algrim 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 that Wanda is the culprit?!! I mean, what else would Dr. Strange be suggesting? I really liked the way Hawkeye went out in a blaze of glory. Oh well, hopefully he won't stay "dead" very long. Back to the first subject. Why would Wanda do something like this? Is she being controlled by someone else? converge241 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 good questions (PS Flash had a wicked cliffhanger this week as well) i thought it was either Wanda or Loki..maybe a combination..there have been all kinds of little tidbits about how powerful the chaos magic really is (in stuff like JLA/Avengers and other stories)..and maybe Loki has his hand in there somehow (guessing that based on loki being the 1st foe and thinking they would want that type of sense of history to it)..could be wrong on this if Loki is out of the picture in Thor recently (dont read it so wouldnt know) i was bummed at the hawkeye death wanted him in the new T-Bolts series my only other complaint is that i wished the series was longer so much stuff is happening too fast..and yes, I understand thats part of the story to be bombarded with all this stuff, i just would like a couple more issues to space it out

Vyce 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 Wanda? .....I'm assuming this is going to make sense at some point. You know, I've defended Bendis to people before in the past - I don't want to have to change my mind on him now.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 Could be the kids she had with the vision.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Could be the kids she had with the vision. I forgot who was responsible for it, but the kids are dead. Someone with more powerful magic destroyed thm.
algrim 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 The true culprit was Immortus. He was somehow manipulating Mephisto (?). He made Mephisto hide two pieces of Master Pandemonium's soul in Wanda's children. Naturally, Pandemonium went after the children and absorbed them into his being. Coincidentally, John Bryne was co-writer of this story.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Avengers has become the book I read to see how bad it'll get. I feel like I'm reading the Ultimates or something.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'm still wondering which writer will get the unenviable task of restoring the Avengers franchise.
algrim 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2004 I'm thinking Mark Waid or Warren Ellis. OIt would definitely be a new take.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2004 Bah. Hawkeye kicking th ebucket ticks me off. He's always been one of my fav's. At least his wife, Mockingbird, is dead too. Hawkeye won't stay dead. He won't come back as quickly as, say, Magneto, but he'll be back among the living soon enough...
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 I'm thinking Mark Waid or Warren Ellis. OIt would definitely be a new take. Waid has said he has no interest in the Avengers, but I'd love to see what Ellis could do.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 What's the over / under on when the cleanup will begin? I say that by this time next year they've already hired someone to try and fix the stinking mess Bendis left behind.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Well, they waited exactly 5 issues before retconning the Magneto crap that Morrison left behind, and Bendis is exclusive, so... 18 months.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 I'd say we have a new writer by New Avengers 16.
