Replica Belt Question

After posting about the Big Gold belt in another thread I find myself wanting to possibly purchase a replica belt by Figures Inc.

They're around the range of $200 though and I don't know; I've been to a few WWE shows and most of the people I see with these belts in the crowd look like dorks. Do any of you guys have any of these belts and if not, would you get one if you had the money?

In the past I've had the WWF Big Eagle, WCW Big Gold (original fig inc version) the WCW TV, US, 2 Tags, and just recently the replica Winged Eagle and Old School IC belt. Plus I also had a scaled down version of the W/E made by Reggie Parks.

I'm a collector plus I also use them for feds, but either way though they are pretty sweet to have and good conversational pieces. If you don't want to spend the price, try checking ebay, they usually have belts at a good deal, especially if you don't mind "used" belts.

I've been thinking about buying the big gold belt sooner or later. So, can anyone tell me if it's really worth it to spend an extra $100+ for the deluxe over just the ordinary adult replicas.

From what I've heard, the only difference is that the deluxe is heavier and the strap is better immitation leather. The super deluxe is a little heavier with thicker plates and supposedly real leather. Those run you $399 while the regular deluxe are $369. If you don't mind not having the WWE logo go for the WCW Alliance super deluxe and get the real leather.

Otherwise, you could get a regular version and see how much it would cost to get it releathered. Check www.championshipleather.com for prices on that.

I have an ECW Tag and the WCW US titles. I picked them up in a trade for tapes...if you don't count the time I spent dubbing, and only the tapes and shipping, they probably cost me $40 combined.

The US title is nice, but I Storm'd it and put a Canadian sticker on it.

The deluxe belts are real leather, as opposed to the simulated leather on the normal ones.

I've heard that the deluxe leather straps are not worth shelling out the extra cash for.

I have a kids one if you're interested in buying.

I also have kids of:

ECW TV

ECW Tag (1)

WCW TV

and an adult replica of the WWF Light Heavyweight Title.

Looking to get rid of ALL OF THEM.

I got a deluxe one back in the day with a Sting name plate on it. It's pretty cool if you have some place to display it. If not it just takes up room.

I'd go for the regular Alliance Big Gold. I had one last year and it was really cool because I always wanted some kind of belt. I sold it recently because it was just taking up room, but it was cool for a while. I'm thinking about getting the classic Intercontinental belt with either a white or yellow strap next.

I'm thinking about getting a Big Gold replica but I'm stuck on getting either the old school one or the new one with the WWE logo. Help me decide, what would everyone else get?

The Old school Big Gold is definitely class. The one WWE uses now is a very nice replica but an original is always better than a copy.

Just be careful which version of the WCW Big Gold you get. The first versions had extremely thin plates that were not bent. I had one of the first Big Golds sold (back when they were $125 what I wouldn't give for belts to be that cheap again!!) and the plates looked like they were going to break under any stress. Any version after that is twice as thick and I believe have curved plates.
