therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Mikey was at my school on Thursday giving a lecture and from what I heard from people, it seems he's trying to use scare tactics to get college kids to vote for Kerry. Apparently he said that "Bush is going after 18 to 26 year olds with the draft if he wins." Is it just me or is Mikey just desperatley grabbing for straws? And another question: He apparently was late for the lecture, which brings up the tough question.......Was he in Atlantic City inhaling a casino buffet or were people having to grease up the doors to the gym to he could squeeze in? If Mikey comes out here I'll be very angry, but I wouldn't worry about it. He charges a ton, we don't have money, and EWU is a pretty quiet school. We don't have a bunch of vocal people that would A. go out and get him, and B. Give a shit about seeing him. This could mean a draft. 1. Mike's weight hasn't killed anyone yet. And I stress "yet." 2. There is NO way that there will be a draft. Even if Bush and Rumsfeld wanted one, there's no way Congress would pass it because it would end their careers. (The draft, like Social Security, is one of those issues that is POLITICAL DEATH if you touch it.) Where we go from here depends on how our resources (people and equipment) are deployed over the next four years. If we finish up in Afghanistan, there's a significant chance that the Special Forces troops could be sent to Syria and Lebanon because those are small countries where we could mainly do surgical strikes. I don't see us going into Iran in the next four years unless Iraq is standing completely on its own and we have some form of international support. Support in Iran, however, will be easier to come across than for Iraq since Iran is getting showing a lot of balls about their nuclear program while Saddam just played dumb to the world for his last few years in power. (The French, pussies that they are, won't want in.
