Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Also just mentioning that Keepers and Madness Picks can be traded. Any trades that wish to be made during the playoffs and Off-Season must be approved by myself (meaning don't just publicly announce it). 4 people to date have signed up with their stuff. The faster I get these, the quicker I can get Madness draft stuff. And damn you Will. I was expecting you NOT to keep Brees.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Yeah. I am banking on Brees going to an actual decent team in the offseason. Besides, the Bears D, Antonio Gates, and him saved my fantasy season, so I want to keep that trio together. Besides, I begin this year with Josh McCown as my only QB. No matter how bad Brees might do next year, he'll be a step up from that.

LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 So the people who are keeping six, they can't draft the other guys on their team, right?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Pawtucket Patriots Keepers: Brady, Branch, McAllister Madness: Branch, Heap Ok... Pawtucket, you need to state six people. Your Keepres, and your Madness picks. If you are only keeping 3, you must then state 3 Madness Picks. So state six guys, then state whether you are keeping 3 - 6 players, or giving up 0-3 guys of those 6 for Madness picks (0 being that you keeping your core six players). So the people who are keeping six, they can't draft the other guys on their team, right? LaParkaMarka that is incorrect. You can still re-draft your old team if they are there. The only ones that you can't are the Madness Sacrifices. These Madness Sacrifices (or players you keep, but then waiver) allow you to circumvent the draft order. So far, I'm the only person who has Madness Picks, therefore I've got 3 picks before the real draft even begins. Currently if there are any good players left from what isn't kept (and from what I see for Keepers, there is enough), I've got prime pickings for setting up a good team this way. If no one gets this, please refer to the last page and read my post regarding this in detail.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Alright, I'll tentatively keep Leftwich TO Andre Johnson Tiki Barber Chad Pennington and waive to Madness Randy McMichael ---------- Penny, though, is available for trade. I was thinking a madness pick and another late-round pick. Reasonable for a young franchise QB.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Congrats go out to Randy Orton and Serenity for capturing a playoff spot. Only 6 more to be won between 10 teams. This shall be an entertaining finish.

The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 What's the story on keeper rules (and playoff rules, for that matter) in the COSG.net league that's also a part of this thread?
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Keep 3, don't have te decide until before the draft next season. Playoffs are going to start in week 13. The format: Top two teams get a bye, teams 3-6 will play in the quarterfinals.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 So the playoffs are this week. I'm seventh in the standings, but sixth in points scored. I'm guessing I'm on the outside, looking in?

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2004 Official in League trade deadline is December 3rd (tomorrow) for Keeper League. While the trade deadline is passed, there still will be off-season trades that can be made during the playoffs that will only come into effect during our off-season. If you wish to make an off-season trade, please contact me and I'll verify that both teams wish to make the trade.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2004 Pepsi Plunge gets the last playoff spot, due to him having more overall points than Eek and Agent. Damn. Ah, well. I missed the playoff by point margin with a team I didn't draft that also managed to sit out its entire roster for the first two games of the season. Ultimately, I don't think I did badly at all. LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 For sure, man. If the team won either of those two games, you'd be in.

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 Presented By BankOne Dynasty picks. Keepers: QB- Ben Roethlisberger WR- Derrick Mason RB- Corey Dillon RB- Edgerrin James Players to give up for Madness picks: WR- Koren Robinson RB- William Green So two madness picks, hopefully they can do me better than the rest of my underachieving bum team did. And God only knows how i made the COSG league playoffs, my team was ordinary pretty much all year but i guess i just scraped together enough points to get in. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 So two madness picks, hopefully they can do me better than the rest of my underachieving bum team did. Considering the depth of talent that's actually going to be available for those few people who take part in the Madness Draft, I'd say its highly likely that you'll not only succeed in producing a better lineup, but also do better next year as well. Of the 9 people I currently have for Keepers, only 3 have done so.

Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Looking at my team... I really don't know who I should consider keeping, apart from the obvious choice (Culpepper)
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Alge Crumpler is a no-brainer After that it is just how much you think of the madness picks. I would go down the list of already declared keepers and see who those teams are releasing. If you think you can get players in the madness round then dump the rest, if not then I might keep a Keyshawn or Fitz just to have at least one decent receiver going into the draft.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Culpepper is definitely being kept, that's already been stated... I'll probably keep Crumpler and Fitzgerald around, too, just to build a solid core for next season, with QB, TE, and WR. I'll look closer at it after this week. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 After I have the completed Keeper's lists, I will detail who has been forfeited for Madness Picks and also give off a possible draft order as well.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Looks like the first round of the COSG playoffs are done with. Pawtucket Patriots - 66.4 Pepsi Plunge - 97.4 Despite good performances from Peyton and LT, the Patriots lost the battle of PPs. Pepsi's MVP has to be the Tampa defense, throwing up a ridiculous 37 points with their shotout of Atlanta. Barring a similar performance from Seattle's defense tonight, Pepsi has it in the bag and shall face Lone Stars next week. In the other game, we had a thrilling finish. Unfortunately for one team, Plaxico Burress and Deuce McAllister combining for -.2 points really did them in. Cuban Cigars - 73.7 Team 2005 - 73.1 So next week: Cuban vs HHH, Lone Stars vs Pepsi Plunge.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I'm getting to be the master of the ridiculously close win. Of course had i remembered to start Kevin Jones and his near 200 yards and 1 TD it wouldn't have come down to the wire like that.
