.

Damn, it took me like 20 minutes just to work out my username and password for the Crossover league again, i really need to write that shit down. Thankfully i activated my roster right after we drafted.

On second thought, since rosters are locked, i'll PM you my stuff.

Weee!!! I beat Gibbs Disciple with no second RB in TSM Keeper League, I beat Patriots thanks to a poor outing by the Panthers in Green Bay, and my game against Pepsi Plunge went over easy in COGG Keeper League.

:)

Also first trade of the TSM Keeper League was made today as Crimson Storm's Brett Favre has been traded to Gotham Jokers for Quentin Griffin and Jake Plummer.

:) Actually, if you think that was one sided, I asked HarleyQuinn what it would take to get Griffin.

He said he'll do Griffin and Plummer for Favre. So I set it up and it was done. Hence why it happened, although I really didn't want to give up Favre. So if you want to find someone to blame, talk to HarleyQuinn.

And yes, dammit. I want to win for sure. Hence why I'm making damn sure I do what I can to make my team win. Besides, since Bennett is down, I had absolutely no choice.

HarleyQuinn's reasoning (not an actual quote, but more or less what he said):

"I'm not sure about Griffin's capabilities since it was against KC, and I need better trade bait for getting a more studdly back which Favre will let me work (What I, LF, know about that trade: who he's offering Favre to could use a more dependable QB). I don't want to leave you with just Harrington as your only option at QB, so I'll send Plummer your way."

So yes, lucky trade for me...Yet at the same time, I'm not as strong at QB as I once was. Both looked pretty good out there this past week but neither are as dependable as Favre for fantasy points, and I was originally planning to go with Harrington in week 2 after getting Plummer, but with Rogers out, it's a week by week decision now.

I'll see about Tatum Bell, but I'll have to figure out who I'd drop and last I looked, I didn't really have anyone to drop.

Oh and guys, remember this: ours IS a Keeper League, so please don't drop like a stud if he gets hurt. There should be an IL option for you if a person is injuried.

I lose in all the leagues i'm in, aside from the COSG league and that was helped by my opponent not activating his team, so not exactly the most auspicious of starts to the season.

Damn..... Steve Smith has gone down with a broken leg, and I have him in the COSG.net league, who should I put in for him? Peter Warrick or Brandon Lloyd?

BTW in the Yahoo league, I want to trade for Steven Jackson, whoever owns Steven Jackson...... who do you want in return for him?

A good starting RB, or a quality wideout. I'm basing his worth as a keeper and possible starter next year, so I doubt you'll be able to pry him away from me.

Edit : I didn't account for Cullpepper's 2nd fumble that was recovered by the Vikes, and it looks like the league counts all fumbles as -2 points even if they aren't lost. So I might win in a tight game, one that I probably didn't deserve to win, but a needed win none the less.

Congrats SmootCriminal on your win against me in TSM's Keeper League. It was hard fought and well won (I can't believe I played Gabriel).

I'm putting out that I would like trade offers for a good quality WR.

Yeah and the highest scoring team isn't 2-0 either. :)

Although Serenity has Ol'Man... that bastard. I wanted to own Ol'Man. Can I make a trade for him? ...no, I'm serious.

Edit: Trade proposal sent out to Serenity, opening offer. Willing to deal up so I can get Ol'Man.

It does not matter which QB you get I will still dominate the matchup 125-90 in week 3.

 Um... Raza, I doubt you are getting 125 pts.

Rich Gannon vs. TB? Might get you a decent 15 pts there. Just like last week.

Unlike last week, Ward ain't 150 yards in passing. I'm guessing 15 pts max.

Joe Horn will surely give you at least 10 pts.

Tomlinson is Tomlinson but against Denver who has a so-so run defense. I'll give you the max of 20 here as I think most of it will be running.

So where we at? 60 pts so far? Not bad.

T. Jones is so not getting what he got last week. 10 pts max from him as he's facing Minny.

F. Jones will get you 2 if you are lucky.

Wayne gets you maybe 10 against Green Bay.

Kaeding might get you maybe 5 against Denver.

And I don't think either defense you have will get you more than 10 (if I end up with Harrington starting, I hope you play Philly and he shells your defense).

So what have we?

97 pts.

As for my team:

Harrington will be airing the ball out to his team, so once again 20 pts (if I get really lucky, maybe he'll shell Philly).

Rod Smith should pick up an easy 12 against SD. However, no TD from him.

Johnson vs. a Washington team might get me about 10.

Considering Green's been racking up the yards against everyone, I say 20 pts here.

What am I at? 62.

Quintin Griffin's on and off, but hopefully he'll be on here and net me 20 pts realistically, more like 10.

I'll consider Cooley a ray of hope and say 7 as he'll get me a TD and 10 yards. Or at least I'd like to. 3 pts from him in reality.

As for Caldwell, 12 pts he's been averaging, so I'll say that.

Vinateri will get me about 6 pts.

And finally Indy will probably give me about 10 pts.

So my final tally: 103

My prediction is 103-95

...and dammit Serenity. I'll have to wait till I get home to check on that counter offer... It's a pretty good trade for me, but ... again, I have to see when I get home to check it fully out.

Who the hell are Cooley & Caldwell? Too bad the Redskins and Chargers don't have starting QBs.

Joey Harrington is play the Eagles so expect alot of sacks and turnovers.

Why does Jake Plummer think he is Brett Favre?

Nice you have TWO fumbling RBs in Ahman Green and Quetin Griffin.

Vinatieri, who was inconsistent at times last season, in great part due to back issues....

He is also a drunk.

Kreutz touched on the key thing we've been pointing to since Jones signed with the Bears. It's a good fit and a system that will feature him. That's why he was one of our favorite sleepers this summer. Congrats to those of you who drafted him as your second fantasy back.

Source: Some guy from Yahoo/Fanball.com

LT made 150 yards with a minor case of Turf Toe!

Joe Horn made 94 yards with a bad knee!

Ward leads the AFC with 250 yards receiving!

Reggie Wayne will get the ball when the opponets try to double team Harrison.

Mark Gaughan, of the Buffalo News, reports the Oakland Raiders have rid themselves of the ball-control, short-passing game of recent years and have instead evolved into an aggressive passing offense this year under new head coach Norv Turner. "We are going to push it down the field and we're going to take our shots," said QB Rich Gannon. "I think we have a little different personnel than a year ago. You look over the preseason and the first two games of the season, and you can see we do have some people who can really get vertical and stretch the defense."

Gannon is back to his MVP self.

Hey, Caldwell's done pretty well so far catching passes from a circus midget and the Ghost of Ryan Leaf. Cooley...not so much.

And I threw out a PM, but I just wanted to reiterate - if there's still an unowned team that needs steering, I'd be glad to volunteer.

Trade between Crimson Storm and Serenity has been approved for week 3 usage:

To Serenity - Chris Cooley (RB/TE) and Ahman Green (RB)

To Crimson Storm - Vinny Testaverde (QB), L.J. Smith (TE), and Curtis Martin (RB)

Please discuss your thoughts on this huge trade and the implications it has on the league. Like if you think that I'm an idiot or what have you.

Why did you want Vinny so much? Vinny is at the same level as your other QB of Harrington and Plummer. The only difference is that he is older, all three will have INT problems, and be chased out of the pocket.
