Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 3, 2004 In no particular order, just as they come to me.............. 1)Paul Heyman turns on Brock. 'You can't beat the Big Show, you can't F-5 him!'. Nevermind the fact he was on his way to doing each. Guess he meant 'I forbid you to beat Big Show' as opposed to can't as in not possible. 2)Mr. Perfect's face turn in 92. Warrior bails and heads back to Planet Destrucity so Perfect turns face merely via Savage picking him. Heenan sorta covered it up but Andre's heel turn it wasn't. 3)Barry Windham joins the Horsemen in 88. 'Luger won't be there for you', of course the Horsemen had injured him in the match or whatever and he was supposed to just kip up a la Shawn Michaels and save the day. 4)Kane goes back heel in 2000, 'I-AM-A-MONSTER'. Of course three months later he's back teaming up with his fellow fun brother. Yes this was preceded by the Big Show eating his way to OVW. 5)Windham teaming with heel team (fuck all I remember was that Foley was on it) in the WrestleCrap THUNDERCAGE OF DOOM!~ after months and months of face matches. 'I never said I was a golden boy.' 6)Paul Roma/the forming of the little missed Power and Glory. Rockers check on Roma and here's Hercules up in their area. You could say Hercules didn't know that Roma had been knocked out by Dino Bravo but that opens up a whole new can of worms. 7)Michael Hayes' face turn in World Class in 86/87 when they made his concert into an angle. So if Jericho and Xian team up again cause Xian was with Jericho at a Fozzy concert, don't say there hasn't been anything as retarded as this before. So yes, it's not like Vince McMahon invented nonsensical turns or anything........
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted October 3, 2004 I don't know, the worst turn ever has to be one of the following... 1. Sting's Fall Brawl 1999. He got cheered MORE after it. 2. Goldbergs heel turn in 2000. Um...what the hell was the point again? 3. Lex Luger EVER. The guy flip-flopped more than anyone in WCW. 4. Kane EVER. Same as Luger, except in WWF. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Chris Jericho's face turn in 2000. I still don't understand that one. So, he respects Chyna after the Triple Threat Match at RR2000 . . . but still wrestles as a heel in the RR match itself. Even so, it was a pretty lame face turn unless I'm missing something here . . . which I probably am.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Let's not forget Demolition (1990). Faces one day, the next they show up with Crush and act (more) like heels again.
Just John 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Undertaker in 01. UT: Are you gonna kiss this man's ass? JR: Hell no! UT: So, you're saying you're better than me? Taker then shoves JR's face into Vince's ass, after which Vince dances around the ring in JR's cowboy hat and no pants. Pure wrestlecrap.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Ah...please don't remind me of that dumb ass Jericho/Chyna union from 2000. I'm getting violently angry just thinking about it. Favorite nonsensical turn would probably be Christian on DDP after DDP had helped him end his losing streak. Christian wins his first match, starts celebrating, then out of the blue gives DDP the Unprettier for no reason at all. That has to be up there for one of the funniest turns ever. Another one I found funny was Paul Ellering on LOD in 98, with Ellering turning on them as soon as they introduced him as their new manager.
cbacon 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Yokozuna's face turn. I still don't understand that one.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Yokozuna's face turn. I still don't understand that one. It wasn't THAT horribly done. Cornette and company got mad at Yokozuna for losing some matches and turned on him when they brought Vader in. I guess they were just trying to think of something for Yoko to do. Kevin Nash turned all the time in WCW. I remember him justifying his heel turn once in 2000 or so by saying that was the real him, and he turned good guy every now and then so people would buy his merchandise. Guest Staravenger Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Kane unmasks... AND THEN GOES CRAZY~! That was just stupid. It was Rob Van Dams fault. He suggested it to Bischoff, and Bischoff took him up on it.
Guest Quik Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Was it? Aw man, I must have blocked out most of that angle. "Yo, dude. If like, Kane loses, he'll totally lose the mask... hardcore. Yeah. Are you gonna eat that?"
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Kwang's face turn was bad, Hakushi turned on him after they lost to the Smoking Gunns, the next week on Superstars Hakushi squashed Kwang and the fans liked Hakushi's moves and cheered him over Kwang. That was his last televised match and we got Savio Vega a few months later.

That was his last televised match and we got Savio Vega a few months later. The match in question was a week or so before In Your House, and Savio debuted at IYH after Ramon vs. Double Double J. Edit: Checked Cawthons site, and Hakushi/Kwang was on 4/29/95, so he returned two weeks later.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Shawn's post Sid beatdown face turn always sort of bugged me. Not sure why exactly, but it made no sense to me. Of course HHH's sort of heel turn as the mastermind behind Austin's hit & run. He was more or less a tweener (if not face) throughout the whole Angle/Steph thing, then just goes full heel in a shitty payoff to what might have just been a positive angle. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Kane unmasks... AND THEN GOES CRAZY~! That was just stupid. It was Rob Van Dams fault. He suggested it to Bischoff, and Bischoff took him up on it. Shouldn't Rob have been the heel then? Ah well, whatever. I'll choose Austin's face turn after the Alliance. Crowd reaction wise, it was fine. But it was just so random that one week he's this traitor that all fans should hate, but then he's a face everyone should love again the next week.
