USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 What's the difference between the names "INVERTED" and "REVERSE"?
Guest JebusNassedar Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Main Entry: in·vert Pronunciation: in-'v&rt Function: transitive verb Etymology: Latin invertere, from in- + vertere to turn -- more at WORTH 1 a : to reverse in position, order, or relationship b : to subject to inversion 2 a : to turn inside out or upside down b : to turn inward 3 : to find the mathematical reciprocal of <to divide using fractions, invert the divisor and multiply> synonym see REVERSE Main Entry: reverse Function: verb Inflected Form(s): re·versed; re·vers·ing transitive senses 1 a : to turn completely about in position or direction b : to turn upside down : INVERT 2 : ANNUL: as a : to overthrow, set aside, or make void (a legal decision) by a contrary decision b : to cause to take an opposite point of view c : to change to the contrary <reverse a policy> 3 : to cause to go in the opposite direction; especially : to cause (as an engine) to perform its action in the opposite direction intransitive senses 1 : to turn or move in the opposite direction 2 : to put a mechanism (as an engine) in reverse - re·vers·er noun - reverse field : to make a sudden reversal in direction or opinion synonyms REVERSE, TRANSPOSE, INVERT mean to change to the opposite position. REVERSE is the most general term and may imply change in order, side, direction, meaning <reversed his position on the trade agreement>. TRANSPOSE implies a change in order or relative position of units often through exchange of position <transposed the letters to form an anagram>. INVERT applies chiefly to turning upside down or inside out <a stamp with an inverted picture of an airplane>. Good enough?
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Hm, I've always had trouble with this myself. Inverse is when the move is flipped. For example, a normal DDT has the opponent face down while an inverted DDT has the opponent face up. I think reverse is just a reversal of a move.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Inverted IS face up! I win this round, Slasher Flick.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Inverted IS face up! I win this round, Slasher Flick. Why is Edge's DDT finisher considered an inverted DDT (as I was told)?
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Inverted IS face up! I win this round, Slasher Flick. Why is Edge's DDT finisher considered an inverted DDT (as I was told)? That's an implant DDT. What Christian does is an inverted DDT.

That's an implant DDT. What Christian does is an inverted DDT. Actually I was told Christian does the Reverse Inverted DDT, and Edge did the Inverted DDT but I concede this round to The Czech as no one is backing me up. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Maybe they mean the same thing. Alls I know, yeah I said ALLS I KNOW, is that Edge does an implant, not inverted, DDT.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 I couldn't possibly see how Edge's implant DDT could be inverted. It's the same move, but he elevates him. Obviously, I could be wrong, but that's what I've always been told. And fo Christian, we're not talking about he Unprettier, right? We're talking about his setup move, that JR for some reason calls the Unprettier as well, right?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Stevie T is the better DDT finisher.

Yes I was referring to the DDT where the opponent bends over backward and Christian falls on top of him...
Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Inverted=Victim's body position is flip flopped. Reverse=Motion of move is done in the opposite direction than it normally is. example: Inverted Suplex=Victim turned faced up and suplexed. Reverse Supelx=Victim lifted up and dropped forward instead of backward. So there you have it.
