LOST

I really liked that episode, especially all the parallels between the original Oceanic 6 flight and the Ajira flight 316.

- Jack on both occasions escorting a dead(?) body.

- Jack was offered condolences by an unknown man (played by Saïd Taghmaoui) waiting in line to board the same flight, Sayid offered his condolences in the same way before boarding Oceanic 815.

- Jack reading a letter on the flight, like Sawyer was on Oceanic 815.

- Frank Lupidas takes his place as the pilot after missing out on piloting the original Oceanic flight.

- Ben arriving late and only just making the flight, like Hurley did on the Oceanic flight.

- Ben is injured, as was Locke when travelling on the original flight.

- Ben gets up to use the bathroom, like Charlie on the original flight.

- Hurley reading a foreign comic book like Walt was on the original flight.

- Hurley has brought a Guitar, like Charlie did.

- Sayid is handcuffed and being escorted by a Marshall, like Kate was on the original flight.

- Sun is holding Jin's wedding ring - Rose was holding Bernard's ring on flight 815.

I also think we can expect some new Castaways, perhaps even "Tailies":

- The unknown man who offers his condolences to Jack and who Hurley tells to 'Buckle up" is played by Saïd Taghmaoui who has starred in many movies (Three Kings, Spartan, Traitor, Vantage Point, G.I. Joe)

- The Marshall played by Zuleikha Robinson (A series regular on New Amsterdam)

- The flight attendant played by Kavita Patil (she is seen often in "The Unit" as the chief comms officer) could be the new Cindy.

- The women who is lingering in the background while Jack is drinking at the bar is played by Patti Hastie, who played a nurse in the Shannon flashback episode 'Abandoned". She could be the new Anna Lucia, who also met Jack at a bar.

Lastly, when the original Oceanic Flight 815 crashed Jack saved Hurley and a pregnant Claire. After returning to the island Jack saves Hurley and Kate - could Kate be pregnant? (this would also make her mirror Claire from the original flight).

I'm glad the O6 made it back to the island already. I was afraid that they would spend the whole season finding a way back, that's how I thought it was explained. And that would have dragged

But Ben is a huge liar. He also told Locke that he was supposed to stay behind and lead The Others and that it was Ben's job to move the island.

This is a case where it probably seems like Ben was just mistaken. It was made pretty clear the last thing Ben actually wanted was to leave he was crying when pushing the wheel.

So a thought occurred to me: If Ben did, in fact kill Penny then I can see that being the catalyst for Widmore finding his way back to the island with Desmond's help. Des would want to go back to get revenge on Ben and I doubt he'd want to go through Mrs. Hawking for help. Clearly Widmore possesses similar technology to that which we saw in The Lamppost, explains how he located the island at the end of season three.

The one thing that struck me the last few episodes is that Widmore HAS to have followed Desmond, no? Aside from the fact that simply sending a guy to follow Desmond means he can locate his daughter who has been missing for 3 years... logic dictates that Desmond coming to see him about Faraday is connected to the island. And if Widmore's goal is to find the island than following Desmond may well lead to that. He even knows exactly where Desmond is going because he gave him the address.

So yeah, I'm with the people who have suggested that the new guy is Widmore's man who followed Desmond and in turn followed Ben and O6 when it seemed clear something was up. To that end I would think that Widmore's people would logically have been who got in Ben's way that night. Whether they stopped him from killing Penny (who Widmore was now watching) or just went after Ben because of their history, it seems likely to me that the bruises and blood came at the hand of Widmore's men instead of Desmond.

Either that or Widmore's not really trying that hard to find his daughter or the island. Because keeping tabs on the 06, following Desmond, and generally paying attention seems bare minimum. Widmore even knew Sun was traveling to LA and pursuing Ben, and assuming he was working with her may well have been the person who sent her the photos of Ben and Jack together.

He knew where Eloise Hawkings was but that doesn't necessarily mean he knew what was inside the church. As you suggested if he did know then it not only makes him following them pointless but makes his years of searching for the island seem kind of odd. Its possible he didn't know what was in there, didn't know how to work it, or wasn't allowed to by whatever those "rules" are that he and Ben mentioned. In which case just following Ben, Desmond, and the O6 makes sense because it may provide him with an opportunity to pick up more information. Or when he sees that the O6 are all on the same plane in the same section to stick a guy in that section. Maybe he thought they were going to do something in Ghana, maybe he suspected that they might be doing what they were doing. But if they have info he can't get to for whatever reason, following them makes sense.

How did Kate get on the plane if she isn't allowed to leave the state?

Just because you're not allowed to leave a state, doesn't mean you'll be on a no-fly list or anything like that. She'd get in trouble if caught, but she wasn't a high enough level criminal who would be followed at all times or anything like that.

And, I'm really looking forward to tonight as well. Should provide a whole lot of information and good Locke stuff.

Yeah, tonight's episode should be really helpful for answering a lot of the questions posed in season 4 and thus far in season 5. Plus, I'm pretty sure we'll get our first Walt appearance in an awfully long time.

Once again a friendly reminder for those who see the previews for next weeks episode tonight *Spoiler Tag That Shit*. For some reason the Canadian networks are switching their feeds right when the show is over and we don't see anything and based on the preview tonight Lost is giving some stuff away they maybe shouldn't.

He was briefly in the Season 4 finale.

Walt is in some random snack commercial now. It creeps me out. All these teenage kids running around and one of them is friggin' Walt.

He's definitely on tonight, he's listed in the credits.

So that is him? I saw the commercial the other day and I could have SWORN it was him. I tried to rewind it on my TV but I accidently changed the channel, so when I changed it back I couldn't rewind anymore. He looks a lot different, but you can still tell it's him.

Widmore was the leader that was exiled?

Did someone say that and get ridiculed by everyone a few pages ago?

You all owe me a fucking apology.

I find that it's usually not worth ridiculing anyone regarding Lost theories since no matter how ridiculous it sounds, almost nothing is implausible. Hell, even I "guessed" (but didn't actually mean) that the canoe with the Ajira airline water bottle was from Jack & crew returning to the island via crashed plane a few weeks back.

But hey, suddenly Charles Widmore doesn't seem like that bad of a guy.

Sorry, just wanted to make sure I had a handle on all of the groundbreaking revelations in there. Widmore and Ben have a beef, Widmore had Penny AND got rich? Just too much to handle.

EDIT: After your edits, I see what you're fiesty about. Carry on.

Anyway, the bad part about this episode is that we're probably going to get slammed with heavy doses of the far-less interesting O6. With the exceptions of EVIL! Sun and wondering which cameo Hurley will give us next, the O6 are just incredibly boring.

Just had to bump this because...
