I think the Giants are every bit as good as their record. They got whipped by the Eagles at home, but they've played solid football ever since.

 

The record of their opponents they've beaten is 4-8, but I guess that's parity.

Injuries, I mean going from Brett Favre to DOUG FUCKING PEDERSON, quite possibly one of the worse quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL (You Eagles fans will remember him from McNabb's rookie year)

I see the Joe Gibbs love has dwindled. Skins lose to the Browns 17-13 and fall to 1-3.

NE's gonna win this game, thank god. Looks like after they set the new reg season wins record next week (if they haven't already, I lost track) they'll have their first challenge in two weeks--other than Colts--when the Hawks come to town.

They've been crap ever since Snyder bought the team. They seemed to have something with Schottenheimer in 2001, but Danny Boy got all excited for Spurrier and down the toilet the Redskins went again.

I still maintain that Green Bay is definitely a playoff team, and I think they can bounce back from this. What troubles me however, is winning only 50% of the last 12 games at Lambeau Field. If this was really a well-coached team, I'd have figured the Packers would come back from the great game last week at Indy and come to play hard today and blowout the Giants.

 

I think Slowik's still trying to grasp how he can best utilize the defensive personnel, and the Giants really lucked out today with the injury to Favre. I think if #4 had been in there instead of Pederson, this game would have gone the Packers' way. There was also again terrible officiating against both sides in this game yet AGAIN, but that's no excuse for the poor performance against the run.

 

I do have to say I'm extremely impressed with the Giants and I have to give Tom Coughlin some major props. He's definitely got them playing extremely disciplined football.

 

Green Bay has fumbled in every single one of their losses, two of which were crucial game-swinging plays.. The 95 yard fumble return for the Bears in Week 2, and the Javon Walker fumble last week at Indy which secured the win and prevented Green Bay from coming back. The one today wasn't particularly crucial as much as Pederson's absolutely HORRIBLE play (On his first drive, he threw the interception that led to the go-ahead score for the Giants and then followed that up with a few more throws and another INT that would probably make Ryan Leaf at home say "Hey, I wonder what makes them think he's any better than I am?"), and the defense lacking motivation after Sharper went out also.

Its a humbling league and not one team should be tremendously confidnet in their team at Week 4.

I think you completely misinterpreted what I said last week. What I referred to people hatin' on the Packers is that noone gives them the respect due to them, though I did see a lot more people wondering what's wrong with them this week. It just seems all the coverage goes to vastly overrated teams like the Falcons or Ravens all too often. I think there's plenty of 2-2 and 1-3 teams that should bounce back and have great years and very likely make the playoffs.

 

Don't be so bitter about Week 1, by the way.

Hmmm, well in that case since their last three second-round picks (IIRC) were Eddie Moore, Chris Chambers, and Todd Wade it's probably one of those dead areas to them.

It's a real shocker if you didn't notice that the Skins didn't have a QB...or an offensive line...or if you were clairvoyant enough to know that Arrington would be forced into knee surgery.

 

And I said it earlier, and I'll say it again - the Packers defensive coach needs to be slapped around with a fresh trout until he realizes that Green Bay doesn't have the personnel to blitz. Barber had around 120 yards on blown blitz packages alone this week, which is all the more upsetting because Thomas Jones rolled up a bunch of yards on the blitz last week.

 

The Packers are better than this (Favre's injury really handcuffed their offense), and the Giants are worse than this too. In case you didn't notice, Warner ate four sacks yesterday because he sat in the pocket and did that pussy half-assed pump fake on almost every pass play. A win's a win, but the Giants got bailed out by poor Packer coaching and Favre's concussion.

 

I've also got to say that if I coached a team that laid down as bad as the Saints did this week (a touchdown pass from EMMITT SMITH), I think I'd just resign, erase my name, and walked the earth until I died. That is, if I wasn't publically executed first.

Carson Palmer is still essentially a rookie, the Bengals being good last year just messed up his development. He didn't get to see those blitz packages in a game time situation.

 

Not to mention the Bengals defense has been streaky at best.

 

It'll be interesting to see if they don't actually work on BLITZ PICK UP this week in practice for the Bengals.

as a Bills fan, I was appalled with yesterday's game...I mean the first two losses were one thing...THIS loss? I took this one way harder than the first too...man they gave that game away to the Patriots...will someone get them a goddamn offensive line and will someone teach Bledsoe how to be fucking mobile and not hold onto the ball all goddamn day! With Moulds, Evans and Mark Campbell, dude should be throwing for 300 yards a game, TDs all day...absolutely horrible, this is worse than watching them lose 4 straight superbowls...

That's actually kind of back-asswards. If anything, sitting on the sidelines and watching film all year should have given him ample amount of time to see those blitz packages and prepare for them when he started taking snaps this year.

Mike Sherman has to be one of the worst coaches in the NFL right now. What was he thinking putting Favre right back into the game after that hit? They need to rethink the entire strategy to this team as they've actually managed to make the defense worse with this non-stop blitzing crap.

Actually, it's funny you mentioned that. Favre hopped over there to the sideline - Sherman asked him if he was okay, Favre said yes, and then he walked onto the field, while the medical team behind him was screaming at the top of their lungs. I don't think Sherman had a single clue as to what was going on.

 

Then Favre takes the snap, concussed, and throws a bomb to Walker for the touchdown.

 

That was one of those moments that you'd laugh at in a movie because it's so contrived and scripted - things like that never happen in real football, do they?
