Blade2kxx 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 JARRETT VS. HARDY – THE TITLE MATCH DRAWS NEAR! The NWA World Heavyweight Championship showdown between “King of the Mountain” Jeff Jarrett and the superstar enigma Jeff Hardy is drawing near, and this Wednesday live on Pay-Per-View the championship committee of Harley Race, Terry Funk and Larry Zbyszko will make the official announcement of the date for the title bout! Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy will both be in attendance at the Pay-Per-View, and neither one wants to wait until the match to get at each other! 20 SUPERSTAR INTERNATIONAL X DIVISION GAUNTLET FOR THE X CHAMPIONSHIP Director of Authority Vince Russo dropped a bombshell on X Co-Champions Michael Shane and Kazarian this past week – if they think they’re going to co-exist as co-champions, they’re sadly mistaken. As a result, Russo has set up a 20 Superstar International X Division Gauntlet Match for the gold, and the bad news for Shane and Kazarian is that one co-champion will enter first while the other enters last, making it near-impossible for Shane and Kazarian to overcome the odds! Also going for the gold in the match will be AJ Styles, Kid Kash, Sonjay Dutt, Amazing Red, Jerry Lynn, Japan’s Nosawa and Miyamoto, Canada’s Petey Williams, Mexico’s Psychosis and UK star Nigel McGuinness along with more high-flying X superstars! BEST OF THREE SERIES FOR THE #1 TAG TEAM TITLE AMERICA’S MOST WANTED VS. TRIPLE X Throughout the history of TNA, no other tag teams have been more successful than America’s Most Wanted and Triple X, who engaged in a series of battles in 2003 for the NWA World Tag Team Title. Now, the self-proclaimed greatest tag teams in TNA will renew their rivalry, this time in a Best Of Three series to determine the number one contenders to the Tag Team Title currently held by The Naturals. This Wednesday night on pay-Per-View, AMW and Triple X will compete in the first bout of this highly-anticipated series! FOR A FUTURE SHOT AT THE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE 3LIVE KRU VS. TEAM CANADA w/ Coach D’Amore In another tag team bout made by Director of Authority Vince Russo, this Wednesday live on Pay-Per-View members of 3Live Kru will face members of Team Canada for a future shot the tag team title! The tag team scene in TNA is heating up, and Russo is determined to establish power rankings before the division breaks out in chaos. This Wednesday live on PPV, the 3Live Kru and Team Canada get an opportunity to earn a future shot at the tag team gold! CONTRACT VS, MONEY MATCH ALEX SHELLEY w/ Goldylocks VS. DESIRE’S MYSTERY OPPONENT After getting beat by Abyss this past Wednesday, Sonny Siaki’s career is officially owned by Goldylocks, as her army of servants continues to grow. Siaki now joins Sharkboy and D-Ray as Goldy’s latest additions. However, this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View, Siaki’s love interest Desire will attempt to win her man back when she puts up a Mystery Opponent against Alex Shelley in a “Contract vs. Money” match! Can Desire get Siaki back and take Goldy’s money? Or, will Goldy add another TNA superstar to her legion? Tune in and find out! FINAL GUTCHECK CHALLENGE DAVID YOUNG VS. GLENN GILBERTI Poor David Young – all he ever wanted to do was be a TNA Wrestling Superstar, but now he finds himself unemployed as the first victim of the “Gutcheck List”. However, Young isn’t leaving until he gets one last shot at Glenn Gilberti, and he’ll get it this Wednesday on Pay-Per-View! Can David Young finally get some revenge on the superstar that he claims derailed his career with bad advice? Or, will this “Final Gutcheck Challenge” be David Young’s last match in TNA? Tune in and find out!
