Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Well I finished my first season at ND with 2 losses and a 19-0 Rose Bowl win over Iowa. HOWEVER I was put on 2 year probation thanks to way too many players commit violations and I ran out of discipline points!!! So now I have 10 less scholarships! phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 I'm on my third dynasty. Dynasty 1: UCLA - Went 12-0, beat #2 USC 62-21 to advance to the national championship game, beat Ohio State in the title game. Then I decide to leave for Texas, decided they weren't the team for me (run-oriented and no good receivers) so I started another one. Dynasty 2: Florida - Went 12-0, beat #2 FSU to advance to the national title game, beat Texas in the title game. But...too many suspensions (thank you Channing Crowder) and the easy way to the top (I was in BCS contention immediately) just caused me to lose interest. Dynasty 3: current - Hawaii. Undefeated against, well, a schedule a 1-AA team could do well against, though I have wins over three ranked teams. I just like it cause I can throw 50-60 times a game. I'm trying to break the passing yardage/passing TD records but I might not break them because A) I'm facing two and possibly three teams from major conferences and B)my brother also has a dynasty, plays on Varsity (I play on All-American) and will probably put up ridiculous numbers. So if I have it ti will be for a very short period of time.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I've never played it: -What bowls are available in this game? -Does *every* team have a unique stadium? -Are there all-star games (Blue-Gray, East-West Shrine)?
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I just started a new Dynasty on All-American with Arkansas. My first game was against Ark-Pine Bluff. A D-IAA school. I won 100-7. It was actually pretty fun.

I scored on every possession. I didn't even have the highest time of possession b/c I scored so quickly and Ark-Pine Bluff's base offense was a goal line formation. That was weird. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Well I'm not as good at this game as some of you. I can't dominate it on Heisman like everyone else can. Hell I'm having a little bit of trouble on All-American. Anyways after my blowout of the weak ass DI-AA school I've come up against an actual school in #6 ranked Texas. I led 10-0 before Texas actually connected with a 66 yard pass to make it 10-7. A field goal from me ensued and we were into the waining moments of the game. Texas marched down the field and scored a TD! No! They were up 14-13. I started a new drive that ended on 4th down on the 30 when I was sacked! Oh man it was a close one and a heartbreaker to lose. See this is the kind of game I can actually stay into until the end and lose. When I'm getting blown out I just can't have fun with the game. I just get frustrated. I'm not as good at this game b/c I'm terrible on offense. I have trouble passing the ball as a QB and I'm not that great of a runner. I'm a better runner than I am a QB though. But for some reason if I leave the game in the computers hand at QB he makes dumb throws or gets sacked.

Or did some freak miracle happen and several Sun Belt teams get ranked?
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Wow, I haven't played this game in a while, but you guys are just now finishing one regular season? I've already finished 4 seasons with Oklahoma and gone undefeated for the entire time, with 4 national Championships to boot. Maybe I'm cheating or something, but I always seem to get the recruits I create and I pump the hell out of their stats.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Well I was getting frustrated b/c my players suck and I want to recruit some good ones. So I simulated the rest of my entire first season with Arkansas. The team ended up going 8-3 under simulation and finishing #3 in the SEC. Wow. And my opponent for my bowl game? Texas in the Cotton Bowl! It's rematch time!!! But seriously when I played NCAA2K4 I did nothing but win. I was never in anything except a BCS bowl. So when I first got this I started my SMU dynasty. I went to the MPC Computers bowl my first year and then went nuts and won like 4 National Titles in a row. The luster of taking your team all the way to the national title goes away when you can do it so easily. I want a couple of years of toiling away in the SEC. With Cotton Bowl and Gator Bowl visits. Maybe making it to a BCS bowl. And then it all culminates with a big National Title win around my 5th year coaching when my record is something like 47-10. As opposed to me with my SMU Dynasty being something like 60-0. Yeah I was like the greatest coach of all time. But that's not realistic. They really need a Hall of Fame in this game so I can go in it.

