Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Smackdown looks pretty good for once this week. It's interesting that it looks like Kidman is pretty much confirmed as the heel in this feud, I thought with the way Tazz was supporting London and Cole was supporting Kidman, that London would end up the heel. Australian Pride 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 John Heidenrich was on top of the Smackdown fist and he started to read everyone a new poem. Why are they continuing with this crap? The continued build for London/Kidman sounds pretty good though, unless it's a Lance Storm chairshot. It's a bit confusing though - he wont hit the SSP, but he will wallop someone with a chair?
Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Maybe they're trying to make Kidman look more of a hypocrite. He doesn't want to injure anyone with the SSP, but he'll gladly belt someone with a chair.

strummer 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 it's pathetic how they are trying new ways to get Torrie on TV, a ring announcer on Velocity!? WTF!? It's almost like they are afraid to keep her off TV in fear that everyone would stop watching if she wasn't on for at least a half a minute. Looks like they are going to program RVD with Jindrak At least they seem to have found a role for Dawn, looks like they will pair her with the Dudleys. As long as she doesn't wrestle, it's a good move. But it looks like they are going to have her work Miss Jackie UGH Been there done that with UT and the "Symbol" I love how a week before a PPV, the comedy heels become "serious", first with Angle and Show, and now JBL. WOW, he made Bob Holly bleed, now he has credibility!! Seems like weak hype for the PPV on Sunday
cbacon 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Wow, JBL can't even get a decisive win over Hardcore Holly. Since his post-Mania stint the only legitimate guy he's beat has been Guerrero. If they have confidence in this guy, why isn't he beating contenders left, right and centre (that don't happen to be Guerrero or a random crusierweight)? strummer 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 More detailed report from PWI: Velocity matches: Carlito Caribbean Cool beat an indy guy whose name I completely missed. Torrie Wilson comes out to hype Velocity. Johnny the Bull wrestled a decent match against Akio. Stamboli wins with a gorilla press into a power slam. The Bashams in blue tights over two jobbers from Emporia, Kansas (Wrestlers from Emporia, KS? Really? Oh, brother). This was pretty boring. Dupree and Suzuki had a nice match against Funaki and Shannon Moore. Faceplant on Moore (I think) and a win for the champions. There may be another match here that I am forgetting but it's late... Smackdown: The show began with Angle introducing his new team of excellence: Jindrak and Luther. He talks about how Big Show throwing him off the balcony was a huge mistake. Theodore Long interrupts and explains that the match at No Mercy between Angle and Show is 1 on 1, with anyone interfering being fired. JBL gets beat down during his backstage interview by Hardcore Holly. This sets up a non-title match later on in the evening. Tag match: Dudleys vs. Rico & Haas. Dawn Marie comes to ringside to talk with Tazz and Cole. During the match, Dawn interferes and catfights with Jackie. This causes Rico to leave the match and Haas loses. More catfighting between Jackie and Dawn. Nice. Cut to John Cena (backstage) hyping his match at No Mercy against Booker T. He said he isn't 5 times, he's 1 time, and that 1 is Booker T. Heidenreich climbs up the Smackdown Fist to read a poem while Paul Heyman and others plead for him to get down. I found this to be a little tasteless to have someone up after Owen Hart's death in Kansas City. I thought that the WWE was finished with the high-up in the air, high risk stuff. I was in attendance when Owen fell and this with Heidenriech was hard to watch. Just my personal opinion. JBL's match against Bob Holly is next. JBL gets the upperhand and pummels Holly after a few minutes of back and forth action. JBL bloodies Holly up by hitting him with the stairs. Ref calls for the bell. JBL continues to pummel Holly even after being disqualified. He then gets on the mic and tells UT that he is not scared of anyone. What's this? The lights go down (or blue) and The Undertaker appears on the Titan Tron Screen. He says that he has destroyed Gangrel, Viscera, and now Orlando. Orlando is shown hanging on the UT sign in the rafters (not unlike Austin from years back). JBL is terrified! Undertaker says that all that's left is JBL. UT goes away and JBL leaves looking frightened. Booker T vs. Paul London. As Kidman looks on from the ramp, Booker gets a quick win with his kick. After the match, Kidman comes down to stop Booker T from hitting Paul London with a chair. Kidman then hits Paul with the chair himself. Non-title Cruiser match with Spike going up against Nunzio. Johnny the Bull and D-Von and Bubba are ringside. After some cheating on the Dudley's part, Spike goes for the pin but Nunzio schoolboys him for an upset win. Good match! Main Event Time! Eddie Guerrero plus a mystery partner vs. Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak. Guerrero calls out his friend, RVD. Decent match. RVD blows a kick off of the ropes to Luther later in the match. The ending sees Luther putting his finisher on Eddie and then Jindrak squeaking out a win from it. Angle then comes down to beat down the good guys, but RVD and Eddie are able to get the upper hand by Angle accidentally taking out his own men. The bad guys leave and Eddie and RVD celebrate. Eventually, they head out of the ring and Eddie offers RVD a ride, they exit via the Low Rider. Overall, a decent show. A lot of people were disappointed to see no Big Show, no Undertaker, no Cena, and no Rey Mysterio live! A go-home show before the PPV and none of these huge superstars? It seemed a little weird. Aero 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 It seems weird that RVD has a different tag team partner heading into a tag team title match at a PPV. It looks like a decent show, and probably better than Raw. Looks like new No Mercy matches: Dudleys & Dawn vs. Haas, Rico, & Jackie Nunzio vs. Spike

Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 If they do make Spike and Nunzio for the PPV and give them some time, that could be a bitchin match.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 The thing about these spoilers that I found particularly disgusting was the main event result. They've got Eddie and RVD jobbing out to Luther and Mark Jindrak? Do you know how insulting that is to any sane person's intelligence?
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 So let's see...people were pissed they were saying a "Death" comment on Raw about Kane and it had to do with Owen...now they did this with Heidenriech that is going to make people pissed.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Major Miscommunication With Smackdown: "We didn't think putting a black man on a symbol that strikingly resembles a cross would be a bad idea, atleast...we didn't think about it at the time. This is Kansas for crying out loud!" Smackdown was put in a bind when they could not find John Cena in the arena. After a quick phone conversation, it was revealed he didn't think he would be needed for the show, even with a somewhat high-profile feud going on with him as a centerpeice. Luckily, he was outside a Big Lots only a few hours away, and a camera crew quickly rushed to get a hastily put together promo for Cena that ended up airing on the show. Everyone could tell it was hastily put together as he rhymed "Booker T" with "Booker Stephanie", though everyone had a good laugh and it has since been swept under the Creative Rug. No word as of yet if Cena was following dress code procedures while at the Big Lots, though he did say 50 cents a foot on chain and another dollar off each of his "collectable" Master Locks. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2004 RVD's always the mystery partner. Always. Though I am surprised it was Eddie who did the job, not Rob. I thought that since Rob is in a lower profile match and all.
