Bored Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_ylc=X3...ov=ap&type=lgns BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was suspended from the university for the 2004 season because of his run-ins with the law. Virginia Tech officials said Tuesday they took the action because of Vick's convictions in May on three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after he and two teammates gave alcohol to 14- and 15-year-old girls at the players' apartment. Vick, the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback and former Hokies star Michael Vick, was acquitted of a charge of having sex with one of the girls and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $2,250. The suspension also was based on reckless driving and marijuana possession charges filed against Vick last month after an early morning traffic stop on Interstate 64 in New Kent Kent County. The 20-year-old player faced trial on those charges Tuesday.
Art Sandusky Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Man, you think he'd avoid doing shit like that when he's such a high-profile name.
MrRant Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 You would think you avoid giving alchohol to minor's in your apartment in the first place...
Dangerous A Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Marcus isn't too bright and has terrible taste. College girls >>> high school freshmen girls Sorry, but college girls are more down to do things and you won't get arrested for doing it.
Krankor Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Way to go at screwing over your career Marcus Vick.
Damaramu Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 What a moron......I just don't get how some people can be so braindead about these things.
2GOLD Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Uh, Michael & Marcus are the same generation. Yes...I know. I consider Michael an idiot for trying to scramble up the middle on the Baltimore Ravens. Obviously little brother Marcus has more issues. Like having a famous brother and not being the sharpest knife in the drawer.
lomasmoney Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 some of his brother's talent, none of his brains
Edwin MacPhisto Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Wahoo wa, bitches. Eat a bag of dicks, Tech. The Hokies don't break .500 this year. Mark my ferociously biased words.
Guest Redhawk Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Was Vick supposed to be the starter this year? I wasn't sure if that Randall guy graduated or not.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Randall's still there. Officially Randall was the starter, but most people expected Vick to have the job within the first few games. Now he's definitely the starter.
Guest Redhawk Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Not saying he wouldn't get in trouble at another school, but I once saw a profile on Marcus when he was in high school, and he specifically said he was NOT going to go to VaTech. Said he didn't want to have to face all the comparisons and expectations. Maybe that's what got him in trouble, his "I'm Mike's brother and I can do whatever I want" attitude; maybe he should have gone somewhere else.
DerangedHermit Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Jesus Christ, Marcus Vick probably has the pick of the litter with regards to girls, and he chooses a 14-year old? BAD MOVE.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Uh, Michael & Marcus are the same generation. This thread should have been locked after this post. Oh, and you know what they say. If there's grass on the field...
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Can someone please explain to me the hardon ESPN and Virginia Tech has for Marcus? I've seen him play and he is definately not a good quarterback.
iggymcfly Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 When I just saw that he was getting suspended for the season for weed, I thought it was kind of bullshit, but if he already got caught getting 14 year olds drunk, I guess it makes sense. Besides, Randall's been a damn good QB for them, and he deserves to play his senior season without looking over his shoulder every damn game. As for how Va. Tech's gonna do this year, .500 sounds about right. The ACC's gonna be crazy tough this year, and really Va. Tech built a lot of their reputation by beating up on teams like Rutgers and Temple in the Big East.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Uh, Michael & Marcus are the same generation. This generation, the fire in our eyes...
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Amusingly, I have a co-worker who goes to V-Tech and attends a lot of the same parties as Vick. She says he basically comes in and acts all high and mighty, and pretty much nobody outside of his groupies (which are, surprisingly, not overwhelming) likes him. He got a $1 million check for his birthday from his brother, though. This shit just shows how hype can ruin a kid.
Guest Redhawk Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 He got a $1 million check for his birthday from his brother, though. That's it, now I'm going to make sure my little brother goes to the NFL. Anyone have a phone number for Todd Marinovich's dad?