Magus 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 I could care less about any of these matches. a few have potential to be pretty good, but TNA usually finds a way to overbook them so they look like shit. its really nice to see that the focus on the tag team division is STILL on AMW when the Naturals are the champs and haven't gotten dick for air-time. i'm willing to bet that nobody cares about Jeff vs. Jeff, as it'll be a terrible match. and just remember, we're not getting a match this week, just more of the usual bullshit from TNA's main event. David Young is talent wasted at this point. Glenn Gilberti is one of the few guys in pro wrestling that you can't do anything with. he sucks no matter what he's doing. 3LK vs. Team Canada will suck (Russo was mentioned twice in that paragraph, but they can't mention the actual CHAMPS? Naa-Ture-Alls. not that hard to say). the Goldilocks angle is one of the worst in TNA history. and it'll be a great thrill to see all those X Division wrestlers kicking ass in the ring. maybe it'll even be a good match. but the X Division itself is in such shambles that it doesn't really matter. good fueds screech to a halt for no reason and the title was given to TWO guys who can't work the style. goddamn, i swear a whole lot more when i don't like the product. but i'm a forgiving God. i'm waiting for them to start the monthly PPVs and see if the booking gets any better. probably won't, but hey, we can try. Guest Donners Report post Posted August 7, 2004 I could care less about any of these matches. So you do care about them, then? I certainly don't rate this card as high as last week, but it's good to see they've got rid of the duel champions and AMW vs. XXX could be something special if given the time. You didn't claim you could care less about TNA --- but it's even LESS relevant than, say, the WNBA draft. I imagine you care less about that than TNA. -=Mike
Styles 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Hmm...as much as the X gauntlet sounds fun and will likely have a few suprises, I'm not feeling the rest of the show. This might be the second in a row I skip, unless I get really compelled Wednesday night...
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 I think it's funny that they have Nigel McGuiness listed since they haven't contacted him about appearing on the show yet. In fact he didn't even know TNA listed him on their website

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 10, 2004 Thank you Don West... Anyway, NIGEL~! on TNA? Score. He's absolutely awesome in the ring, and is a hella nice guy outside of it. Hopefully he gets brought back, because I'd love to see him vs. Daniels or AJ. Best of Three Should be good, but I think they'd be better if XXX went back to just being heels, rather than the I respect you thing. The Canada/3LK match will suck. Shelley on TV= good thing. Any news on who the mystery man is though? Young vs. Gilberti shouldn't be horrilbe. JJ/Hardy... Whatever. Just have the match already. No match for Monty this week? They seem to be building to a Truth/Monty match again, and that is one I'd like to see. If only to see how far Monty has actually come since the early days... Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy will both be in attendance at the Pay-Per-View, and neither one wants to wait until the match to get at each other! UGH. Why the hell do they do this? Is it too hard to ask that if you are going to do a slow buildup for a match later on........put them in a tag match or something. Shit like this just makes their shows look like they hardly have anything of value to give you for your money. Now, after I heard about this I thought they could be on to something. After I saw the talent in it.......I REALLY started looking into getting the show this week. This match has GREAT potential....hopefully it comes off the way it should. BEST OF THREE SERIES FOR THE #1 TAG TEAM TITLE AMERICA’S MOST WANTED VS. I wouldn't want to see Team Canada fight against a team that might actually put on a decent match with them.....but instead we get frickin 3 Live Kru......fuck this match.... Basically, I am HUGE on Shelley...but I can smell a schmoz a mile a way for this one. I've heard people mention that Abyss will be the partner......but I wouldn't want to see that.......yet. They honestly need to pick someone that Shelly would go out and look strong against(especially if they are building to the eventual Abyss/Shelley match) and that would basically be anyone on the roster except for about 5 or 6 guys in the entire company(considering I think Shelley rocks). Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 11, 2004 First show I'm getting in a LONG TIME, mainly because it's part of a deal set up with someone else. It's going to be awesome seeing La Parka (a.k.a L.A. Park) and Psychosis in TNA this week, and the rest of the card looks decent, especially AMW/xXx. Can someone give me a brief update on current storylines? I honestly don't remember the last time I've seen TNA, and the last thing I remember was the Styles/Killings/Jarrett title switches (which was before the first Impact I think)
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted August 11, 2004 Here ya go: The Major world title angle is Jeff Jarrett and his impending match with Jeff Hardy. Dusty Rhodes brought Hardy in, and promised him a title shot. This got Rhodes heat with Russo. Monty Brown also wants the championship, but he lost a #1 contenders match with Hardy. A feud with the Truth may be brewing for him. In the X Division Shane and Kazarain are co-champs becuase they both got the belt in the latest Utlimate X match when Kid Kash cost AJ the X title. Kash and AJ have been feuding because Kash says he's the best, basically. He also blamed AJ for his suspension and calims the TNA brass "coddle" AJ. The Tag Division is basically a big toss up, with the Naturals as champs, XXX and AMW in a "we respect you, but let's see who's better" rivalry, and 3LK takes on Team Canada this week for a "future" shot at the belts. This past week I started putting in match backgrounds for the matches, so hope that helps, whenever it gets posted. (LAZ, I'm looking at you.)

Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 12, 2004 First hour of the show was a real drag, but I'm glad they used the last hour to showcase why I like TNA... I seriously marked out for La Parka....I mean LaPark's dancing. Also I'm VERY happy to see Psycosis with the mask again, and FINALLY got to see Petey Williams Canadian destroyer Piledriver (ouch). Thanks for the info on the recent feuds...doesn't look like I missed much.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 So....rundown of the show, please? I want to know if I should actually shill out the $10 and order a replay or not (just to see the X-Division Invitational, since those are usually entertaining).
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 12, 2004 3 Live Kru vs. Team Canada (Devine & Young) - Kinda slow match with a Dusty finish....with DUSTY RHODES ACTUALLY INVOLVED! Winner: 3 Live Kru Alex Shelly vs. Ekmo - Blech. Ekmo was a bit sloppy, and Shelly got in very little offense. Another shitty finish. Winner: Alex Shelly. Abyss gave Ekmo two stiff chair shots and the blackhole slam. David Young vs. Glen Gilberti - BORING! BORING! BORING! At least the crowd was into the end...I guess. Winner: David Young by pinfall AMW vs. xXx - Fun, fast pace match. Not one of their better outings, but still ***+. I'm expecting the last match to be the best of course. Winner:AMW X-Division Gauntlet Match - Really hard to rate, but it was fast (only 60 second intervals) and fun for a TNA Rumble. Crowd was into it at first, but just gave up half-way on the countdowns. Winner: Petey Williams by pinning Amazing Red. The Canadian Guy (I forgot his name) hit Red with the hockey stick and Williams hit the piledriver Not the best show, with a horrible 1st hour, but the second hour was very entertaining. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 So Petey Williams is now the X-Division Champion? ...If so , w00t. Look at the sig. Outside an innovative... and ridiculous finisher, Petey Williams offers nothing to the X-Division. AJ Styles and Kid Kash needs to use the title to propel their feud. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 12, 2004 I think differently. Styles/Kash HATE EACH OTHERS GUTS (in storylines). Why would a title make a difference? Styles doesn't need the X-Title, and Kash wasn't the best champion in the Division.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 So this week's show was better than a few of the past ones. The one match hardly anyone was into was the Gilberti/Young match. No one was into it until the finish. I know the show ended with Russo looking on as Dusty tried to enter the ring. But after the show ended Dusty and D'Amore began to argue. D'Amore got on the mike and challenged Dusty to take off his hat and glasses and then they would go at it. Dusty took them off as security ran down and tried to break them up. Scott took off is belt and wanted to use it but Dusty took his belt off which was a lot bigger and ran after D'Amore, he got in a couple shots before D'Amore ran out and regrouped with Team Canada. The crowd chanted for Dusty and then everyone left.

Guest spags56 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 I tend to agree with Staravenger.... Their fued has developed into a hatred now, no longer involving Kash going after the title.. No need for it to be involved.. Petey, i like i do, a heel X champ with heat and a character.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 I guess TNA surprised me on this one. Didn't think the co-champ thing was gonna be over tonight. I like Petey as champ. I just hope Dusty coming out wasn't a way of saying he's gonna make the ref overturn the decision.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Any surprises in the Guantlet? No one earth shattering. The 2 BIG ones were announced by Meltzer (Psycosis & La Parka), and everyone else was cannon fodder. Jerrelle Clark, Jason Cross, Chris Vaughn, Chad Collyer, and Joey Matthews (who got a nice pop) all appeared. D-Ray 3000 got a 2 second entry before being dumped.