They really need a Hall of Fame in this game so I can go in it. Which is why I used what originally is a Division I-AA team. It takes longer to get to the top (and sometimes it annoys me that when you have a crappy team with an undefeated record, they would be ranked in the teens)... otherwise the game is fun. (Realistic too, gone are the 60+ blowouts, in are the 3 point victories)
mike546 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 I started a dynasty with Cal on All American and I swear I have the worst luck. Both my starting QB, starting RB, and number one WR are ALL out for the season with injuries. This caused me to lose two games in a row to easy teams in the Pac Ten. I somehow went into USC, and beat them on the road. I'm in the middle of a game right now against Oregon, which I'm about to lose. Cal has the worst CBs ever. My best one is at 80 overal, and hes low on moral. ugh ... I can't wait for this season to end .. so I can start recruiting.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 8, 2004 I'm at the end of year 9 with the buckeyes and it's year one of my two year probation. The 2 years prior to this year I had an amazing QB with high 80s speed and passing accuracy and power in mid 90s. His first full year he had great stats including 51 total TDs, but was screwed out of the Heisman. I simed the first 5 years, so I could use the draft classes on Madden sooner. It's easier to do that, than to rename all the players.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 For some reason I feel dirty doing the sim-job on the season. It makes me feel like I didn't accomplish anything. Also does anyone else notice that when you sim it the game decides to do an injury on at least one player? I swear someone new is injured after every simmed game. Also I can do the close games but I just cannot get blown out. It frustrates me to no end when I'm helpless and getting blown out. Never really happened but it's frustrating for me to be down 2 TD's. mike546 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Finished out my seaon 8-3 with a trip to the Holiday Bowl against Texas. My QB came back an had a insane year, and was screwed out of winning best QB in nation. He had like 50 more completions than the Michigan QB who won, 5 more TDS, more yards, and still came in 2nd. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Heisman is weird like that. I had a running back who averaged 3000 yds. and 35 TDs a year and never did better than 3rd in the voting. I probably run the most boring offense around as I just pound it with my running back all day and maybe pass 10-12 times.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 I always have like good stats with my QB's and HB's and never EVER get that damn Heisman.
mike546 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Nevermind, I thought I'd lose because I was in second with no games remaining, and the other QB had no games left either. Somehow, by the power of god, I went ahead of him and the damn thing. EDIT: Dammit, Texas has to LB with 90+ stats. Guess I won't be running.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Well my QB and WR are being considered for Heisman, with the QB being the leading candidate. Anyone who quarterbacks a lousy San Diego State offense to blowout victories against Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, and Michigan to be 4-0 so far (if anyone was wondering, we're ranked 26th in the BCS standings thanks to a crappy preseason placement.) USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 I have a question. How can you steal players from different schools, and does it take place in the offseason? I didnt know you could steal players outright. I only knew of accepting transfers or convincing a prospect to come to my school instead of his original school. mike546 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Shit. I need some advice on how to recruit. I wasn't sure what amount of points was considered "high" and I only ended up with SEVEN new players. shit.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Shit. I need some advice on how to recruit. I wasn't sure what amount of points was considered "high" and I only ended up with SEVEN new players. shit. Don't you listen to what the recruits say? Usually it takes the one or two important pep talk topics to sway guys over to your school. The most common that seems are Coaching prestige, location and playing time. Tell the recruits about those three items, if they don't bite, then drop them and move on to someone else. That's what I do and I usually round up about 15-20 recruits ready to come (and some are in the insanely good skill level) EDIT: After reading more, I would say you should properly divide up the recruiting points to about 20 for top level skill players and 15 for everyone else. That's how I did it.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Haha! Revenge on those Texas cow fuckers was sweet! I met up with them in the Cotton Bowl after their 14-13 come from behind victory against me! They scored at the end of the first half to make it 7-0. Then I scored right back before the half making it 7-7. Then with 27 seconds left I kicked a field goal putting me up 10-7. It was a defensive battle but I prevailed.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Well I just had an interesting situation in the BCS. As San Diego State, we're not exactly considered a powerhouse, but with a grade A non-conference schedule that we went through (Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan and West Virginia) and a 12-0 record, we were ranked 6th in the polls, 4th in the BCS standings. Well Texas was ranked 1 for the BCS and was about to face USC for the title in Orange Bowl. Well, funny thing, no one told Colorado. Colorado beat Texas in the title game. This kicks Texas out of the BCS. And the final Orange Bowl game matchup was #1 Oklahoma vs #4 San Diego State.... SDSU won the Orange Bowl by the score of 42-7. It was sweet indeed. Now let's hope the actual southern California team wins the actual bowl.
