Ann Coulter shares her thoughts about the election

Recommended Posts

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/featu...4133617-5244945

Amazon.com: How important is this presidential election in the larger context of the Republic and its history?

Ann Coulter: Insofar as the survival of the Republic is threatened by the election of John Kerry, I'd say 2004 is as big as it gets.

Amazon.com: Is there one standout issue, and why does it make a difference? What are the most crucial issues?

Coulter: I repeat: The survival of the Republic is threatened by the election of John Kerry. I'd say that's the big one.

Amazon.com: What are the top five books you'd recommend to become an informed voter? And what can your new book contribute?

Coulter: The Bible, High Crimes and Misdemeanors, Slander, Treason, and How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must).

Amazon.com: What's the closest parallel from American history to this year's race?

Coulter: 1864. Bush is Lincoln and Kerry is General McClellan--who, I note, was a great military leader. I repeat: The survival of the Republic is threatened by the election of John Kerry. I'd say that's the big one.

Amazon.com: What is the most important lesson from President Bush's term so far?

Coulter: Peace through strength is an idea that never goes out of style. Also, some people can’t be negotiated with but have to be crushed; e.g., the Taliban, al Qaeda, possibly North Korea and Iran, Pat Leahy, Carl Levin, Richard Ben-Veniste...

Amazon.com: What would a Kerry administration mean?

Coulter: Quite possibly the destruction of the Republic.

yeah.. you have to crush people like the Iranians and Carl Levin. And the New York Times too. ;)

Ya know.. Coulter's positioning herself to move up the ladder after the election. Or jump off of it.

Wow, in six short answers to six simple questions, she mentions the destruction and/or survival of "the Republic" no less than four times. That's not just hyperbole, that's bad George Lucas dialogue. "Senator Palpatine MUST be stopped, the survival of the Republic is at stake!"

Amazon.com: What are the top five books you'd recommend to become an informed voter? And what can your new book contribute?

Coulter: The Bible, High Crimes and Misdemeanors, Slander, Treason, and How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must).

Wow. She named four of her own books... and the Bible. Just... wow. Modesty, humility, or hell even reality ain't her strong points, eh? (Not to mention her amazing talent to chose the most infuriating if not offensive titles possible for her "works".)

Amazon.com: What's the closest parallel from American history to this year's race?

Coulter: 1864. Bush is Lincoln and Kerry is General McClellan--who, I note, was a great military leader.

So somehow, the closest possible parallel to our police actions in Iraq is... the Civil War? And comparing Bush to Lincoln seems like a bit of a stretch.

Firstly: I'd say that the more proper phrasing would be "PEACE is an idea that never goes out of style". The Soviet Union didn't have to be crushed with strength. Also, we apparently need to crush some of our own innocent civilians now?

Can I please state for the record how much I fucking hate this bitch?

Hell, I'm loving Coulter simply because she is so able to utterly piss all of you off to the point of desiring her murder.

I remember seeing her actually try to defend Joe McCarthy...

Hilariously pathetic.

Im from Wisconsin and around here, we're not too proud of Senator Joe.

Sad thing is, there actually WERE Communists in the gov't. KGB files showed that.

He was a drunken prick --- but he was right in his theory.

He just lacked actual proof.

Yeah, but Uncle Joe didn't just say there were KGB spies in the government, which was obviously probably true; we had spies in their government too. He claimed to have a list of 200 names of proven communists employed by the state department. Needless to say, said list was not exactly ever shown to the public.

"You all" meaning Jingus..

Jingus, are you only one man?

Do you fear President Coulter?

I'd consider it pretty friggin' irresponsible to make a claim about Communists in the state department without any actual proof. The claims varied from 57 to 81 to 205. But he only hurt the careers of people who he suspected of being red (such as Owen Lattimore) and also worked against those who dared to restrain him (Tydings).

Basically, all he could get credit for is firing his gun blindfolded and hitting some targets. In other words.. he threw shit and some of it stuck to the wall.

Coulter and McCarthy would be one heck of a couple

Well, the survival of the Republic is at stake.

Yes, it's true. Next year, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine will overthrow the Republic and create the Galactic Empire.

Do you think George Lucas will model it after Emperor Bush the First?

Oh come on dude, I've lived in Wisconsin, the northern part of the state is full of drunken right-wing nutjobs, the only difference is they're not as prominent.

In my own personal, and admittedly extreme position, I think Lincoln did more irreversible damage to this country than Kerry ever could by introducing, you know, income axes (pun intended).

Oh, absolutely. And the drunken conservative ignorance isnt sequestered only to the northern portion.

But anyone here with any semblance of knowledge of our own history will lump McCarthy in with neigbors like Dahmer and Gein, never Bob LaFollette.

It's funny how you ignore everything else he said to take seriously what he was exaggerating about, that being her murder. This, coming from the guy who advocates more beatdowns than anyone else on the board.

"Hell, I love Michael Moore because he seems to get piss off all you guys to the point of where you want to murder him. And by all you guys, I mean one, and by murder, I mean not really."

I assume that "John Kerry will destroy the Republic" will become as lame a long running joke as "John Kerry served in Vietnam".

"I have it on good authority that MikeSC eats puppies"

Mr. SC, can you refute these charges?

I hear there's more people who claim that you like to eat puppies.

In my experiences, the southern part of the state has some liberal enclaves, namely The People's Republic Of Madison, and Milwaukee, which is full of murderous drug-addled welfare jockeys, whose real only overlap with the conservatives is their affinity for packing heat. Seriously. I fear Milwaukee more than Chicago. Plus, it's the only major American city to have elected three Socialist mayors.

Walworth County, however, is supposed to be one of the most conservative counties in the state. And thanks to my temporary hometown of Lake Geneva, it also has more DUIs per capita than almost anywhere.

Coulter: Quite possibly the destruction of the Republic.

The easiest response to this would be a quote from Maureen Dowd:

"Cheney implies that John Kerry couldn't protect us from an attack like Sept. 11,

blithely ignoring the fact that he and Bush didn't protect us from the real Sept.11."
