Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 T.O will hopefully shit all over this. I do believe we're the only city that can say that we ended a HHH title reign. How did Toronto end a HHH title reign? And I vote for a Benoit vs Regal best of 7 series. Man alive, that'd be fun. It was our rampant apeshit chants for Hogan that made Vince do the title switch at Backlash. If he'd been boo'd or given a lessar reaction things might've been different. Guest TigerDriver91 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 So when did HHH lose the title in Toronto?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 John Cena is no Chris Benoit. Amen. Nobody is, as far as 95% of this folder is concerned so that's a mute point. This is such a better idea than asking Booker of all people to try and carry Cena through five matches in one night. Amen to that.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 So when did HHH lose the title in Toronto? Perhaps I wasn't clear enough or you aren't smart enough. Either/or. What I meant was that we are the only city in recent memory whose reaction for one wrestler caused them to be immediatly pushed to the top and get the title. I find it funny that 1) It's HHH and 2) HHH never got that job back from Hogan IIRC.
Guest SteveyP93 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Cena, as green as he is, is more entertaining in the ring than Booker T has been in 6 years. Reality check: Booker is not capable of carrying anyone.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 2) HHH never got that job back from Hogan IIRC. He halfway did. It wasn't a pay-per-view event...but on Smackdown during Undertaker's most recent title reign there was a battle royal for a shot at the title. Hogan and HHH did the 94 Rumble ending. Hence, they fought each other later in the evening for the shot. HHH won.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted August 6, 2004 I feel that Cena isn't as entertaining as Booker, in and out of the ring. I just get bored with Cena with every extra minute he's on the screen. I'm sure i'm in the minority in this one.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Booker's just boring now. I mean the matches are solid enough, but he's stopped entertaining me a long time ago
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 So really... The only main event superstar in WWF history who has beat HHH, and HHH never beat him after that is still the Ultimate Warrior?
Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Actually it might be Duke The Dumpster Droese, but don't quote me on that Besides he wasn't ever main event material. At least we can say Trips was the only guy in wwf history to lose a hogpen match As for my city helping the re-bith of Hulkamania and HHH dropping the belt I think we should also get credit for crapping all over that dreadful Triple H title win in the "main event" of WM 18. So we did the double whammy!
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 So really... The only main event superstar in WWF history who has beat HHH, and HHH never beat him after that is still the Ultimate Warrior? I'm not sure...I think though Bret Hart once beat HHH and HHH never got a chance to defeat Bret.

I'm not sure...I think though Bret Hart once beat HHH and HHH never got a chance to defeat Bret. That's funny as I just watched the Trips/Hart match from raw recently(it was a good raw where DX brought up the curtain call incident and raw is missing that kind of stuff today). Yes, it's true he never went over Hart after that or ever actually. Leave it to Bret to have jobs over guys like Austin and Triple H without them getting it back. Hmmm....add Ric Flair to that list. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 I would love to inact that scene that HHH did before Steiner came out to challenge him... <HHH>You can name anyone in this industry, and I've beaten them all! <Me>Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior... <HHH>Er...um...well...SHUT UP! >_<
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Reality check: Booker is not capable of carrying anyone. He did have a decent match with Nash of all people at Fall Brawl 2000 IMO.

Doesn't the Brooklyn Brawler have a pin over HHH also? That HHH hasn't gotten back either. I just remember Brawler has a win over HHH.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 At least we can say Trips was the only guy in wwf history to lose a hogpen match HHH won that match. Damn, I thought that was his "paying dues" match? He didn't even do the job for that? Strange when you consider Vince loved his pig farmer characters. I remember Vince shoving those damn guys in the opening of raw every week until someone put some sense into his head that people would just rather watch a nitro interview with main eventers talking. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 The Warrior squash was his paying his dues match.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 It's funny as I've read that Triple H actually offered himself up for the sacrifice thinking he would get a push later on. Maybe that was the deal with him winning the '96 KOR. That is usually how it goes. Vince squashes you or make you a lose a match before getting the big push(which ties right back into Orton winning the strap soon after jobbing twice to Edge). We know what happened with KOR '96 and he probably has a grudge since. So, I guess we should blame Mr. Warrior for the monster we have now.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 At least when they did this similar concept In WCW back In 1998 with Booker vs Benoit for The WCW U.S. Title, they had the sense to book the deciding Match for The PPV. You don't think that Match 5 will 'happen' to occur at No Mercy?

Courtesy of Chris Jericho. D-Von also has a pin over HHH that I believe hasn't been gotten back yet. Hell, I don't think HHH ever got his job back from Shelton either. I reading PWI magazine and thinking, "Why on earth is HHH beating Bret for?" It was some of the weirdest match results I've ever read.
