Dress code continues to be annoying

The dress code in WWE continues to cause problems amongst workers backstage. Most are furious with how the dress code doesn't apply to certain people such as The Undertaker.

Word has it that wrestlers were pretty ticked off when The Rock showed up to the building last week in jeans and a tank top.

Many of the guys are directing their anger at Johnny Ace because he was the reason fines were instituted as punishment to those who don't follow the policy.

in my mind they are absolutely right. Fine look professional if you feel the need it will improve your business in some compacity but then make all your guys do it. The Rock MIGHT be an exception and I said MIGHT because he is just about no longer a contracted wrestler anymore. But the Undertaker im sorry. If the rest have to do it, so must the deadman.

personally from this t shirt and jeans guy, dress code was never my favorite form of policy. But if its handed down and you must do it, well do it or get fined until you do do it.

People need to get over themselves. They lost the right to look like slobs, and now they're finding every reason to complain about it. Boo hoo.

I'm sick of Taker getting special treatment all the time. If he's a locker room leader, have him set the example.

I agree. Show some maturity, be a professional and maybe they'll relax the dress code again.

Yeah, I don't get what everyone is crying about. These are employees of a publicly traded, multi-million dollar company.

The days of Zubaz pants, fanny packs and tank tops is over. It's not that tough to look respectable.

Is there a chance that The Rock didn't even know about the dress code? Afterall, it's not like he's been around too often lately.

Or maybe if "locker room leader" Taker adhered to the dress code, the other guys wouldn't complain so much about it. He's supposed to set the example for "the boys in the back", so blatantly ignoring the newly applied dress code is basically saying "I'm better than all you chumps."

He made maybe one appearence since the dress code was enforced, the night he had a confrontation with Randy Orton and insulted everyone he met whem being escorted out of the arena.

And maybe it's time for these guys to take a basic grade school principle. Worry about yourselves and not other people. YOU have wear respectable clothing. That's all that matters. Let the Undertaker situation take care of itself. If he's doing something he shouldn't be doing, it will handle itself sooner than later.

I guess you forgot the segment on Raw a couple weeks ago where Rock was in the ring with the tramp search contestants.

No, that's the last time The Rock was there that the original article was talking about...correct? So that would've been the time that he actually wore the T-shirt & jeans which people are being pissed off about.

So he would've had to been there at least once prior to that to know about the code for his Diva day...which Staravenger pointed out.

If WWe wants a dress pants and button up shirt dress code it should only be enforced when the workers are at official WWe appearances.

It's stupid to demand they all dress like that while traveling to events. A travel dress code that says they can't dress like brooklyn brawler would be fine, but a dress pants and button up shirt travel dress code is too much.

Sports Teams request it.

Clearly not every NFL team does, as there's always several who are dressed casually when we see them arrive at a game. The casual guys don't look unprofessional, they look like guys who are about to participate in a physical event.

But the thing was before..it wasn't exactly 'slobs' that they looked like. I mean hell, if you are on the road almost every day, and when you do change it's either in a hotel room or a bathroom do you really feel like trying to get dressed 'suit and tie'? I doubt it.

I mean I agree, they shouldnt HAVE to be dressed like Orton was this week, or like Evo does every now and then..I mean what was wrong with like, what christian was wearing when he ran out on RAW, or when he debuted? Simple jeans..a fairly decent shirt, and he still looked presentable.

I personally (if I was one of the ones getting decent pay, which may be the case here) wouldn't follow the dresscode at all. Every time I was told it'd be a kind of 'whatever' becacuse that's just stupid. I think this'll end up like the 'tuck in your shirt rule' at my school freshmen year...it'll be over in a few months.

Well I'd be observing a dress code if I got fined for not following it like WWe is doing.

What bug got up Vinces BUTT to cause this? It seems to me as if he wants people to take his workers seriously- BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH the entire country at large (exempting fans and casual fans) sees wrestling and especially WWE as a joke anyway.

I mean I get it, he doesn't want them to look slobish, but I would think nice jeans and a tshirt aint so bad if its not all wrinkly and dirty.

as for Rock, that's what he was wearing to the ring that night, on TV the dress codes is supposed to be about traveling and such right? But I guess you mean backstage and leaving and stuff.

here's an idea Vinnymac, stop worrying about the dress codes and try to keep putting on quality entertainment for us fans okay? It's not too much to ask when we spend lots of dough on tix, ppvs, dvds, cds, and video games, and magazines , etc

Sports teams aren't on the road 250 days a year, flying all over the world, driving all over the country, busting their bodies every night.

Perhaps I just don't see the problem with a suit and tie. I also take pride in what I look like when I'm out in public, and I can understand that that's not a priority for a lot of people. But I can certainly understand the higher ups in the company wanting their employees to look respetable. I don't think traveling and wrestling should give you the right to look like a bum.

Orton was OVER dressed? He was wearing slacks, a shirt and a blazer. Hell, he wasn't even wearing a tie. That (especially if he takes off the blazer) is pretty casual wear.

They're not being asked to wear a tux, they're being asked to look somewhat presentable. And sadly, a tank top or budweiser t-shirt just doesn't cut it any more.

Christian looked like frat boy on his way to a kegger.

Considering the WWE IS like a frat boy on the way to a kegger, I think his attire fit perfectly.

The moral probably is in the crapper because of lower pay-outs and since they can't complain about that then they complain about this. And they wouldn't be complaining if all the wrestlers were forced to dress as asked. I mean, the WWE isn't pulling a Steinbrenner just yet and demanding shaves and full suits.

It's a tad juevnile yes, but they aren't seeing fair and equal treatment and they aren't making the money they expected. So you add those up and of course wrestlers are going to vent frustration about something. The other option would be to really start beating the hell out of each other.

Well yea..it was a 'dress suit'. IMO anything you wear that would be considered as being 'dressed up' if you were to walk into church is to much for just walking around. That's more then 'casual'.

But then again, of course we probaly have two different opinions of what being dressed up is.

I just don't get why they can't just dress their gimmick, if keeping kayfabe is so important. I can see not being slobs, but it just seems strange for someone with a gimmick like John Cena's to wear a button up shirt.

Probably because the John Cena gimmick dresses like the guy who lives under the boardwalk.

Has it been reported they must wear a button up shirt? Black slacks and a tucked in plain black T-shirt is still casual, nice, light and comfortable.

I'm not pro-dress code, but AS does have a semblance of a point. It doesn't hurt for members of the roster to look slightly smarter than they usually would. It does create a good first impression to fans, even if they don't 'care' about it they'll notice it.

Then again, if they're too strict on the dress code then obviously it's gonna cause problems, considering it's a new thing. It would have been smarter for Vince, who correct me if I'm wrong IS still a 'business man', to have been smarter in trying to keep his workers contented. Bringing in a strict dress-code instantly after so many years of not having one is going to cause more of a problem than introducing one gradually.

Now, if they were smart, they'd be enforcing a dress code where the roster have to wear their merchandise 24/7. That way, it's always on display and fans are more likely to notice Trips' new shirt and think "hey, I want one of those!"

Yes, because homeless people wear throwback jerseys all the time.

No, they wear the 1972 jersey that they bought in 1972.
