The OAO Cancelled Shows that Should be Back Thread

Recommended Posts

Guest DonWestMark03

I'll start with my list:

Undergrads

Married With Children (It would have to be with a new cast)

Weird Science

The Critic

Andy Richter Controls the Universe

Married With Children was terrible by the time it was cancelled. That was a mercy kill if anything.

I'd say Twin Peaks, but after 13 years it's not going to happen. But it's the main show that I wish could have continued as it was and not have been cancelled. I really don't care about most other cancelled shows.

And everyone's going to say Angel, just so you know.

Tidus

Greg the Bunny ( I liked Tardy the Turtle and Count Blah )

Home Movies

The Critic

Andy Richter Controls the Universe ( had a lot of potential )

I'm sure there's more, those are off the top of my head.

Angel

Andy Richter

The fact that Quintuplets is such a horrible show (although it's not Richter's fault) makes it even worse that Andy Richter Controls the Universe was cancelled.

Firefly

I can't think of anything else that hasn't been mentioned. Didn't we do one of these threads a couple of months ago?

EDIT: Damn BlackFlagg beat me to Firefly.

Azumanga Daioh(that series could go on for twenty years and I'm pretty sure I'd still love it)

Excel Saga

Hercules: The Legendary Journey(only because it was one of the few Tv shows I watched post Next Gen)

Star Trek: The Next Generation

Batman(the one that was just released on DVD)

The Tick(the animated series)

The Legend Of Zelda(not technically a show, just a segment, but still...)

Earthworm Jim

Yeah, I'm a video game mark.

I totally agree with you that no new cast would capture the magic that the old cast did. But, unfortunately, the ages of the cast now would not allow for the show to work, unless Bud and Kelley still lived with their parents when they are in their 30's.

I'll have to agree on MwC better off done. NOTHING will be able to recapture the glory days of the show, and the last year or two were brutally bad except for the NO MAAM group...and King Kong Bundy nearly killing Bud. HIGH-larious.

I'm amazed at the # of cancelled shows coming back in one form or another (Family Guy, Farscape, Firefly).

Shows that should come back:

Futurama (hey, i liked it. had a lot of potential)

Briscoe County Jr. (Go Bruce Campbell!)

The Big Urban Myth Show (Liked watching it while working out)

In Living Color

Angel

G&E

Shows that SHOULDN'T come back:

What's happening (wouldn't be the same without Rerun)

Quantuam Leap (Wouldn't be the same without Stockwell and co., and both are too old)

The Tick: The Live Action Series (shutter...)

I REALLY disagree on In Living Color. The last few years were HORRIBLE, and I liked the show a lot. Besides, sketch comedy is pretty much done to death with MAD TV and Saturday Night Live...and Chappelle Show now I guess if his counts.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe is the only show I can think of that probably should come back.

I disagree with those that said Titus and Home Movies. Both shows ended very well and there's no need to mess that up for another season.

And everyone's going to say Angel, just so you know.

Angel had enough seasons that people shouldn't be bitching about it. I can understand people complaining about Firefly, but Angel had a good run, and Whedon had a chance to give it some closure, to boot.

My Shows:

- Keen Eddie

- Karen Sisco

- The Flash

- Murder in Small Town X

- The (non-celebrity) Mole

Does it really count as being cancelled if it had 4+ seasons like some of these?

WONDERFALLS, MOTHERF*CKER!

There are other shows I could name, but most of them at least had a decient run. Wonderfalls ran 4 episodes on a bad night and no promotion.

I also really liked 10-8: Officers On Duty on ABC, and they canned that after a season.

I would say Kindred the Embraced and Brimstone

Clone High needs to be back yesterday

Amen to that!

My picks:

-That Was Then (never got a chance, but had a great premise)

-Quantum Leap (count me in with the masses)

-The Incredible Hulk (ended pretty abruptly. They could have kept it going given the format it followed with Banner bouncing from town to town, helping people.)
