Not Fade Away - The best Angel episode without a doubt in my mind. Hush didn't have the gravity that this episode had. This felt like a movie, it -much like The Gift- felt like everything was coming together and you had this grand sense of anticipation. Thinking about it right now makes me want to watch it so bad. Greater emotional strength than Hush, greater performances both as a group and individually. Hush had the funnier moment with Giles and the overheads, but NFA was much more well rounded. It was a full course meal, leaving me incredibly satisfied in the end. The best series finale I've ever seen.

 

The Gift - One of my favourite Buffy episodes, if not my absolute favourite. Brilliant in execution and resolution, each character got to shine and really peaked here. Anya coming through suggesting ideas, Xander making his proposal, Willow "finding" Tara, Dawn preparing for death, Spike saying he'd die protecting Dawn for Buffy, Giles killing Ben, Buffy sacrificing herself and her touching speech at the end. Numerous memorable moments, with the one that truly stands out is Giles shocking murder of Ben "...Not like us." "us?". I love that. Its one of my favourite scenes ever (as is Wesley and Illyria).

 

Both of these episodes make me weep that Firefly never made it to their 5th season.

Rudo is right about all. The ONLY thing wrong with NFA is that we barely see the fighting. Hamilton/Angel is ok(besides the dumb ending) but with like Spike and Lorne's fight we see nothing. I want to see more of Gunn's!
