Guest Astro Report post Posted August 8, 2004 A great deal of information has surfaced regarding the long-talked about "History of the WWE Championship" DVD (release date 12/28/04). Dark Age 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Ok, thanks. I would SO buy this, though I'm sure the price would be a lot. They should have filled up with more TV matches from the last few years.

Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 8, 2004 No way should ANYTHING from Over The Edge 1999 ever be shown again. And I'll believe it when I see physical proof from a real source, because this would cost like $400-500, and who in their right mind would pay for that? Also I have almost 80% of the matches from 87-present, so it's not really a hot DVD for me.
Guest Fook Report post Posted August 8, 2004 DISC TWELVE: -Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (Hell In A Cell; No Way Out, 2/27/00) -Triple H vs. The Rock vs. Mick Foley vs. Big Show (WrestleMania XVI, 4/2/00) They have these matches that are successful title defences, but they don't have the Backlash match or the Judgement Day Iron Man match, both of which were title switches. Odd.
Kizzo 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 If you know were to look...some stores may have it half price or even 50 % off... I got the Wrestlemania XX DVD for 18 bucks...
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 This sounds like something that would only be sold straight through WWE on Shopzone or something.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 This sounds and looks pretty damn expensive Maybe that's the whole point as Vince Mcmahon wouldn't want the history out in the public selling like the Flair dvd. You know it would hurt his revisionist history
BHK 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 If this is indeed legitimate, I'm marking out at the same time that my wallet is crying. This thing, if it's real, has to cosy at least $150.
Guest Dazed Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Normally I'd agree it sounds a bit too good to be true, if it wasn't for the fact that I have seen this title listed on various video sources for a 12/31 release. The source I came across: http://www.livejournal.com/community/pro_w...ing/109614.html . Original thread EDIT: The live journal page doesn't exist.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 8, 2004 If it is true, I gotta agree this will have to be a Shopzone exclusive. And $150 is like the BIGGEST UNDER-PRICE EVER, as one replica belt is $300.
BHK 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Also, it doesn't matter as much to be because I've seen it in its entirety, but why isn't the Benoit/Triple H Ironman on there?
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Because it's not The WWE World Title perhaps.
Guest Fook Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Also, it doesn't matter as much to be because I've seen it in its entirety, but why isn't the Benoit/Triple H Ironman on there? Same reason no other Raw title matches are there: no lineage.

Also I have almost 80% of the matches from 87-present, so it's not really a hot DVD for me. But do you have it on dvd? The only problem with this set is who exactly will be the announcers for these matches. Will it be the orginal audio, will it be edited like the Benoit vs Scorpio match or will it be Todd Grishim the idiot? I think if they sold it as individual volumes it could be very profitable but the casual fans will ignore the Bruno era. Or it could be split into 2 sets one would be the Bruno & Hogan eras; disc 1-6. Second set could include the Attitude to present or whatever HHH thinks is proper. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 8, 2004 I don't care about Wrestling DVD's except for rare cases. Most of my tapes are Masters and 1st Generations, so I don't need replacement for VQ. Plus god knows how much of the Atittude era will have blurs, and what commentaries will be dubbed over or taken out.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 It makes no sense. Why wouldn't the Rock/HHH at Backlash 00 and Judgement Day 00 be on there?

Dark Age 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2004 Price is $25. Looks like it will only be a 2 or 3 disc set, with matches skipped and clipped to hell. Looks like a bloodbath type DVD. Boo!
