I love the Lizzie McGuire show and I think her movies are fun. And I thought Raise Your Voice, her first attempt at drama, was pretty fucking awesome even though no one saw it. I love her music- it's good to put on when I just want to relax.

There's just something about her that really clicks with me- it's hard to explain.

And of course I hate her sister equally as much as I love Hilary.

Hilary's coming to Saskatoon on the 8th Banky- you should go

She sold out TO instantly (like in 10 minutes) so they added another date. That's almost sold out as well

Why do people like her? She's kinda chubby.

Kids like her because they feel she's just like them and she has a sunny persona, she smiles a lot and isn't a whore getting photographed all the time in US Weekly and In Touch getting drunk. She's also funny and has the ability despite her fame and all that to be very relateable and appeal to kids. Also she's never turned her back on her demographic like others have.

I'll ignore the chubby comment since she's not.

Hilary Duff is slowly gaining weight, don't deny it!

Wow, I'm glad you acknowledged that I rightfully think its a shitty MTV Movie. 'Cause it is.

I could give a fuck who produced it. Don't watch the captions at the beginning, watch the movie.

The first time I watched Napoleon Dynamite, I thought it was extremely average.

Then, I viewed it again and decided that it's truly one of the silliest movies to ever be captured on film and for that, it must be commended. Some of the one liners are absolutely ridiculous, you can't help but laugh in awe of the absurdity of them.

She's "big boned," if anything.

And I didn't even know that was Haylie Duff, or whatever her name is, until I read it in here. She played Summer, right?

It seems like Napoleon Dynamite is the type of movie that is either loved by people who think it's fucking hilarious or is hated by people who think it's more annoying than funny.

The only people who don't like the movie are the one's they are making fun of. ie. people like Napoleon

MTV didn't produce it.

Fox Searchlight went to MTV and asked them to put their name on the film to help gain more publicity.

Yes

Finally saw it last night. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it. It definitely suffered from too much hype, the way Igby Goes Down did for me. It definitely had some funny moments though, in its own deadpan way. I liked the Wes Anderson-esque opening credits sequence. Uncle Rico stood out much more than ND did as an initially annoying but likeably tragic character, much like Vincent Gallo in Buffalo '66. And the "Two Months Later" epilogue after the credits was a cute moment for Napoleon's equally pathetic brother Kip.

Haylie Duff, however, is definitely not hot. Not even close. Not even compared to her sister, who I think is also a dog.

I might buy the DVD used for around $7, but I doubt I'd ever pay full price for it.

I'm afraid to see Napolean Dynamite now. I considered seeing it in theaters, where it seems that no one saw it then. Once the DVD hit, it seems to be huge, and everyone has seen it and loves it. Kind of like what happened with Office Space. Of course I saw Office Space in the theater, and even after it's dvd success I still don't think it is overrated. So I guess this means I will be checking out Napolean Dynamite.

Really, the movie is making fun of everyone in high school. I thought it was more harsh towards the "cool" kids than the people like Napoleon. That one popular guy was portrayed as a complete tool.

I'm sitting here watching this flick again, and I'm still loving it. I like how it flows a great deal. This will be one of my most re-watched DVDs that I own.

I saw it the first time around, and I loved it. That's because I had a pretty bad day at work, so I laughed at. I gave it a grade of B+ when I first saw it. Then, I watched it again on a day off. Let's just say, I found it painfully average to the fact that it should've been three minutes long like the short film it was based off. Fw parts I found funny: the ham-steak scene, Pedro's Protection, and the Rex Knaw-Do . I thought the dance scene could've been cut down to atleast a minute, becasue it felt like it went on forever. The guy who was Napoleon just came off as un-funny, and Pedro pretty much stole the show in the movie. What pissed me off is that it got all the hype, like "Best Movie of 2004" at IMDB's boards. It's not gonna be another Rocky Horror, Rocky Horror has an un-beatable fan-base that nobody could beat. The plot wasn't that good. It should've been called Pedro Sanchez, not Napoleon Dynamite. Napoleon should've been a side-kick.

Second Time Around Grade: D+

Wes Anderson and Christopher Guest run circles around this guy.
