Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 PT's definitely gonna put up 95+ Unless Torry Holt discovers the true meaning of how to catch a pass thrown by Jamie Martin, I have about my doubts about that one. It's currently 84 to 61, last I checked, BTW. I knew I should have started Billy Volek...
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Hey Foreign Objects, I'm in the same boat. I have Ruben Droughns and Tatum Bell started. Lelie has done nothing and the Pittsburgh's defense only put up 4.25 points. So congrats to Serenity for knocking me out of the playoffs. BTW deadline for handing in Keepers or changing them passed yesterday. Hence I do have a couple of teams that are up for grabs as I received no keepers from them. I will post up stuffy concerning all this. Aw, poor Flik. His QB-WR combo has only contributed 50 points to this point and still have a half to go. It is all over for him. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 (edited) Actually its 70 pts, but who's counting? Edit: At the time of the caculation made I currently have: 112.39 pts in total with Vinatieri still to play. I've never lost when I've scored over 100+ pts. This is a good sign. razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 The Saints vs Bucs game had the duel of QBs which has Griese winning because he did not get sacked while Brooks offensive line gave up 7 in the game. If I win this week it will be because of my defense who only gave up 7 points.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Did I lose? Wow, Fitz had two TDs for Arizona. I wonder what Antowain Smith did.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I did the caculations for Serenity and he's only got 61.9 pts. He needs at least a combined 40+ pts. Its possible, but I wouldn't bank on it. Oh, btw, congrats to Gotham for taking out Paper Tigers. Score's like 97 to 90 (rounded, as I suck with getting defense right).
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Trust me. It ain't happening. If Kerry Collins and Jerry Porter combine to put up 8 TDs on you, you are not meant to win that game (think the Madden video games "No fucking way" game).
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 For people who think that the baseball playoffs are a complete crapshoot, I'd like you to direct your attention to fantasy football, where Nate Burleson and Drew Bennett pile up 4 TDs and nearly 300 yards of receiving, and Andre Johnson and Terrell Owens combine for 5 catches and about 60 yards. Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I wonder what Antowain Smith did. Absolutely nothing. I knew I should have put in Moss in place of Keyshawn Johnson, today, too.

If Kerry Collins and Jerry Porter combine to put up 8 TDs on you, you are not meant to win that game (think the Madden video games "No fucking way" game). 40 pts. Manning has to put up numbers like Collins and Volek and you'll have points taken away from Manning by your own defense if you aren't careful. Although, for some reason that worked with Harley winning his game so you might get lucky.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Sorry Serenity. Ya lost. Manning only put up 16 pts. Half of what you needed to beat me. You lose bucko. See you again, next season.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Looks like there's a chance that all of the top 4 teams could lose to teams 5-8 this week. To prevent this Randy McMichael for Randy Orton has to put up 4.83 points.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Shockey should of scored 3 TDs in the game but was stopped at the goal line two times.....I got lucky on the Saturday game.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Amazingly, teams 1 through 4 in Keeper League have fallen wayside and teams 6 to 8 advance. Isn't that crazy? Actually Randy Orton the #1 seed could advance if his tight end gets like 50 yards or at least a TD, but I can't see either of those happening, since its McMichael. Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Well I actually had a great season, so far, as I was able to pick up these free agents: Droughns Evans Gates Eric Johnson Bell Goings I went 12-2 during the regular season and won my first round game pretty handily, while leaving Tiki and Evans on the bench. TO got hurt and Droughns lost his starting job and scored miniscule points. Fortunately, Culpepper broke out from his slump, Javon Walker and J. Smith had great games, and Goings was solid and picking up the Charger D gave me 14 points. Next week will be easier to put my starting team together, but I survived for the next round and now can play for some $$$ and the grand prize of 175. The upset of the tourney happened in the 2 vs 7 game was the number 2 seed had Volek as his QB and still lost 157-123, as the #7 seed, and defending champ, has Bennett, Kennison, Muhammad, and Larry Johnson peaking at the right time and it was enough to beat the number two seed, who just did not have enough to compliment Volek's QB performance of the year. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Congradulations for Keeper League's teams of Gotham Harlequinns, Crimson Storm, Injuried Prone DTD, and Agent Bond. You've advance to the semi-finals after knocking off the top 4 teams in the league. Yeah, that's how bloody good our league is. Even the top teams can still lose in the playoffs. Of all the losses, the worst had to be Randy Orton's (12-2, 1st) loss to Agent Bond (7-7, 8th); as Agent Bond had barely squeeked into the playoffs but now finds himself only two wins away from becoming this year's Champion. Agent Bond's next opponent was the winner of Gotham Harlequinns vs. Paper Tigers and he'll have a steep hill to climb in order to beat either one of them. Foreign Objects (10-4, 3rd) loss to Injuried Prone DTD (9-5, 6th) team was a blow out, and so Injuried Prone DTD's name doesn't really suit him now as he's got a chance at winning it all. Foreign Objects team just came out flat this game as there were only two positions that got over ten points in this game. Out of all the teams remaining Injuried Prone DTD has the easiest task of making the finals because of who he'll be facing next. Crimson Storm (8-6, 7th) defeated Serenity (10-4, 2nd) in what should've been a lopsided affair simply because Crimson Storm had lost the starting power of his impact RB, Ruben Droughns. Even though Droughns didn't make much of an impact, three players literially carried him into the next round. Those three being Kerry Collins (41.84pts), Joey Porter (32.80pts) and Chris Martin (25.40pts). Going into the next round it is highly unlikely