Australian Pride 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 The whole Angle/Heyman/Big Show thing from late 2002. Babyface Kurt beats heel Big Show for the title. Next edition of SD he comes out and introduces Heyman as his manager, despite Heyman already being Big Shows manager. Then Big Show forgets he got screwed and they all join forces. Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Let's not forget Demolition (1990). Faces one day, the next they show up with Crush and act (more) like heels again. I was at one of the house shows (June '90) just after they started doing it. Funny too, Bret Hart wasn't there so it was Neidhart 1-on-3 vs Demo and a kid next to me tried to bet me that Bret was the third guy under the mask (never mind he'd had to have grown over a foot and put on about 75 pounds). God I miss the good ole' mark days sometimes
eiker_ir 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 remember in the main event of Survivor Series and thru all summer Stone Cold(heel) was feuding wuth Angle(Face). An the WWF beat the alliance that night to finish them forever. then the next night for some reason Austin's the face and Angle the heel, it's like they had reverted to january of the same year, it was weird. Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Actually I just laughed the poor boy silly. Hell that wasn't even as bad as an idea Vince Russo himself presented to me on a webchat remember in the main event of Survivor Series and thru all summer Stone Cold(heel) was feuding wuth Angle(Face). An the WWF beat the alliance that night to finish them forever. then the next night for some reason Austin's the face and Angle the heel, it's like they had reverted to january of the same year, it was weird. That was one of those more 'fan-friendly' turns, since no one was really into the idea of Angle (or Vince for that matter) as a face and we all know how the Austin turn went. Besides, Angle had been acting like a heel all night anyway, 'Well aren't you gonna thank me????'
Australian Pride 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I still haven't worked out why Vince turned Big Show babyface at WM15. Actually, now that I think of it, I can't work out why any of TBS's turns happenned in 1999. There was like 4 of them. Another one I never got was Roddy Piper turning on Buff Bagwell, and hooking up with Ric Flair, in WCW.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Randy Savage joining the NWO in the midst of an interesting 'Savage/Sting: the WCW Outsiders' bit. Oh well, seeing how Bischoff was turning the company into the Hogan show (WCW Monday night with Hollywood Hogan'), I shouldn't have been surprised.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I still haven't worked out why Vince turned Big Show babyface at WM15. According to Foley's second book He wanted Big Show vs. Steve Austin as his main event at Wrestlemania 2000 and wanted to keep them away from each other. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Wait, how did Show turn face at WM15? ..speaking of which, when did he turn face between the Ministry and his World Title win? And how did he turn between WM2000 and Backlash? And why did he "come back" to team with (Lita?) vs. Shane and Stephanie? And then what did he do before disappearing again to go to OVW? And then how did he turn face between Backlash (loss to Shane) and the invasion? And then what was his last angle before not being booked at WrestleMania X-8? I know I've seen all this, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember anything about that man's career.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted October 4, 2004 He punched McMahon at WM XV to turn face, and joined the UNION. Undertaker was injured, so they played a sympathy gimmick (w/ Boss Man mocking his fathers death) He turned face after WM 2000 because he found out Shane was mocking him for being a fool, and started doing imitation gimmicks. Teamed with Lita when he returned from JDay 2000 beating from Shane. He turned heel later that night joining Shane, then quickly left for OVW. The Invasion turn was probably because he was coming off a "loser" gimmick, then all WWF people were faces. His last feud before WM X-8 was...(thinks) A quick program with Undertaker on SD (with the new years episode of SD being live), then MIGHT have had a quick altercation with Kane again. I probably made half this up, but I think this was as close as accurate I can be without a WWF Magazine or some other crap.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 4, 2004 We can't forget Big Show 'CHOKESLAMMING TAKER TO HELL' and then forming Armageddon with him less than two months later. Not to mention that the Acolytes somehow became enemies of Armageddon. 'They forgot who brought them to the dance' (THAT'S the backstory to Taker/JBL, I knew it!) Then there was the infamous Hoganic desert promo by Big Show ('Well you know brother Taker took me down to the desert, dude!!!!) which was hilariously interrupted by Jericho--'Personification of evil? More like the personification of boredom!!!!!' And before Taker's exit they were the subject of many hilarious Rock promos (Undertaker, with his Mickey-Mouse tattoos, his 33-pound head, DY-DY-DY AND ALL THAT STUPID CRAP and the Big Slow, UYAYAYAYAYUAUYAUUAYYUYAUAUAYAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!)
