Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I know everyone's gonna hate this..but really it's the only correct way to go. I understand the 'fans want to see the match' but still..that doesn't change the fact that Jericho would have been...well basically not even looking in the direction of the world title to all of a sudden getting a shot. And title for title is not something I want to see. If Jericho does get a World Title shot in the future...there needs to be some kind of chance for him to win. The match probaly, and well...rightfully so might be Jericho/HBK/Christian, unless they decide to go the HBK/Christian, and Y2J/Tomko again..
Enigma 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Tomko's injured, so I doubt it. I think WWE is aiming for HBK/Christian and Y2J/Edge, if Edge is healthy.
GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 So how is the voting going to work? Are only people who bought the PPV going to be allowed to vote?
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 ^ that's impossible unless they want everyone to go through a screening process to vote.
Guest Shoes Head Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Besides HHH/Jericho, there's not a match I want to see. Unless fans can vote for stipulations too. In that case I'd want Flair v.s. HBK ironman, and Christian v.s. Jericho in a barbed wire/hallogen light texas death. The other two hours of the card Buck Naked Matches between divas. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I imagine they'll do a multiple choice of wrestlers and gimmicks to choose from, and fans will vote online and none of it will mean a lick cause they really don't care what the fans want. I suppose they think the Interactive element is an incentive for fans to buy the PPV - so they can watch the show "they made". Though it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they charged $0.99 a vote (which honestly is a good idea in terms of creating a database and seeing who has interest in what... but it's a total rip off to the fans). GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 ^ that's impossible unless they want everyone to go through a screening process to vote. Well like the people who buy the webcast - they could be furnished with a secure link for voting. Perhaps a phone number will be given out during the PPV for cable/satellite buyers? The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 How can you vote when the PPV is going on? I mean, I can safely assume that we will know the winners of each by at least the Raw the night before if not sooner. It would give time to at least try to up the heat of the match a little before it actually happened.

slimm44 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I don't see how it eliminates him, God (or Vince) forbid Jericho wrestle 2 matches in one night...you would think since it being named 'Taboo' it would make more sense for him to be a candidate.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I think it'd be kinda cool to have Jericho an option and having to defend the IC belt. Hell, have Triple H as an option for the IC belt too. But, I don't see it happening. I just knew that Jericho wouldn't even be an option. At least this way makes semi-sense though, since he's got his own title to defend. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Cause "the fans pick the matches!" and thusly "anything can happen in WWE!" Or something. Well, actually it's... "The fans pick the matches from a small selection of options we've already picked in advance so they really don't have much choice in the matter. That's good because our fans are dumb." Probably for the World Title Match, it will be like this: Who do you want to challenge Triple H for the World Title at Taboo Tuesday? 1. Definately Randy Orton 2. I'm fairly sure I want Randy Orton 3. I'm undecided, so Randy Orton 4. I don't want Randy Orton, but Vince is a genius so I'll go with it anyway. 5. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 People actually want to see Jericho/Triple H? Have the past few years taught you nothing? Has this board taught you nothing? I'd rather have Jericho defend the IC Title than face HHH in a match he won't win. "The fans pick the matches from a small selection of options we've already picked in advance so they really don't have much choice in the matter. That's good because our fans are dumb." Why would they do anymore than a small selection though? It'll be a shortlist of 'worthy' contenders, in an attempt to be more 'legitimate' and cash in because it's awards season and the Oscars are coming up soon. Hell, when was the last time the nominations for best actor at the Oscars was "every man who's starred in a film in a certain time period and is therefore eligible". It'll be a shortlist of 'worthy' contenders, in an attempt to be more 'legitimate' and cash in because it's awards season and the Oscars are coming up soon. It'll be WWE's list of "worthy" contenders, which will probably look kind of like my example. It's very convenient that the only title match where a face is champion has already been booked. It's a good thing that the other titles are held by heels, or the idea may not work out well... Although at least it shows WWE put some thought into this before going ahead with it. It's still a farce, though, because even if they actually use the voting they'll just manipulate it. After all, the fans would have cheered for option number 3 that Vince mentioned on Raw basically regardless of what it was.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Jericho's the most over face on Raw. Triple H is the most over heel on Raw. Therefore, they'll never face each other ever again. Duh.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Being that the event will be booked on the fly...there's about a 0% chance of HHH dropping the belt, as opposed to the 1% we're used to.
KTID 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 I don't get the point of this thread. Why is "Y2J won't wrestle HHH at Taboo Tuesday" worthy of discussion? Why would they be wrestling? Y2J (vs Christian/Michaels) and HHH (vs Orton) are both already in separate fueds leading to the PPV.
