DerangedHermit Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Joe Schmo is more believable than RAW.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Oh, here's another question: if Orton gets kicked out of Evolution, what would he use for his entrance theme? His theme on Wrestlemania 19 for the Gamecube.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Benoit should have held on. I miss the RKOops.
razazteca Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Oh, here's another question: if Orton gets kicked out of Evolution, what would he use for his entrance theme? His theme on Wrestlemania 19 for the Gamecube. Brooke Hogan or Ashlee Simpson's 1st single.
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I enjoyed the HHH/Regal segments. That was about it. Flair really needs to stop wrestling. The man is the worst wrestler on the roster. The Coach is better than Flair. Flair botched so many spots tonight - Edges spear, on the outside, calling spots incredibly loud, and taking a billion backdrops. It's ironic that Flair hates when fans use "inside lingo", but he's exposing the business every night in the ring.
razazteca Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 But Flair gets the Wooooooooooooooooo everytime he uses the chops.
CanadianChick Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Didn't see all the main event (dinner rules!), but the finish was pretty cool. I thought that Benoit looked pretty damn good taking on three guys when Jericho just tagged out and Edge was on the ground. The finish was a bit predictable, but still good, nevertheless. And now I know how the RKO was suppose to look like that one time against Jericho! Oh, I kid. Winner gets to marry Lita? How Russorific. Although really, they're just recycling the whole "Winner gets Stacy" concept, but raising the stakes. My lord, does anyone get any worse angles than Kane? Damn. That was an awesome beatdown. Regal was just puddling blood. I love a good 'ol beatdown. I guess now this way, it's not just Triple H wanting revenge, but also the other way around. Yes! Edge is turning heel! Hell yeah! If he does though, that whole "Edge is going to take down Evolution" is forgotten. I'm willing to sacrifice that angle for a heel Edge though.
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Ok, I lied. I didn't just enjoy the Regal/HHH stuff. ...I liked Rosie as well. It's a shame they're blowing their load on Regal/HHH; because that program had potential.
Guest SUPERHBK Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 What, they're gonna shoot him? HOLY SHIT! Did you hear that "WE WANT BENOIT!" chant?! You know, it really wasn't that big just a group in the front row. A lot like the HHH fans last week. Actually, I was there. It was from the entire arena chanting "WE WANT BENOIT!"
Art Sandusky Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Why do people give two shits about the PPV theme songs. Other than their Drowning Pool and Limp Bizkit choices, they haven't been good at all. Randy Orton coming out to "Pieces of Me" would be phenomenal. Batista needs to come out to "Exhale" by System F starting at the 2:57 mark (those who have no idea what I'm talking about, I urge you to download it or IM me for it), and Flair keeps "Also Sprach Zarathustra." Tag team main events never interest me, and having two or more Evolution members on one side each week doesn't help.
Scroby Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I had a problem with the main event finish. It would have been a nice spot if Orton didn't come up from the german so quickly. If Orton got the first german and Batista got the second, it may have looked better but since Batista got the german before Orton did it just seemed to be it would have been better if Batista hit Beniot from behind with that clothesline of death, but thats just me.
Spaceman Spiff Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Why do people give two shits about the PPV theme songs. That's a question that continues to mystify me.
Art Sandusky Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Seriously, every month there's a few guys who ask in every thread what the song for the show is. WHY. Oh, I'm rooting for Maria and Joy now. She can back that thing UP.
Downhome Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I hope that we don't get Edge as a replacement for Orton in Evolution, once Orton turns face.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I agree Downhome. I don't think Edge has the cocky heel(at least the kind of cocky heel that needs to be in evolution)attitude that would help him get over in that role. It wouldn't work right and it would make no sense. It would be much better if they keep Edge tweener(face it Edge was NEVER a good heel. Even the comedy stuff that E&C used wasn't true heel stuff)this way it leaves open plenty of match opportunities.
razazteca Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I would rather see Val Venis or Stevie Richards join evolution. The Big Valboski needs a gimmick change and this could be the only way to get him over.
BHK Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 They've tried to get Venis over in other ways. The RTC, Chief Moorely, it's like he's stuck with the porn star gimmick forever. Also, am i the only one really digging the Tajiri/Rhyno pairing?
Guest GreatOne Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Why do people give two shits about the PPV theme songs. Other than their Drowning Pool and Limp Bizkit choices, they haven't been good at all. What no love for Rush? Actually my only problem w Summertime Blues is that it sounds like more a cover of The Who's version but other than that no.
King Cucaracha Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I reckon Edge could play the Evolution style suave heel. A haircut certainly wouldn't harm his image and although he's only really had experience as goth heel or comedy heel, he's probably got enough charisma to stand in Orton's role. Thing is, Evolution doesn't need Edge and Edge doesn't really need Evolution. At least not way Orton and Batista did. Val I could definately see in Evolution though and it'd be a welcome change of pace, without being a total character overhaul.
Guest GreatOne Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Ah remember the rumors of Evo's fourth member being MARK JINDRAK?
King Cucaracha Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Yeah. I'm still trying to forget the rumours about Orton, Cade, Jindrak and Maven forming a faction to fight Evolution. Thank god that never happened.
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 One of the things the WWE does best is montages/video packages. The song for the PPV greatly effects how well it comes off.
Guest GreatOne Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Yeah. I'm still trying to forget the rumours about Orton, Cade, Jindrak and Maven forming a faction to fight Evolution. Thank god that never happened. Lasted what, that one RAW match? Sounds like Storm's latest column
