Guest TigerDriver91 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 According to Wrestling Observer website, there was a new match announced for SummerSlam tonight on Velocity. London/Kidman/Mysterio vs. Bubba/D-Von/Spike
Lil' Bitch Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Can't wait. *marks out for Paul London finally making it onto PPV, especially one of WWE's big 4
Slickster Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 No WWE Tag defense on PPV? OR the CW title?
ChrisMWaters Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 No WWE Tag defense on PPV? OR the CW title? They might make the 6 man match a title for title match. Maybe, maybe not.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Oh, yes, Chris, the world demands Cruiserweight champion D-Von Dudley
ChrisMWaters Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Oh, yes, Chris, the world demands Cruiserweight champion D-Von Dudley Um...that's not what has been talked about... What's been talked about is that if The Dudleys win, Bubba and D-Von get the Tag Titles. If Team Cruiser wins, Rey Rey gets the Cruiser title. Just FYI.
algrim Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 It's a good thing they added an additional match. WWE has so much talent that they can use that is taken for granted. I'm also tired of Raw getting preferential treatment. If you are going to showcase both brands in an important event, make an equal number of matches.

So, London could pin Bubba and Rey would get the cruiser title?

So, London could pin Bubba and Rey would get the cruiser title? Precisely. Personally, I don't think any titles should be on the line. That can wait until the Smackdown PPV, where the title matches would mean something. It'd simply get overshadowed at Summerslam. Strange how this is Paul's first PPV. Nice card to make a PPV debut, don't ya think?

To once and for all end any question that they have the number of the Dudleys.

To once and for all end any question that they have the number of the Dudleys. They've done that in tag matches. Why would London or Kidman agree to a stip that says "If I pin the cruiserweight champion, the belt goes to some other guy" Ditto Spike and the tag title. Those three guys would have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 ChrisMWaters... That is by far, the most stupidest idea I have ever heard in my life. I agree with Anglesault for once.

Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Why can't people just be happy for once? They always got to fucking complain. They get what they wanted in Paul London being on the PPV, and now they have to whine about him being in a 6-Man instead of a Tag Team Title defense. Grow up. This is why I dislike the wrestling portion on this forums. Too much whiners and complainers. It takes the fun out of wrestling.
CanadianChick Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 Possible stipulations aside, this is going to be one fun match. Especially when Bubba's in the ring. He's good at beating up cruiserweights.

Sheesh.
Guest Tjhe CyNick Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 I wouldn't put any opf the titles on the line either, it really doesn't make sense. I say just let them go, no titles, just give them 8-12 mintues to start the show and try to steal the show. And as was said, they can save the title matches for either a major SD or the No Mercy show.
Guest JoeyStyles Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 I wonder who's doing Heat duty for Summerslam? I put my money on RVD, Mr. Velocity.
Guest Staravenger Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 I wonder who's doing Heat duty for Summerslam? I put my money on RVD, Mr. Velocity. Mr. Early-Saturday Evening Rob Van Dam vs. Rene Dupree for SNH Match I predict. Which sucks because this could've been a US Title Match last month.

People were just discussing the stips that could be involved in a match like this, stips which could very well be used (regardless of if it makes sense or not). Think Bubba/Trish vs Stevie/Jazz.
Guest Tjhe CyNick Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 La Res vs Rhyno/Tajiri seems like a good Heat match
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 La Res vs Rhyno/Tajiri seems like a good Heat match That match deserves to have a spot on the actual SummerSlam card. There might be a development on Raw tomorrow regarding that... hopefully.
Guest 2pacallyps Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 The six man tag could be good as long as they let Rey and London hit all their moves and the Dudleys don't slow the match down too much.

Mr. Early-Saturday Evening Rob Van Dam vs. Rene Dupree for SNH Match I predict. Which sucks because this could've been a US Title Match last month. Why would that suck then? It's a pretty high profile match for heat.. which would help WWE sell their product. Regular fans would be like wow.. this big of a match on Heat... Summerslam is going to be God like! RVD/Haas vs Dupree/Sakoda is my pick. Something along those lines, because I definately see Haas getting a slot somewhere due to his awesome match with Angle.
Dark Age Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Well, Sakoda is gone, but even if he wasn't, why on Earth would he be in there?
