Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 31, 2004 I'm starting to get bored with MVP Baseball so I'm gonna pick up a few new games. ESPN Football 2K5 is already on my list, but what other games should I pick up? Thanks in advance.
David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Depends what genres you're interested in and what games you already have. I'd recommend SD!: HCTP, FFX (FFX-2 is SO overrated), Kya: Dark Lineage and Baldur's Gate 2: Dark Alliance. Oh, and if you want a major headache of a game with some very satifsying results (and you have about 300+ hours to blow), then pick up RPG Maker 2.
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 31, 2004 I have HCTP, which I love, but got bored with. Here's my list of games (might show you what genres I'm into): Agressive Inline Smackdown Just Bring It Smackdown Shut Your Mouth Smackdown Here Comes the Pain Grand Theft Auto 3 Grand Theft Auto Vice City Unreal Tournament Pride FC Legends of Wrestling Rune Viking Warlord Gran Turisimo 3 Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Madden 2002 Madden 2003 Madden 2004 Twisted Metal Black State of Emergency Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 NBA Street Vol. 2 NBA Live 2004 MVP Baseball 2003 MVP Baseball 2004

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 BloodRayne. The first few levels are boring - defeat zombies and swamp monsters! - but chopping and destroying everything is fun. It's when you get to Argentina that the game *really* picks up. Killing Nazis in all types of slicy-dicy ways....it's just amazing. Her twin-blades are just kick-ass, I think. Plus, when you destroy someone on your Target List, it goes all slo-moish. Which is awesome if you slice them to pieces, then watch in slo-mo as all the pieces fly about. Yup. I'm sick and insane like that. But for the less violent-inclined gamer, Ico is good. You can't understand a word Ico or the princess says, which is what makes it so, I don't know, charming? You have to get through the castle...but not let her die. She dies, you die. Plus, she opens doors mysteriously. So...she's needed. The game is just interesting in all the clever puzzles it presents. Fökai 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Judging by the fact that you already own Hot Pursuit, I'd recommend Need For Speed: Undergound. You WILL get hooked on it.
BX 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Dont get Tekken 4. Get Tekken Tag Tournament, which is a superior product.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Agreed, Tekken Tag is a better version and probably a hell of a lot cheaper these days anyway. As far as I'm concerned, check out Dynasty Warriors 4. If you dig mindless death and LOTR-esque battle scenes, then this is the one for you. Deep as hell, too. It'll take you months upon months to unlock stages, level 10 weapons etc. UYI
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Down with 2k5, up with Madden! Tekken Tag is definitely better than 4.
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Thanks everyone. I will most likely be getting the following: ESPN NFL 2K5 Need For Speed Underground Tekken Tag Tournament Timesplitters if I can find it Also, how's Manhunt? I haven't played it yet. Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 Manhunt is an accquired taste, if you ask me. I love games like Metal Gear Solid, which is the system that Manhunt is largely based on. You do alot of sneaking, hiding and slaughtering. Outside of the inital shock factor, it's inferior to Konami's beast. Rent before you buy.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 1, 2004 I dig Fight Night and Soulcalibur 2 quite a lot. Those are the most recent prestige games over at my buddy's place.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 You want a better baseball game, ESPN Baseball. Now thats a baseball game.
David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 Manhunt sucks IMO. It's just Rockstar's attempt at sales through controversy... again.
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted August 1, 2004 You want a better baseball game, ESPN Baseball. Now thats a baseball game. I like MVP alot, it's just I get bored with games fast. I'll probably be playing it again come October, so there's no need for me to get another baseball game. AoO, what's Soulcalibur 2 all about? From what I can tell, it's just Dead or Alive with swords and shit?
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 Actually, it's more like Tekken with swords and shit. Imagine Battle Arena Toshinden, only good.
