Guest thebigjig Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Al Sharpton = the man that just destroyed the positive mojo of this convention
pappajacks Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 There's no doubt that he broke script. He's definately a loose cannon.
Guest MikeSC Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Al Sharpton = the man that just destroyed the positive mojo of this convention Nah, Jimmy Carter did that nicely. -=Mike
Downhome Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 This little intro by Mrs. Edwards is about a million times better than the speech that Mrs. Heinz gave.
Guest tangerine Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Watching over the convention this week; i've arrived at the conclusion that The Democractic Party has a good selection for the 2008 election. I'm not sold on Kerry and so is the general consensus of the Undecided voters like myself. I like Edwards and the Obama kid. How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off?
Guest MikeSC Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 This is gold. Albright told Greta that N. Korea developing nukes over the past 3 years is BUSH'S fault --- not the fault of her and her President's fucking idiotic policies. -=Mike
Vyce Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off? Heh. It's going to take a lot more than 4 short years for America to get anywhere close to electing a black president, no matter how good of a speaker he is.

Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Yeah, that's one of the things he's got going for him. Rule of thumb, though, is that he has to be 30 to run for Senate
Guest tangerine Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I know that. I was simply stating his youthfulness.
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Yeah, that's one of the things he's got going for him. Rule of thumb, though, is that he has to be 30 to run for Senate they still ask him for ID when he goes to get alcohol j/k
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off? Heh. It's going to take a lot more than 4 short years for America to get anywhere close to electing a black president, no matter how good of a speaker he is. But..he went to Harvard!

It's going to take a lot more than 4 short years for America to get anywhere close to electing a black president, no matter how good of a speaker he is. Besides, NO WAY the Democrats EVER would vote for a black man to be President. The first black President will be a Republican. -=Mike
Lord of The Curry Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I don't give two shits about American Politics in the least, though I find it interesting in a "10 car pile up" kinda way. But MAN Sharpton had me riled up with that speech. I was gettin' riled up for stuff which I had no clue about. Who knew the man could work the mic so well? Obviously not me.
BUTT Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 How old is Obama? Could he run for 2008 if Kerry doesn't pull it off? Heh. Guest MikeSC Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 They want blacks to vote for them, and then shut up and go back to the background. You don't see too many blacks in important positions in Democratic administrations. -=Mike
Guest Brian Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Has being in high positions in republican administrations earned them anything lately? Would being in high profile positions in a democratic administartion benefit the black community?
jesse_ewiak Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Just ignore Mike on this point. He's somehow doesn't understand Obama is going to be a US Fucking Senator at the age of 42, which isn't exactly being a porter or chauffer. Also, Al Sharpton is a black preacher. By law, he has to give a good speech. :-)
Gert T Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I would guess Obama would likely get a shot for President in 2012. By no means does that mean Kerry will be a two-term Prez, or even get it once. Hell, if W gets the bid this November Obama may get the bid in 2008, there is quite a buzz about him.
Vanhalen Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 I think Mike is spot on about the Republicans electing a black president before the democrats, and theres only one man for the job, Colin Powell.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Well, now I know who Tyler's new crush is...
Guest thebigjig Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 EVERYONE seems to have a crush on this Obama guy... he's the new rockstar of the Democratic party I'm sorry but Republicans only WISH they had speakers like Obama and Edwards on their team

Doesn't mean she's ever sniffing the White House. kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Forget good speaking skills -- I love listening to Arnold talk...
Dangerous A Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Obama vs Giuliani-2008! Now THAT is a hell of a showdown. Not the dog and trick ponies that are Kerry and Bush.
Gert T Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 This little intro by Mrs. Edwards is about a million times better than the speech that Mrs. Heinz gave. Heinz-Kerry has a very creepy vibe to her, and everytime she speaks, it seems contrived.

Bush... I think "substance"
