Enigma Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 From PWTorch.com Australian WWE Tour Matches - PWTorch.com reader Brad Connors of Melbourne, Australia writes: I was just listening to Australian radio network Triple M, who are supporting the WWE "Smackdown Superstars Return of the Deadman Tour" and heard an ad for the Melbourne show on Aug. 29 at Vodafone Arena. It stated: "The Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero battle for the WWE Championship and by order of GM Kurt Angle Rey Mysterio will battle JBL. Three Championships on the line." Might be a bit of a indicator of how things were going to turn out in future weeks.
Promoter Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Hopefully, this is a case of card subject to change. What I also notice is that name of the tour. The title could go on Taker at SummerSlam for a last run maybe.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Greeeeeaaaat......Hopefully this means I'll get to see the start of the JBL/Mysterio feud I've been waiting 10 years for...................... or.........fuck the WWE.
ulfistgut Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Well now it's been leaked the WWE will no doubt reverse said decision and keep the title on Bradshaw for a long long time.
NoCalMike Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 UT as champ again? Probably worse then Triple H on raw.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 UT as champ again? Probably worse then Triple H on raw. Don't ever speak an ill word about MUGATaker. His match with Cena was the best SD has had in months.
Guest Dazed Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Well now it's been leaked the WWE will no doubt reverse said decision and keep the title on Bradshaw for a long long time. It hasn't 'leaked', it was on the radio. House show cards and PPV posters never give away future storylines. Ever. Dammit.
Australian Pride Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I live in Brisbane and we are getting different adds for their show here on August 28. They are advertising a JBL vs Eddie in a No DQ one fall to a finish match for the title, and the Undertaker getting revenge on Booker T. Then it says GM Kurt Angle presents 3 title matches, so someone is missing out on defending (either US, Tag or CW).
spman Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Eddie get the title back next week, in fact I almost expect it.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I don't mind the Undertaker as the champion. I happen to be a deadman mark, so I would be happy with it.
Enigma Posted July 8, 2004 Author Report Posted July 8, 2004 I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Eddie get the title back next week, in fact I almost expect it. From the 7/5 WON: There has been talk of putting Undertaker with Heyman as a full-fledged top heel, but even though that seemed the most logical direction, it's also the least likely. There was heat between Undertaker and Heyman stemming from the period when Heyman was head writer of Smackdown and wanted to tone down Undertaker's push and use him more to build newer characters. It is said Vince McMahon wanted Undertaker to be a tweener, who could work with anyone, figuring the fans would keep him babyface because it'll take a lot of work to get them to boo him. Smackdown is so weak on star power and he's considered by fans by far the biggest star, which makes it hard to be a heel, but the same thing can be said for HHH on Raw. There are three-ways with JBL vs. Guerrero vs. Undertaker booked. As things currently stand, plan for SummerSlam on the Smackdown side is JBL vs. Undertaker for the title, with Undertaker as a face, and Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle. Angle is already medically cleared to wrestle after resting his often injured neck, but the plan right now is to hold his return off until SummerSlam. Angle could also work against Cena, since that was his main rival as G.M., if Guerrero is put in the title mix. Working with Guerrero in a single would put a lot of pressure on Angle in what would likely be his first match back, because fans would be expecting a great match.
Positively Kanyon Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I hope JBL still comes so I can take my "JBL fears Otto Rehhagel" sign. P.S This is my first post, so be kind!
The Mandarin Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 UT as champ again? Probably worse then Triple H on raw. Don't ever speak an ill word about MUGATaker. His match with Cena was the best SD has had in months. MMATaker > your house
Australian Pride Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I hope JBL still comes so I can take my "JBL fears Otto Rehhagel" sign. What would be JBL's cheap heat tactic be in Australia (like his nazi signs/goosestepping in Germany)?
Positively Kanyon Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 He'll probably crap on about convicts or something... WWE likes to play up the sterotypes.
Australian Pride Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah, i remember Jericho doing that at the Global Warning event in 2002. It worked too, we gave him a massive 'you're a wanker' chant.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 UT as champ again? Probably worse then Triple H on raw. Don't ever speak an ill word about MUGATaker. His match with Cena was the best SD has had in months. MMATaker > your house Agreed, MMATaker is just a less cool name for MUGATaker.
Guest combat_rock Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I hope JBL still comes so I can take my "JBL fears Otto Rehhagel" sign. What would be JBL's cheap heat tactic be in Australia (like his nazi signs/goosestepping in Germany)? Maybe he'll come out dressed as an aborigone, complete with blackface. Honestly, it wouldn't suprise me at this point.
Guest UncleJesseMark Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 kids, kids, this means nothing. I have a feeling that we may see UT and JBL at SS for the title, Radio ads never, ever give anything away. Especially on SD! where they seem to be writing week-to-week
Guest news_gimmick Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Heh, would the Undertaker hodling the WWE title by then be any worse then BRADSHAW holding it longer than a month? It really can't get worse from this point really, so I see no reason to worry. And the day I see ads give away any future plans is the day I am a slim man again.