he'll survive his matchup against Injuried Prone DTD. Finally, in the match up everyone thought should've been another clear top 4 winner, Gotham Harlequinns (9-5, 5th) managed to upset Paper Tigers (9-5, 4th). It was a tight close game, but Gotham managed to edge it out thanks to Jacksonville's defense in allowing to put up points while letting Favre do the same. Gotham Harlequinns manager could be heard cursing up a storm with every sack of Favre but was immediately pleased when it was reported to him before the end of the game that he had managed to oust Paper Tigers and could just enjoy the rest of the Packers vs. Jags. ...of course, he went back to cursing and cheering for the hell of it. So folks for the semi-finals of Keeper League's Championship Tourney we have: 5th Seed - Gotham Harlequinns (9-5) vs. 8th Seed - Agent Bond (7-7) AND 7th Seed - Crimson Storm (8-6) vs. 6th Seed - Injuried Prone DTD (9-5) My Predictions of Finals: 5th Seed - Gotham Harlequinns (9-5) vs. 6th Seed - Injuried Prone DTD (9-5)
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Damn, Kerry Collins has come back for revenge and will knock me out of the playoffs! The Raiders are up against the Chiefs, the team with the worst defense in the league, which means that Collins to Porter = 60 points. And the Steelers vs Ravens game will be low scoring so that will give Crimsom Storm another 15 points.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 Ah, but Raza, Crimson Storm doesn't have Ruben Droughns starting. Tatum Bell is currently suggested as the starting RB. That gives you a head up easily.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 My TSM Keeper League team may have pretty much sucked but victory is mine in the COSG league, 81.7 to 71.9 in the final. Michael Vick chose the perfect time to finally put up a big fantasy score for me.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 I screwed up big time by using Griese over Aaron Brooks. It ended up being the difference.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Well I have an important game this weekend to go to the Championship.. but I need some insight to who to start for my final RB... My choices are Goings, T. Bell, Droughns, M. Faulk, and E. Smith... My for sure team is: QB - Dante WR - J. Walker WR - J. Smith RB - Tiki RB/WR - Lee Evans - Hot and faces weak 2ndary TE - Gates Def - Buffalo Any insight, help would be greatly appreciated
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Its really a toss up for your second RB of Goings or Bell. Currently Bell is injuried and therefore might go down. Volek will be playing for the Titans which means the Broncos will have to shoot it out most likely. Whereas Goings has been a pretty hot RB as of late, but Tampa's been playing good football lately. Its hard to choose between the two as both defenses they face have given up a lot to the run. I don't suggest Droughns because he's currently the backup to Bell. Faulk has been pretty much a bust this fantasy football season. Smith does face Seattle's rush defense which is worse than both Tampa Bay's and Tennesse's, but it is Smith is up there and hasn't really busted out the huge yardage this season much. Personally, I'd suggest Goings.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 but now finds himself only two wins away from becoming this year's Champion. I didn't expect myself to be in a position like that, much less the playoffs beating the #1 seed in the league. Hopefully Culpepper can carry my team to a win. Trust me Agent, when I say that I don't any of the bottom 8 were expecting this. And just as you are hoping Culpepper carries you to the Finals, I'm hoping Collins does the same for me. Heh... Wouldn't it be hilarious if the #7 and #8 seed both made it to the Finals?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Semi-Final Current Scores: Gotham Harlequinns - 29.6 (1 Players) vs. Agent Bond - 29.4 (1 Players) Crimson Storm - 0 (0 Players) vs. Injuried Prone DTD - 21.90 (1 Players) And it looks like we are off to a great start. Although, I find it quite ironic that Michael Bennett gave Injuried Prone DTD those points, because he used to be apart of the Crimson Storm. Looks like Bennett is coming back to bite CS in the ass. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 A rookie draft could be interesting, but were there 16 rookies(who could be useful in fantasy football) that have made some sort of impact this year? Offhand I can think of Kevin Jones, Roy Williams, Ben Roethlisberger, and Michael Clayton as well as guys who played late in the year like Eli Manning and Julius Jones. It's an interesting idea in theory, I am just not sure if it would work in practice. Also if you don't think any rookies will have an impact by the time you pick, you can always trade your draft picks for proven players too. Draft picks become a fabulous trading chip by the time the draft rolls around and can net you a guy that you know can produce vs an unknown commodity. The following players have all seen playing time this season. Some have made immediate impacts while others have had off and on games. #1: RB Julius Jones(Has really come on since returning from injury) #2: RB Kevin Jones(Has been on fire lately) #3: RB Tatum Bell(Made an impact as of late) #4: WR Keary Colbert(Has had several big starts early in the season) #5: WR Michael Clayton(Mr. Consistency throughout the year) #6: QB Luke McCown(A few spot starts) #7: WR Larry Fitzgerald(Not as much points as some other players, but solid production) #8: QB Ben Roethlisberger(Very capable player since Maddox's injury) #9: WR Lee Evans(Starting to get more points as of late) #10: RB Steven Jackson(Has finally taken the starting role) #11: WR Rashaun Woods(A few spot starts) #12: TE Ben Troupe(Getting more playing time lately) #13: WR Darius Watts(A few games of action) #14: RB Greg Jones(Started this week in place of Taylor) #15: K Nate Kaeding(Been very good all season) #16: TE Chris Cooley(A surprise, productive for most of the season) #17: QB Matt Schaub(Started in place of Vick this week) #18: TE Tim Euhus(Has developed a decent rapport with Bledsoe earlier in the season) #19: RB Mewelde Moore(Was a capable starter due to injuries, very productive) #20: K Josh Scobee(Been a decent kicker for the Jaguars) #21: QB Craig Krenzel(Saw playing time before his injury) #22: WR Jamaar Taylor(Has seen some action, not much production) #23: WR Clarence Moore(Has been solid some weeks) #24: QB John Navarre(Started a game) #25: TE Jeff Dugan(Has seen time as of late) #26: WR Roy Williams(Has been comparable to Clayton in solid production)
