Michrome 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Since I'm going to this I thought I'd start the thread. Samoa Joe vs. Doug Williams (World Title): Really looking forward to this. They had a match a year ago back when Joe had no endurance and it was way too short. Now Joe is super improved, Doug is world class, and this should be awesome. Austin Aries vs. CM Punk: Hardest match to pick in a long time. Aries is a rising star, but Punk is heading toward a big title match. Their midwest match almost 2 years ago got rave reviews, and both guys have come a long way. Should be strong. American Dragon vs. Alex Shelley: Total dream match for me on every level. This could be a MoTYC, and I expect it to get good time. The 2 best mat workers in the US one on one, and I can't wait. Homicide vs. Mark Briscoe: Should be very good. Mark is a great seller, and I assume most of this match will be Cide kicking Mark's ass. John Walters vs. Jay Briscoe (Pure Title): I'm still not happy about Walters as pure champ, but this should be fine. Jay is really good. Walters seems to be a lock here. Pitbulls vs. Maff/Whitmer vs. Strong/Evans vs. Carnage Crew (Ultimate Endurance): I loved the first Ultimate Endurance match, and can't wait to see what they do here. Acid vs. Kahgas vs. Rave vs. Izzy vs. Fast Eddy vs. Steele: I guess this could be an OK spotfest. Doesn't do anything for me. Whitmer/Maff vs. Slash/Venom: I don't know what to expect from the Puerto Rican guys. I expect a brawl here.

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 So Mark Briscoe is alright? That's good to hear. The most intriguing match to me is the Ultimate Endurance. I'm predicting a Pitbulls/Gen Next final.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Mark Briscoe vs. Homicide is my most anticipated match. Hey, Foley's gonna be there, right?
Michrome 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 Yeah Foley is making his debut. He signed on for more dates too, apparently wants to be a part of a real angle rather than just a one time thing.

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2004 Alex Shelley vs Bryan Danielson has been a dream match of mine for a long time, and now i'll get to see it not once but twice with the IWA and ROH matches. Punk/Aries, Ultimate Endurance and Doug/Joe should all be excellent as well, ROH has been putting out some fantastic shows since April and this one doesn't look like it'll break that streak. Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I know this sounds silly, but given that they pay a fair bit to fly Doug over for shows, do you think Joe could drop the title to him, I think he could carry the promotion, even if its just for a short while. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Since Joe still has title matches against Danielson, Homicide, Low Ki and Punk (Well not so much Cide) I don't think Doug is winning the belt.
Guest Markingout Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Also at the 9/11 show, the tape of 8/7 will be onsale! Dragon vs Shelley is going to great, and I also cannot wait to see Punk vs Aries. Aries has been on a hotstreak since May, let's see what they can do. I also want to see if Joe can hang on the mat with Williams crazy European style, should be good. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 What look to be full results from the ROH Board: MATCH #1 - JIMMY RAVE pinned DIXIE after the "Rave Clash." prior to match #2, Prince Nana called out Mick Foley as the newest Embassy member...Foley did not come out... MATCH #2 - JAY LETHAL beat MATT STRYKER After the match, Stryker turned heel in essence and cut a promo on the crowd. And boy were they MORE than ready to boo him!! Corino and Homicide had a verbal back and forth...Homicide asked Corino to shake his hand and Corino was contemplating it, but CM Punk got in the way and halted it. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 Sounds pretty boring on paper, but that 10/2 show looks incredible.
Tim Cooke 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 Yea, Danielson/Shelley and Punk/Aries really does sound boring on paper. Tim
Dewe 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2004 Great to see Corino back in ROH! He really is The King of Old School. He claimed that his feud with Homicide was over after the barbwire match, and he has denied a return to ROH in every single interview. Kayfabe lives!
