Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 9, 2004 TNA Impact TV taping July 8, 2004 Orlando, Fla. at Universal Studios Report by Danney T. Robertson, PWTorch.com correspondent The doors opened at 6:05 tonight. Tonight there was a smaller crowd than usual. By the end of the night they had people spread around so that it looked like it was pretty full. Jimmy Hart came out and plugged the show and announced the lineup for tonight. He then announced an autograph session after the show with Ron Killings and Konnan. He then introduced Jeremy Borash who came out with the TNA Girls for the night. Tonight's TNA girls were Nikki and Amber. Amber is the winner of the Hawaiian Topic World Competition. Jeremy then in turn introduced the announce teams who then took their positions. XPLOSION MATCHES (1) Team Canada beat three locals. Team Canada got the win with a double team facebuster followed by a moonsault. Solid back and forth match that got the crowd pumped up. (2) America's Most Wanted beat Titus & a partner. America's Most Wanted got the win with a double team leg drop. Good match, but I will say one thing, Titus did not sell anything. I understand that they are trying to make him out to be a monster, but he took a double spear from AMW at one point and was back on his feet within three seconds. But otherwise a good match. IMPACT TAPINGS (1) The Naturals fought "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels & Primetime to a draw. The crowd was really into Christopher Daniels. Daniels and Primetime almost got the win late in the match but The Naturals pulled the ref out of the ring. The match then went to a time limit draw. Larry Zbyszko then called the match in favor of Christopher Daniels and Primetime. The Naturals then attacked after the match. After a minute America's Most Wanted ran out and made the save. (2) Kazarian & Michael Shane beat Shark Boy & D-Ray 3000. Shark Boy dove out of the ring and took out Traci. Kazarian got the win with an impressive looking splash off the top rope. Another good match. As usual, the crowd was really into shark boy. (3) Alex Shelly & Abyss (w/Goldylocks) beat Mikey Batts & Jerome (two Orlando locals). Abyss and Alex Shelly got the win when Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam. The local guys seemed a little nervous, but they did a good job. Abyss is very impressive and from what I hear he's even better when he's not basically squashing someone. He needs to do something about his chain. It looks too new for the look he's going for. They then threw some t-shirts to the crowd. (4) The Elite Guard beat The 3 Live Kru. Konnan had a member of the Elite Guard locked in a submission maneuver but the Jarrett ran out and took him out with a guitar allowing the Elite Guard to pick up the win. Another good match while it lasted. The 3 Live Kru then took out the Elite Guard but they eventually made a comeback. The Elite Guard continued the assault until Dusty and Zbyszko made the save. Zbyszko said they're sick of Jeff Jarrett. He said that they've been around a long time and they went to Vince Russo and they could have anything they wanted. Therefore, this Wednesday on PPV, there will be a Guitar on a Pole match. I got most of what he said but if there is anything I missed it was because I didn't hear because the house speakers, which were really low again this week. Pre-taped promo hyping the new announce from NASCAR (5) Petey Williams beat Chris Sabin and A.J. Styles in a three way X-Division match. Kazarian and Michael Shane walked out and distracted A.J. Styles, who flew out of the ring onto them. Petey Williams got the win with his flipover piledriver which is very impressive looking. A very good match with some innovative spots. After the match Shane, Kazarian, and A.J. fought outside of the ring. A.J. was in control for a while but was eventually overpowered. A.J. finally got back control and knocked them back out of the ring. Shane took the mic and said they are not waiting until Wednesday and then ran back in the ring and a brawl between Sabin, Styles, Shane, and Kazarian then ensued. Sabin and Styles finally took control and got rid of them for good. That’s it for tonight's Impact Tapings Looks like a really good show, with everything being watchable, and no Monty Brown squash! thuganomics 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Alex Shelley as an f'n regular rocks. Supposedly, the rumors are he's working for ROH still as well, and that negotiations may reopen to get TNA talent back on ROH shows...
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 So, umm, are most Impact matches non-title?
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 ... Holy shit. Only one match that I have no interest in seeing and even that has a reason for me to watch it since I've never seen Onyx and Hernandez work. I'm most def tuning into Impact tomorrow.
Guest Jesse Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Great show, I enjoyed the hell out of it. If anyone cares, the 3 locals Team Canada beat in the Xplosion match were Rod Steele, Bruce Steele, and Frankie Capone and Titus's partner was Lex Lovett. And that was Jerelle Clark in the Abyss/ Shelley match.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Allow me to join the legions who are completely sick of the guitar.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Swank. Looks like a must see show. But I take it the ME was non title... Right?
Guest JacK Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Who's Titus? Maybe he could team with Dallas since they both rhyme . . . And don't worry, next time the guitar is on a POLE! Oh the variation!

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 They get rid of the good Redshirt (Northcutt) and bring in the uber-shitty one (Wilson) that they got rid of in the first place because he sucked so bad in the ring. Makes sense to me. This really doesn't seem like an incredibly appealing card...but maybe that's because there are 2 X-Division matches when this is supposed to be a show focused on the X-Division. Somehow, it still turns into the Jeff Jarrett Egotrip Hour with all the talk of his guitar, and whatnot.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Well, it appears that Titus may never see a television screen. The "Xplosion" matches have still yet to air in any markets
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 9, 2004 Wasn't TiTus only supposed to be a bodyguard for Fairplay? I never got the impression they were giving him a monster push or anything. I'm glad it's him, so that the bodyguard role doesn't waste a skilled wrestler.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 For those in the D.C. area (or receive Comcast / FSN "Mid-Atlantic"), I just want to let you know that Impact! will air tomorrow at 1:30 a.m. That's not TONIGHT, mind you - it's not 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. It's actually 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. So go out and do whatever Saturday night, and set your VCRs to record. I swear to God, Mid-Atlantic is killing me. At least this week they’re actually airing the show. Anyone have any solid info on the ratings for Impact? Still good? Better than normal FSN programming? I hope so, because if the show’s doing well (relative to FSN), then it’s about time that TNA puts its foot down and persuades the network to start airing the show at the same day / time UNIFORMLY across FSN / Comcast. IF I remember to tape the show tomorrow night, it’ll be the second show I’ve seen, out of….what? Six weeks? Seven?
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 From what I've read, they're going head to head with Velocity at the moment, which is better than it sounds. But don't quote me on that.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted July 9, 2004 I think it's stayed in the .3s basically.
Guest JacK Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Hey I was sobre for once . . . and it was Wilson? He wasn't anything to write home about. Didn't they get rid of him for a reason, besides being injured? I was half-wondering if Sandman and Raven injured him in a case of 'if we don't get him, he'll get us' the way he seemed to injure people.
