Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 The Cena/Reigns match was perfectly acceptable TV Wrestling: It wasn't dull for a moment; Reigns had a varied attack that was vaguely similar to Randy Orton with a little more zing; he even busted out a swank Butterfly Suplex before Cena's finishing sequence. Angle sees something in Reigns, I don't know if he's far off. Hell, what if Angle works with Luther and helps him improve?
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 He does work kind of slow and not so technical, but I agree that Reigns isn't horrible. He fits his bodyguard role quite well, I guess. What I'm wondering though, is what will become of him without Angle as GM.

Spaceman Spiff Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I was digging Reigns after his 1st match, where he squashed...someone, I forget who. However, I wasn't impressed with his match against Eddie, and I wasn't feeling the match against Cena. Didn't catch his PPV match vs. Haas. I'd certainly take him over Kenzo or Heidenreich, but he's kinda let me down his last few matches. I'll give him a chance. And off-topic, I would have liked to have seen Jindrak get a chance ahead of Heidenreich. Jindrak was showing some signs of improvement, showing some charisma, and was starting to get a bit over on Velocity. I certainly wouldn't give him a huge push, but I'd be OK giving him a shot in the midcard to see what he can do.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 He's not stinking up the ring, and his first move in the match last night was a big boot better than Tomko's hit during his entire run. When he's done the Last Rites, it hasn't been pretty, but I don't think that type of move suits someone of his size anyhow. The side powerslam he's done is a better fit. He's also kicked in with a couple of promos that weren't bad. I don't hope he gets an uber-push, but if he keeps up what he's done so far, he'll be fine with me.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I remember Luther when he was Horshu on WCW Saturday Night. Weird. Two people stand out during that time; him and Chuck Polumbo. I was certain neither would make it.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Reigns hasn't been offensive, and the match with Cena was decent, but he's gonna flop around like a fish out of water if they seperate him from Angle.I dont think I've heard him say a word, and if he's going to be a heel hes going to need to cut some really good interviews and the like the get the crowd hating him for being himself instead of the crowd mildly hating him because he was Angle's bodyguard.
Guest combat_rock Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Actually, he's a pretty damn good talker. I mean, he fits the forceful monster mold, but he does do it very well.
Guest JRE Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I remember I saw him in the hotel lobby before the WWE Breakfast during the WM Weekend this year...he was with Mordecai...and possibly Tomko...not sure. They just walked right next to me with their luggage looking kinda lost and everyone ignored them. I sorta recognized them and *attempted* to talk to them. Anyways, he just looked like a really bland hoss. And I still think that...he's a very ugly and unappealing guy. But yeah, pretty good in the ring
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 does he still have the horseshoe haircut? sorry.. randomness
Use Your Illusion Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 The first thing I thought of when I saw the guy in the ring was 'Goldberg'. Not because of his moveset or in-ring style, just because of his appearance. He's a hell of a lot better than half the other shit that is coming out of WWE's development territory and, like combat said, he's a pretty decent talker too. I espicially liked his conversation the other week with Charles Robinson backstage. Much rather him than Heidenreich. UYI
Open the Muggy Gate Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Luther > Most hosses. I've been a silent mark for him for a little while now. He has the perfect look for his bodyguard role.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 does he still have the horseshoe haircut? sorry.. randomness Yep. I don't think he's ever going to do anything about that either. Maybe that really is the way he likes his hair cut =P
Enigma Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Meltzer's always said that he's a great talker and was dumbfounded that he doesn't get the microphone more.

Vyce Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 He's not stinking up the ring, and his first move in the match last night was a big boot better than Tomko's hit during his entire run. I've said this before, and I still stand by it: Tomko is maybe the worst worker in all of the WWE. Worse than Suzuki. Quite possibly worse than Heidenreich. Worse than 2003 Kevin Nash, and worse than Nathan Jones. Luther's pretty decent for a hoss. But still.....there are a lot of guys that I'd rather see in his slot.
Dark Age Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 No, Suzuki is much worse than Tomko, as is Heidenreich. Atleast Tomko had a semi-decent match with Jericho. The other two haven't broken DUD yet.
Enigma Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I still don't think I've ever seen a wrestler worse than Nathan Jones. Although Tyson Tomko and Jon Heidenreich are 2nd-place candidates, with Kenzo Suzuki coming in 3rd.
Dark Age Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 Suzuki is worse than Jones. He's one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen.
Guest Shane Legend Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 "Theres no business like shoe business!" I actually like Luther, I liked him as Horseshu also.
Lord of The Curry Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 So we're starting threads now to say that wrestlers don't suck as much as we thought they would? The talent pool runs deep here at TSM.
Dark Age Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 And the thread title is misleading too. Luther Reigns does in fact suck as much as I though he would.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 So we're starting threads now to say that wrestlers don't suck as much as we thought they would? The talent pool runs deep here at TSM. Actually this was just a thread for people to share their thoughts about him. Perhaps you weren't bright enough to pick up on that.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 And the thread title is misleading too. Luther Reigns does in fact suck as much as I though he would. Yeah, but this thread's title isn't about your feelings. Really, he doesn't suck. He's better than Alpha Male Monty Brown or Abyss or any of those TNA big man abominations.
{''({o..o})''} Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I'll give you Monty Brown, but not Abyss. Not at all.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 I'll give you Monty Brown, but not Abyss. Not at all. Abyss isn't shit in the ring. It's just that he makes up for it with an odd kind of lunatic charm. Oh and a cool finisher, too. But Reigns does a perfect Butterfly Suplex. That says something.
Dark Age Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 This thread IS about my feelings. You said it was for people to discuss Luther. I gave my opinion: He sucks. And when did I even mentioned Abyss or Brown? Considering you mentioned them in reply to my post, that indicates I have been pimping them. I have not. And Abyss is WAY better than Luther. Monty Brown isn't that good, but he's better than Luther. Really, Luther sucks. Wow, he performs a perfect butterfly suplex. PUSH THIS MAN TO THE MOON! His match with Cena on SmackDown! sucked. His match with Eddie sucked. Monty Brown (who has alot less experience than Luther) has had better matches with Ron Killings and Elix Skipper than any match Luther has had. Don't give your opinions on him when you've probably only seen a couple of matches. (Before you reply with the obvious, I've seen Luther in WWE, WCW and UPW. He sucked every time)
Vyce Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 And the thread title is misleading too. Luther Reigns does in fact suck as much as I though he would. Yeah, but this thread's title isn't about your feelings. Really, he doesn't suck. He's better than Alpha Male Monty Brown or Abyss or any of those TNA big man abominations. You are INCREDIBLY off-base about Abyss. Abyss is pretty much better than.......just about every hoss that the WWE employs now. You know what? Abyss is better than new TSM glory boy Batista. Yeah. I said it.
